I’ve been riding for 40 years, every type of bike. I’m considering this for my last bike. I hope the sitting position isn’t too tight, I’m 6’. Great unique bike still made by hand in the original factory.
You can get lowering pegs if need be. I'm 6 1 and it feels good on shorter runs under 2 hours or so for me. If your flexibility is decent then you shouldn't need lowered pegs. Theirs all kinds I think from 1 to 2 inches of lowering options for the pegs.
Finally saw later in your video, your height. I’m heading to GA tomorrow to pick up mine!
Currently own a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT 1000 cc that I have had for 20 years. Once took me 120 miles on one cylinder at highway speed when one spark plug wire crapped out on a Sunday morning with no shops open. At almost 70 years old it has gotten too heavy to maneuver in and out of situations. Purchased a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone at more than 100 pounds less wet weight. Absolutely love it. Will stay with Moto Guzzi for the rest of my riding life. I have owned BMW, Laverda, Ducati, Moto Morini, Triumph, BSA, Zundapp, Indian, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Cagiva and loved them all for different reasons, but the fact that I can physically handle the weight of a bike that will cruise (illegally) at 85-90 mph for as long as I need, looks good, is reliable and affordable and unique, why shop anywhere else?- -Mike Battle
I've not gotten tired of the v7 and doubt I ever will. Fantastic, lots of character and man this bike is so flickable and easy to ride. Love it great machine.
Mike, in 1979 I had to ride 150 miles home on a one-cylinder V7 Sport after one coil crapped out. It shook so much that the left exhaust nut worked loose, separating the header pipe from the head. But it got me home. Bene to the factory twice, owned two others, and there is a V7 Special Edition in my future. Viva Guzzi!
I’m a little tired of bike reviews that focus heavily on power.
It’s like a review of an Audi A4 where the Audi gets negative marks for not being as fast as a Porsche.
I’ll bet less than 1% of riders take their rides to the track to scrape a peg.

Agreed. Everytime I sit on a bike or drive a car I don't think about numbers. I think about how it feels or makes me feel. That's where it's at and it's something that's hard to express to others.

This bike is a steal for 10k. HD charges 15k for new sportster but this is much better bike! HD has tiny toy capacity gas tank and makes it a toy not a real bike. MG is real.

This is the daddy of cool. The golden 100 year logo on the front fender is awesome.
At last, somebody who gets it. It's funny, I've watched alot of videos on this bike; mostly younger folk and they just don't have a clue. One guy was ranting about the terrible transmission and mushy shifting. Mushy shifting????? The only mush is between his ears. After 55 years of riding this is the most enjoyable bike I've ever owned: The comfort, the handling, the sheer mechanicalness of it. Effortless torque, great gas milage and fatigue free ease of riding over distance are just a bonus. And the shaft drive!!!!! What a bike!
Also I'm six-four and I'm a happy camper. Normally I sit at the back in the rider section of the seat for comfort, but there is room to shift more toward the front of the seat for awesome handling in the twisties. Serious fun.
Oh man the Guzzi is just satisfying to ride, I can feel your passion towards them, very similar to me. I live the mechanical solid feel of the bike. It feels like a real machine and not just a toy. Guzzi is a satisfying riding experience even when taking it easy, I live them.
Great heartfelt and honest review. I had a 2009 V7, enjoyed it a lot. I am currently on a '16 Triumph Street Twin. A fine bike too. You're very right about that Guzzi character, you can only understand that by riding a Guzzi. It is not about outright performance, it is all about character. The engine pulsation (not vibration) and muffler music is addicting. The high build quality is evident, as is that Italian passion for style, and suggests that Moto Guzzi is the premier luxury motorcycle brand. I may have to get one of these new V7s soon! Nice roads there in KY by the way. What part of KY are you in? My first solo ride ever was in Middletown KY on my cousin's 1966 Honda CB160, when I was 15. "One down and three up, just lean to turn", were my only instructions. This was way before MSF or any riding class. Ride safe everybody.
absolutely agree with everything you just said. I was riding in the Hillsboro, Ky area in the video near the Goddard bridge where I started at and rode down Poplar Plains and some other back roads I hadnt even been on yet at the time. There are some nice roads out here. I rode this past weekend out near Natural Bridge and the Nada Tunnel and that was an amazing ride. My camera batteries didnt last though so I didnt get to film the best parts of the ride, so I will definitely have to do a return trip and get some footage, it was so neat and amazing experience.
Phil Noud, see if your cousin has that CB160 in the barn. It's now considered a classic!

You would probably like the new Ducati Monster + ... It is easy as hell to ride once you get used to the hydraulic clutch and turn, stop, go slow with ease then the engine has power forever if you need it but you don't need to go fast to have fun but when you want to it can be a superbike or a cruiser. It is 6 bikes in one depending on the riding mode and settings you do for it. It can back the power down to 70hp or give you full 111.
Oh man u make it sound great I've yet to try out a ducati. I love way monster looks as well as the scrambler. Can't wait to try one out.
@@bikerbeliever8169 scrambler is nice too but the monster is a bit more advanced in power unless you go for a scrambler 1100…sit on them both see what is more comfortable and your butt will tell you what it likes siting on more! I am getting a custom Corbin seat for the monster since the stock one is a bit small.
Looks like the perfect replacement for my 883, a little bit more power and torque, less weight, 6 gears... I hope Guzzi doesn't loose his mind and destroy the v7 with "modern" shits like hd it's doing.
I feel that way about my W800, a Japanese work of art. This will likely be my next bike since I live in two places. Thanks for the video.

My Vulcan is shaft drive. I am considering this as a second bike in part for that shaft drive.
Shaft drive I like because not worrying about chain. However changing that rear wheel/tire out is a pain I've come to find out. But if younpay the dealer to just do it then don't have to worry about it.
I’m looking at getting a second bike later this year to go with my ‘21 Harley softail and I’ve looked at so many different bikes and even styles of bike, but I just keep coming back to this V7 from MG. I’ve never even rode one before but it’s just got a charm about it that even comes through oh video! There’s bikes with so much more of this or that, but I just can’t shake this bike. Luckily, we actually have a Guzzi dealership in town so…….😊
It has character that's for sure. It reminds me of Harley all Guzzis just with Italian styling and flare.
Really enjoyed your review. Actually ordered a Centennial model today for delivery October. Agree with you , it’s a bike with character. Have a Triumph Speed twin , this Guzzi is just so different. As they say ,chalk and cheese . That’s my thoughts after having a test ride today. So looking forward to October. I’ll keep you updated 😀
Dude awesome, I believe you wont be disappointed. I own a vulcan 650 s, a husqvarna svartpilen 701, and the guzzi v7, and the v7 is my favorite for sure. And Ive rode several other bikes, and the Guzzi is always the one that stands out to me and just feels right.

I have a 2014 V7, I get more comments from teenage lads of "holy shit, I love your bike"! Kind of fun watching their lead-in to the response...Good on them though for recognizing what they like out of the box. I had to have this thing put in front of me to realize what I like, to think I'm an Android phone guy. Pulled up alongside a sport bike with a chick pillion a few days ago. At the stoplight, he gave a blip and I responded in like kind with a head nod. he acknowledged and looked away. She didn't. I beat his ass out of the gate at V7 response time when the light turned green. He knew right there that he needed to change his game or he would lose her. Poor Bastard.
Lol that is hilarious. The v7 is a great bike all round, its not the fastest, but it aint no slouch, this bike is fun.

Just came across your videos. I bought a 2023 a few weeks ago and love it. Reminds me of my old air/oil cooled BMW R1200GS motor. I have ask what state you’re in because it looks like KY, eastern OH or SE IN. I’m in Cincinnati.

Nice review. I really get why you like this bike so much. It's so cool without even trying & has real soul & character. It also has a purity about it that embodies the simple pleasure of just riding a bike for the sake of it. Also very interested to see Guzzi's mystery model reveal at the end of this year. It could be something quite special hopefully as it's their anniversary year.

@@bikerbeliever8169 Lol, me too. There's a blurry pixelated picture doing the rounds that suggests it might be a more contemporary naked along the lines of the Griso instead of a retro & also speculation that it will use the full power V85 TT engine. Sounds very interesting!
When riding a Guzzi it feels like you're being 'swept' along by those distinctive engine pulses, which might be what some folks mean when they say that the motor has character. There's nothing else quite like it. :)
It has a good feel to the motor yes. And it handles so smooth. I mean it can't lean like a sport bike I get it, but this thing is agile imo, turns in so quick and effortlessly. I enjoy riding it a lot.

I have 5 different Motorcycles.. if I could only have one.. it would be my 2021 Moto Guzzi like yours.. I put a DNA air filter on so it could breathe and it DEFINITELY CHANGED the Performance and Sound...

I sold it because of life stuff sold all my bikes but I miss it and want to get another one. I got an ibex 800 to hold me over til that time though.

Lol, I couldn't think of nothing else off the top of my head to compare to lol. There's some rough roads around here, that wasn't one though, but was kind of narrow.
I live in US, but watch a lot of yt from the UK. The narrow country lanes look so inviting for a road bike.
Would like to hook up with an English touring company because I want to follow another rider. I worry that I will pull on to the wrong side of the road.
Beautiful and "real". I hope that other brands will start making more of these bikes and less of the "transformers" kind.

My dad had a Honda CX500 custom with a shaft and all I could remember riding on it thinking "this thing is smooth", everyone should at least try one before knocking it on paper, I have a honda monkey for christ sakes, its not all about speed (IMO) its about enjoying the ride
Waited 4 months for mine, will receive it next week. Your review confirms most of my points. Owned a V7 III. They improved big time. But only the black V7 looks awesome. The bleu 850 or the green anniversary don t have the looks. Only the black one is cohesive in style.
I agree. The black is very cool & looks great with red cylinder heads, shock springs & front caliper but the orange version looks surprisingly really nice too in standard trim.
Waiting on my black stone arriving next week.
I hope that sticker on the tank comes off, ruins the look of the tank.

I wanted the centennial but when I saw the orange V7, I was sold. But really, they really did a great job on the color schemes for the 2021 V7’s. They’re all fantastic looking

I test rode both as well, I think they are both good, but preferred the v7, its feel, better quicker turn in, though the v9 handled fine. I think the v9 may be better on longer rides cause your a little more upright, but the v7 is comfortable and Ive not had any issues and Im 6 foot 1 inch tall, and have rode several hours on the v7 and do pretty good. Obviously if your going to me on a bike for many many hours, you better off, probably, getting something more touring designated.

Hey man I like to compliment your choice as I have the exact model and color! It's been sitting in the garage for the last 3 weeks because I finally got legal today. After my first ride today I gotta say I couldn't agree with you more! That being said I was wondering if you could help me out with some thing. You see my bike was absent the owners manual when shipped and am still waiting for MG to send me one. The PDF is not available on the website yet either. If its not too much trouble could you post what the user manual says about running in as they call it, break in for us. Specifically the first service mileage and anything else important to know about it? Man I'd really appreciate it if you could. Thanks in advance, sincerely a fellow Guzzir.
Its funny you say that I didn't get an owners manual am taking bike to dealer today though and will see if they have it. I need to figure out the break in as well lol.
@@bikerbeliever8169 My dealer got my bike and a centanario and neither bike came with one. I found a V7III owners manual pdf at guzzi tech and have been using it as reference. It says run in is @ 900 miles and not to exceed 5500 rpm and to not run at high speeds for a sustained period, whatever that means. The directions for the cluster are close enough to help with settings. You will have to register an account there to download it. Just got my black misterals yesterday (MG cycle) and will install after first service. So far I've put 225 mi on so maybe in a couple weeks I will get it serviced. Thanks for replying. BTW it appears air cleaner and oil filter are same part #'s as V7III.
The manual is less impressive than the bike, you’re not missing much. I’m going on my dealer’s advice which is keep below 4K up to first service. I’ve got a gear shift indicator a few times when pushing on, I think it is set at 4.5/5k and have read it can be adjusted. Sorry, I don’t know what the real redline is.
Love the bike, can’t wait when they’re available at my nearest MG dealer… I have a question about the headlight - there are no night time videos of this new V7, so when it’s dark and you turn on the headlight - is the entire headlight lit up (like an old school headlight), or just the LED part gets brighter? I just don’t understand if the LED is just a daytime running light, and there’s another regular lightbulb hidden behind it, or the entire headlight is LED?.. It would be very helpful if you could share that info, since it impossible to find any details about it. Thank you.
It has 3 settings. The daytime running light, which dont light the road up (or very little), which is the eagle in the headlight, then you have the low beam which i think is the upper portion of the headlight that lights up and then the high beam which is the lower portion. Ill try and add it in a future video when I do a comparison or something to other bike Ill try and capture it better.

Sorry, it’s just their brand new headlight design and you’re one of the rare owners of the Stone version who has a UA-cam channel :)
@@TheMeridianas Yeah Im pretty sure they are led. yeah, im positive. In all other countries the turn signals are led as well, except the U.S. to the best of my knowledge.
Nice Review! I am thinking to replace my current Ducati Monster 620 Dark with the V7. The V7 looks more comfortable for me and for the passenger. I got a 6 years old daughter.

I have never rode a Ducati, but the v7 is a great comfortable bike to me and Im 6 foot 1 and position is pretty neutral and easy and relaxed to me. Maybe slight lean forward for shorter people, but I'd imagine not being bad. My wife rides on the back with me and she does fine on it as well, she has rode for over an hour with no complaints of being uncomfortable on the back. I love this bike I definitely recommend it as just a great all round good bike with tons of character and style.

What I love from my Ducati is the double disk front brake Brembo Oro and the roaming sound of the Remus Titanium exhaust.
How's the single disk brake with 4 pistons? Any good exhaust to replicate the Remus Titanium sound?
@@mistergions I would think would be good at 5 foot 7 and comfortable. I dont know if it will sound like Remus, or the Ducati, but have a slip on exhaust supposed to be here by this weekend if all goes well and will post vids of it. The front single brake does good, it might not be like sport bike hard grab stopping power but is adequate, I've had no issues with needing more stopping power for my style of riding.

Do you think you could also replace the LCD display with a double analogue display like the Special version?
It's a switch from a sport bike to a custom one so I have to do a good pros and cons list

Honestly unless you are professional AMA superbike racer dragging knees .. you're not going to be near the potential of a liter bike. I'm experienced sportbike rider k5-k6 Gixxer thous and such .. and I'm humble enough to recognize the bike had so much more than what I was able to ask of it . Which for me was basically 2nd gear standups lol yes wheelie addiction IS a thing ;p love Harleys too for what they offer . I really want a Guzzi now for all the reasons you mentioned. Its got enough low end torque to short shift it . Its different than anything out there . Viva Italia ! Thank you for your review .
Oh man I loved the bike it's just so good. On the streets these crazy sport bikes u can never hit their potential. It's kinda that saying a slow bike riding it fast is funner than riding a fast bike slow. The guzzi ain't slow really its about right to be honest, maybe a tad more would be nice but it's enjoyable the way it is.
My closest dealer has four 2021 V7's in stock. All are at MSRP.
I want one, but being retired, its kinda hard to pull the trigger.
Funny, I seem to distribute forces equally between my fingers & palms.
They are nice bike, it's possible they may have some carryover s discounted soon possibly.

Right now the New England roads have too much road salt residue to ride it. Waiting for a good rain to wash the roads.
I did take it up & down my driveway in first gear, and I love the torque!
How would it fit a 6’ person.
@@scottcalhoun5524 I've put a few thousand miles on it. I'm 6 ft tall, and its really border line. I would like an inch more room between the seat-bump & the tank knee-bumps, but I've only been in pain after a few hours riding (& I'm almost 70).
It's fun having the low seat too. I'm used to much taller bikes. I think I feel like I'm going faster than I really am, due to the low seat.
@@savage22bolt32 Well, the longest ride I’ll probably do is riding it back from the dealership tomorrow (almost 3 hours). I mainly just ride around town and the back mountain roads, occasionally to another town about 30-45 minutes away.

Actually pretty good. I like mine a bit firty though. If I'd gone with the special I wouldn't want to ever get it dirty though.
My 2016 V7ii will remain spotless.

no, i have sat on it but not actually fired it up and rode it. I tried to get my wife to get the street twin and trade her vulcan in for it but she aint doing it (for now, lol). That would make for a good comparison video

I had a Street Twin a few years back. Had to sell it to pay some medical bills. It was a torque MONSTER! And smooth. Much more power and smoothness than the Guzzi ( I have a new 2021 V7 Stone with 269 miles on it).
I loved that Street Twin, but I love my Guzzi even more. The air cooled sideways V Twin and Shaft drive were what tipped the scales for me when looking for a new bike.
Both are great bikes. I just like the old school character of the Guzzi. I’m not saying it’s a better bike. It’s just a better bike for me.

No I wish that was how they did it. No fuel guage just a reserve light. Once the reserve comes on you got 60 ish miles to find a station probably.

Yeah I do, and I don't know much about currency translation, but that sounds horrific! All bikes in general are getting expensive, even the cheaply made ones . . . bikers should be outraged across the board imo
