Yes, at least for me. I’ve owned about 35-40 different bikes in my multiple decades of riding. Suspension is fantastic, the engine is strong and the cargo capacity is really good. I own a 2023 Pursuit Dark horse Icon. I changed out the handlebars to KST Lakotas, added a heel shifter and changed out the exhaust to Rinehart 4.5” moto pro’s
Oh man this bike with an exhaust would sound fantastic. That motor makes a good note.
Got one and after 4000 miles nothing but great things to say. You really do get all those buttons and DCT but give it about 1000 miles to really dial it in and it goes from good to great
Yes it was awesome and would only get smoother and better as all the parts seat in better. Fantastic machine.
Would like to see you off roading with it!
Yeah I know, it's new bike so I figure dealer wouldn't like that lol.
Best bike ever
It's a great machine absolutely
As nice as Honda’s DCT is, I feel like I’d miss having the clutch control. Amazing bike nonetheless! I definitely want one.
I still enjoy using the clutch too, the dct isn't bad though and actually is pretty good and if it can draw more riders into motorcycling I'm all for it. I think the new e clutch and autos coming from other bike makers will hopefully draw more riders into motorcycling. The more people we got riding the better.
Not a bad review for a first time DCT and Africa Twin ride. I’m on my 5th DCT bike and 1 Yamaha YCCS (clutch lever less) bike. Takes a while to get used to them and learn how to effectively use one to its capabilities. Once you do, you won’t look back! Ride safe…ps: hated my first DCT bike! lol
Nice!! I really enjoyed it and was so surprised by it. I liked the bike all round, it was ton of fun.
Im 5'7 haven't had the chance to sit on the bike yet. Would it he a bit if a stretch for me height wise ? Talkest bike ive sat on had a 31.5 seat. Thanks
Uhm it would be a slight stretch, but I think if your comfortable being on your toes and leaning off one side of the bike if necessary you could do it. I recommend going to dealer and just asking if you can sit on one, that's the best way to find out. I actually put a lowering kit on my bike to try and make it to where my wife would be able to comfortably be able to touch. She's 5'4 and on her tip toes. She could do it if she was motivated.
I have a 2024 1100DCT. I love it. I can focus more on riding and on traffic than on gears. Great in stop and go traffic.
Yes I was so surprised by it and really want one now. My wife loved it and now she wants one too. We will, Lord willing, probably be getting the rebel 1100 se dct that was just announced by Honda for my wife.
That's my dream bike right there... thank you for the review and stay blessed.
Your welcome and it's fantastic bike.
Thanks for the review. What is the appropriate height to ride this bike?
I'm 6 foot 1 and I could flat foot on both sides fine. It is a taller bike though and I think there is different seat height options available, depending on which subtrim of bike you get and maybe even different seat options possibly for shorter or taller riders, if I'm not mistaken.
@@dyeahodar3397I’m 5’6” on a good day and can easily handle an Africa Twin. However, I had to get the lower seat.
No. I still want one very badly.
Such a good bike, I'd like to have one too 😀
Hi brother.. will you review an africa twin on the channel? Stay blessed and i wish you all the best your reviews are great.
Yes, I just did, just got to post the video
Thanks for doing this video. I appreciate it. Question for you, I'm 642 and 300 lb. Will this be a good fit for me? I live in Miami florida, where is there is just flat terrain. I do not plan going on the highway with it. Thank you👍
Yes, absolutely
@@bikerbeliever8169 thank you for the reply
I bought mine about a month ago. Still need to register it. I have the 2024 Pursuit Darkhorse in the dark blue. I've had a couple dozen bikes in my life and this is by far the best/most comfortable I've ever had.
Yes I loved it in the short time I had with it and I enjoyed the challenger dark horse as well. Very nice machine.
Thanks for showing this. This is exactly the idea I had and it's nice to see it done. My dog is the same size. I'm thinking about making the hole a little smaller so she can't fit her shoulders through. And I feel better about the hard box in case the bike drops or something so she's not crushed in the soft sided carrier I have now.
Yeah it's very simple and it holds up better over time than the softer bags. This is the way to do it if you plan on your best friend riding with you a lot for years to come. You could make some more ventilation depending on what area you live or ride in. I put a small blanket in mine for my short haired pup for comfort.
I'm sure it's a great bike but I just don't like the look. Sorry
Hey to each his own, some like it some don't. Looks and styling are always going to be subjective.
Oh darn.
..this Hamilton/Fairfield....right across from Jungle Jim's.. I really miss larossa's and skyline..lol
I don't know the area it was first time there but the dealer was great, great people very helpful.
How do you get on if you are going up a steep hill and need to stop at the top does the hand brake hold the bike ok or do you need to put on the hand brake
It does have a hand brake but u don't use that u just can hold the rear brake or give It a little throttle or hold the front brake some to hold it and throttle at same time and come off the brake.
This is ok on a very steep hill where I live in the U.K. big hills everywhere , I live in a place called Plymouth in the South West of the U.K.
I live in NYC. Bought Harley Heritage. Going through bridges traffic and city traffic. Sold Harley 6 weeks later. Bought 1100T DCT, perfect! Though I replaced handle bars and the seat. Also forward controls...
Awesome yeah I'm not a fan of the heavy clutch and brake levers on the bigger Harley models. The engine is nice but tiresome, especially in traffic.
The automatic would be nice in traffic. Getting older I like the easy path.
It's fantastic imo, me and the wife really liked it actually.
Tried one out at a demo ride . Power for days but found the riding position strange , to be nice about it . The sounds with a stock pipes anyway was also less than good but in all fairness I've heard some with after market pipes that sounded great . All in all it was a nice demo ride . Enjoy the bike , ride safe .
Yeah it's very quiet especially for a v twin stock. With the two brothers exhaust it sounds like a monster. For me the riding position is fine except the seat doesn't have enough of a backstop to keep you from sliding back when hard on the throttle. The mid pegs also make the position better than the standard forward pegs.
Try also the Chieftain & compare them.
Haven't rode that one yet, I've done the roadmaster if I remember correctly. It was pretty nice still actually, little more viby in floorboards but still good bike.
Take the bigger out of that sentence and it’s correct. 😂
Well whatever it is a touring bike
I have owned one for 7 months. 23 thou miles. Bad casting in the front wheel is leaving people stranded with bent and cracked rim. Rear shock mount bolt snapping. Ride command computer malfunctioning. I hope they get this stuff fixed. 40 thou $ . I did like the bike but not to happy now. Luckily I still have my old Gold Wing to ride.
That's awful, hopefully Indian figures these things out on future models. The short ride I had though I was super impressed with the ride quality and the motor of the bike as well as the handling.
4000 bucks cheaper and more comfortable than the newly announced and very cool r9, the suzuki has a place.
The 8r is a great bike. I was blown away by how good it is.
I keep finding myself wishing they had a compass and external temp on the dash
This was a short demo ride I didn't get the time to notice too much, I was mainly focused on how the bike felt and rode. It rode fantast8c though.
Great Video! I’m with you. They should’ve put cc on the 8R!
Yes!!! Cruise needs to be on all bikes.
You ride it well😊. I bought a RE GT in 2021. Still have and still loving it. Went this year to test a lot of bikes. Bought another RE, the Shotgun. Now I have 2 amazing bikes for the price of 1 Triumph, BMW😂😊
Yes it's great bike me and the wife like it a lot. I liked all the RE bikes to be honest. I don't think they make a bad bike.
What Gloves are you wearing?
Rev it Mosca 2 gloves. Great summer glove, highly recommend.
Great review
Thanks!!
Just brought me one last Saturday. 👌
Congratulations, it was one of the nicest riding bikes I've ever rode, and I'm not a bagger guy (yet). But this bike made me really want one.
i've had mine for 2 months now and I really enjoy it. I came from Tiger 800xc.
Oh wow, and you prefer the re himilayan over the tiger?
@@bikerbeliever8169 it’s the CFMOTO and my tiger was a 2014. Highly prefer the ibex.
I've been finding these for ages. Thanks bro and Ridesafe for you and your doggo 😊
Absoluetly u too bro
You said you could just about flat foot it, how tall are you ?
I'm 6 foot 1. That was on the high seat too. It has several height seat options as well, and different heights for each seat option too.
@@bikerbeliever8169 thanks Im 6" (183 cm) so I guess its right for me, how is the leg room sitting on it ?
Himalayan Hamalayan or like uv typed Himiliyan. Same bike doesn't change 😂. Good to see affordable adventure bikes hitting the market.
Yes, I agree, regardless of the way it's said it is a super bike and the affordable price makes it even better.
I have one! Also just bought a KTM 790 Adventure that will replace it 😬
Interesting, why u go to the 790 adventure?
Lighter, lower center of gravity, smoother throttle, more suited for off road yet still amazing on road.
OK ok I see. I considered the husqvarna Norden and ktm adventure before getting the ibex. I've been happy with the ibex but it's mainly a road bike for me so the weight balance hasn't been much of an issue, and after doing the throttle reset the fueling has been fine for me. But I know the ktm adventure bikes are really good from what everyone says.
sounds like a 60's Norton...Triumph or BSA cool
I've never got to experience any of those bikes, but they must've sounded great 👍
I have rhe honda rebel 1100 and so many people asking me "oh is that a harley sporter?" And I just saw this vid and it does look similar. The buttons, dash, build, looks similar except mine is a parallel twin. I perfer v twin since the engine sounds way better
I've not rode a rebel 1100 yet, but they look and seem like a good bike. I love me a good twin though 😏
It's just so small lol
It is a small bike. Actually smaller than I expected, looks very small under people above 6 feet kind of. But man it's fun.
@@bikerbeliever8169 yeah I thought my fat bob looked small lol. I kinda like the nightster but I wish it had the same engine size as the Sportster s.
Ha the fat bob is a great bike, totally different feel and motor, steel good tho. Yeah I would love the 1250 in the nightster, the 975 was fun but not even close to the same torque and power of that 1250. That 1250 rev max is a fun motor.
so are crotch rockets LOL
It’s retro-futuristic: it looks like what people in the 1970s thought Harleys in the future would look like. I’m not into Harleys myself, but I’ve always liked the look of these.
I know I dig it.
i didn't like the looks until i saw one in person
My wife was the same way, she said the pics didn't make it look good, but in person it looked way better.
Good looking bike
Yes it is, very unique.
The $20 mirrors look OEM on the V7. Bargain! 👍
Definitely I was pleased with them
Judge Dredd's motorsickle... 🫡
I know it is so cool looking 😎
Do you still have the Guzzi?
No I sold it. Dumb on my part, I'm going to be getting another one ASAP though. Nothing feels like a Guzzi.
I've watched about 30 different reviews of the Indian Pursuit and I have to say that the dealerships are failing at (1) MAJOR thing; and that's explaining the electronic ride modes; IE: Rain, Normal, Sport, and the effects they have on the throttle controls. Plus the drive-by-wire throttle is an altogether different experience as it is. Both rain mode and normal mode seem quite luggish to me, and I've never found myself using them, aside from riding in the occasional downpour. And as far as the shift goes, you have to be commanding with it. Don't be timid, snap that thing into gear and just go! I like the fact that they have deeper, more positive detents on the shifting. It just requires a bit more effort than what you might be used to with a Metric bike or HD. I find that it feels better and shifts quicker than anything I've ever ridden, and can regularly shift in like 0.2 seconds. The only thing I would change on my 2023 Indian Challenger Pursuit Limited is the throttle mapping in rain mode to allow max throttle authority from 0 to 10 miles an hour.
Yeah the throttle I noticed on all Indian bikes is sluggish in normal mode. That being said that Pursuit is one of the best, nicest bikes I've ridden.
My left headphone speaker enjoyed this video 😅
Ha ha just the left speaker?
That's a great looking bike! I have to give y'all a shout-out. I just purchased a brand new 2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition for a steal (went from $10k to $7k... couldn't pass it up). You and others were instrumental in the purchase and I love it! 2 days owning it and I've got around 300 miles on it. I'm new to street riding with my first being my Royal Enfield Scram 411, which I also love. Anyways, I want to thank you for your videos and the hard work y'all put into these! Keep it up and stay safe out there!
Awesome!!! The v7 is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) bikes. I want to get me one, I sold mine and shouldn't have. And $7k is a fantastic price on the v7. And I appreciate the compliments, I hope you enjoy the v7 for many years ro come, it is truly a special, unique, and characterful bike.
What were you thinking ;p
IDK!?!? RIGHT LOL 😆
@bikerbeliever8169 exactly my way/our way of thinking lol
When will they stop making these models that look like snowmobiles? People actually really like them though. 9 out of 10 ride the same snow machine styled machine.
I'm not really a bagger person but after riding this I was really pleasantly surprised ans really liked it ha ha.
No, it's not the best machine ever. That would undoubtedly be the Triumph Rocket 3. Have a rockin' day.
I haven't got to ride the rocket 3 yet, but am looking forward too hopefully sometime.
I’m actually debating between the 2 Not sure what way to go Just rode both and both are amazing
Oh man nice. I'd say they are probably way different, the pursuit being more touring and the rocket more muscle/sport bike. I just rode the challenger dark horse again recently with my wife as passenger, making a video for that soon 🙃. I hopefully get to try the rocket 3 out sometime as well.
No it isn't.
