The sound on this video is unfortunately camera only. I (Mat) jumped the gun and started recording without the mic being turned on. You think by now I'd learn to slow things down and check everything BEFORE we start. Lol
Not only that, they are both from gothenburg and they where part of the tape swapping that happend that started the Gothenburg metal (swedish metal, or Melodic death metal). 95% sure. One thing I am 100% sure of is that In Flames and Soilwork did a video project together, where they are in a club and play the song. (One video for in flames and one for soilwork). Exactly what Ginny Dileo said in his comment. Rejection role (soilwork) and Trigger (inflames)
Since you made the In Flames comparison, you should do a double reaction to Trigger by In Flames and Rejection Role by Soilwork. They filmed the exact same video for both songs and each band is in the other band’s video. It’s melodic death metal magic.
Going through your reactions and happy to find this video from one of my favorite bands ever, Soilwork! Fun fact: the drummer for most of the band’s discography is Dirk Verbeuren who is now the drummer in Megadeth. I’d love for you to react to the song The Ride Majestic. Others have mentioned this but Soilwork and In Flames are a couple of the most well known bands from the Melodic Death Metal scene also known as the “Göteborg Sound” named after the city in Sweden most of the bands came out of. Others include Scar Symmetry and Dark Tranquillity, both of which you should also check out! I know this is an older video from you guys but I hope you get to see this comment. Really enjoying your reactions so far!🤘🏼
The drumming in this song is just fucking nuts. Bjorn is a freak with his vocals. Him and Devin just take metal singing to a whole new level. Good luck finding a more melodic metal band as well. Check out Momentary Bliss. It's from the same album.
I think Mat is a super cool guy, definitely the type of person I wished I had as a mate haha. That came out either creepy or sad, but you get the point 😂 super cool guy, great sense of humour and personality. Thanks dude for being awesome
For my history of rock class in college, I had to interview 3 bands (i wound up only getting to do 2, and still passed the class) but, one of the bands I did, was soilwork. I interviewed the singer, Bjorn Strid. I got an A on that interview project but only got a C in the class
Great reaction to Soilwork! Check out their song Stålfågel (musicvideo), also a good song. I went to the same school as the singer ( Björn Strid) and he is still a funny and humble man. For another band from Sweden I can recomend Sabaton and the Bismarck ( Link down below). This is a great introduction video before you go to the live stuff. Fun fact is that Floor is married to the drummer in Sabaton. As a new sub on your channel I hope I can bring some new stuff to you... Nightwish got me here. :)
Soilwork har always been somewhat of an In Flames clone. And this is so much In Flames... with the difference that In Flames doesntvsound like this so much anymore. This track was amazing. So I don't really care.
They have never sounded the same. Soilwork started out as a thrash band and moved into melodic death metal. In Flames was more like At The Gates in truth. Soilwork did their own thing but utilized the same gothernburg melodic sound.

"Soilwork - Let This River Flow ft. Floor Jansen Live in the Heart of Helsinki" 🤘
Soilwork has released the absolute best album of 2022!! You need to check out Dreams Of Nowhere 🤘🤘
Both In Flames and Soilwork are Swedish bands. Maybe that's why they sound a little similar.

@@mahliz Soilwork is from Helsingborg, not Gothenburg.
@@fineliner306 Thanks for correcting my knowledge gap!

Soilwork and In Flames welcomes you to Sweden.
That's what they have in common.
Love "your's" reactions!
Melodic Death Metal at its finest! Geh whole 2CD(!!) Album is a masterpiece
Soilwork is the shit you guys, you’d would love “Late for The Kill, Early for the Slaughter” by them

Check out the "Stabbing the Drama" album from Soilwork. You will become an instant fan. Rock on my friends. \m/
They also remind me of InFlames. Nice reaction! :)

Y'ALL'S NEXT REACTION SHOULD BE STATIC X
Soilwork is good
