It's easy for me to get into their songs after just a couple notes
A Dreamy, trippy, lullaby. Love it!
Hey BizMatic - it's a shame you didn't get so many "thumbs up" for The Doors. Either they don't know your chanel or they don't like this kind of music. I can't understand it but I hope that you will continue to comment on this music from the 60s and 70s. I stay tuned!
One downside to reacting to rock albums from the sixties track by track is that it disrupts how they were listened to and how they were meant to be listened to, roughly speaking, first one side, then the other. Seen that way, "End of the Night" -- the middle song on side two -- operates like the last call at a bar, while also hinting at "The End" to soon arrive...
When Morrison was arrested in New Haven, a reporter was in the audience. She wrote a story describing Morrison's persona and as hypnotic yet bubbling under the veneer was chaos and ideas our subconsciousness fears. I'm paraphrasing of course, but that was the gist.
"Music Noir" at its best.
Good ear again…. It is one of their slowest paced song. Rather than lullaby, I see it more as a total mood atmosphere zone change. Certainly dreamlike, yet, meant to still be conscious of that dream like state. From a video game sense, it’s as if you’ve entered a whole new room w/ complete different surroundings, texture and rules. The first stanza is the mood setter, the 2nd the theme resolution… he’s using night as metaphor to the unknown. To embrace it and not fear it. His point by the end is some are not destined to travel into that realm of understanding or consciousness. While others magnate to it instinctually. It seems to imply that can be perilous, yet it also doesn’t seem doomed. At peak midnite, the bright light of discovery emerges. Its the path of the explorer, w/ this song being a lantern into that unknown.
Love this song. Great album.
There's a pretty good Doors song that was never released on an album and don't know what album it was intended for. It's "Under Waterfall." It was released on "Stoned Immaculate," which is a cover (other bands doing Doors covers) compilation.
The Doors have a longer song just called - The End - not sure if you ever reacted to it but if you didn't it will BLOW YOUR MIND
Drool? You're killing me tonight.
😂😂🤣🤣 you never drooled?
my thing is that these people that got to catch the world and live in sweet delight while others have bad...do they get the same part in heaven?
such a sad song - almost tragic
Yes.. the book it is based on, Journey to the End of the Night by Louis-Ferdinand Celine is one of the most depressing books of all time. Jim was a big fan.
Or Some are Born too The Night Life or being in the night like a Vampire kind of deal were they are night people not a day person 😀😃🙂🙃😊😇
