I adore Spirited Away, Muse, Affair, Cinnabar, Meet Me In Berlin, the list goes on. But if I had to pick one, it would be Painterly. You are so right when you say it can shift color, and I love that about it, especially when I travel. It's like having 3 lippies in one!
Yes! I love the chameleon-like/changeableness of Painterly, and Spirited Away. I feel like some of the velvets do that too depending on if they're applied full force, or if they're blotted down. (Affair, Sorcery, Cinnabar, Dragon, Duchess, Enchantment, Rain, Bloom) It's such a cool thing to have a lipstick that can work with so many different looks.
Totally agree with what you said about the balms. I just love seeing how these lipsticks look different on other people! Thanks for sharing! See, Intrigue & Meet Me in Berlin look wonderful on you but I wear them the least out of these. I'm a light neutral olive 9/9.5 in her foundation. Kitten Mischief is the exact color of my bare lips. I wear Muse the most, it's almost down to a nub; it's much pinker on you but on me it's pinkish brown and a 'my lips but better' type of shade. Cinnabar and Sorcery are my standout shades here along with Painterly & Spirited Away for a more casual look. Fawn is my nude lip for heavily made-up eyes. My other favorites are Dragon, Blush, Morning, Ribbon, Rainbow Spill, Skyscraper Rose, and Petal. I honestly have to make myself wear my others from different brands because I love Lisa's formulas/colors so much. I usually end up mostly just sniffing them because I love scented lipsticks lol. Thanks again!
I have to force myself to use other brands too. I'm such a fan of the brand and the colors are phenomenal! I love how the shades still work for both of us and you're an olive undertone and I'm neutral. That's a bit of magic in my book! I wish the new baumes were less likely to travel. I don't worry about the lighter shades, but the red and blackberry shades need a liner or my lips look a mess. 😥

I second that request! Some shades are very similar but with different formulas and I have different formula preferences for different colour depths.

Cinnabar, Muse, Painterly and Meet Me in Berlin are a couple of my favorites! Blush is my absolute favorite and most worn color though. I think Affair is the color I have the most trouble with, I think the red in Cinnabar make it flattering on me despite it being warm, but Affair almost give me the painted on-effect that you describe. For nudes I think I need a more pink undertone - I struggle a bit with Fawn as well but it easier to pair with a liner. Meet Me in Berlin lets my own colors through so it reads kind of plummy brown on my lips.
I love that there's some transparency to the lucent formula so your natural lip color comes into play. It can be hard with the Velvets and the Insanely Saturated shades because they're so opaque. You can always blot them down, or lightly pat them on without applying them full force, but I understand where you're coming from .
I'm fortunate to have a neutral undertone, so I can wear almost any shade. There are some that I prefer over others, but I can make almost any shade work. Thanks so much for watching today.
Love this series but wow your hair today is stunning! Like Cher in Moonstruck! Wearing kitten mischief today - definitely one of my top favorite LE shades. I keep debating getting velvet fawn but I have muse and they seem very close to me.
Fawn is more of a neutral nude where Muse is a pink leaning nude. They are similar and I don't think you'd need to have both unless nude lipstick is all you wear. I know you love many different shades, so you're probably good with Muse. Thanks for the hair compliment. All I can think of is the slap "Snap out of it!" I love Moonstruck, but haven't watched it in a while.
I love these videos! My favourite formula is the lucent, though I like the true velvet and the saturated ones too. I have a three lipstick rule for my handbag (which I breach with abandon) and atm two of the three are LE ( Rose official and Meet Cute) (the third is an SPF lippy) I haven't decided on a red yet and now need to consider Red Curve too. I haven't tried the liquid lips. Thoughts on those? X

I'm not a liquid lipstick kind of gal, so they're not my favorite. I only have 2 and I don't plan on purchasing more. The formula is comfortable, and fairly long wearing. I like that it doesn't dry my lips out, but I never reach for them because I'm not a liquid lipstick girlie. My best friend loves them and is a liquid lipstick girlie. She says they're the most comfortable liquid lipsticks she has, and reaches for them all the time. I think it comes down to preference.

My most worn Lucent is probably Kitten Mischief. I love peachy pink! I’ve never tried Meet me in Berlin because it’s never in stock! I know I’d love it! Meet Me in Berlin and Sorcery are the next two LE lippies on my “to buy” list. (Plus Epanoui!)
All 3 of those shades are so beautiful. I've learned over the past week that the Baume shades don't last very long on me. I tend to reapply every 70-90 minutes and I don't need a mirror. The darkest 2 require a liner or they leave my lip line, but I don't mind doing that. I don't have to have a liner with the mattes or the lucents. Sorcery and Meet Me In Berlin are some of my favorites.

My favourite shade is Velvet Morning. My favourite formula is: either Luxuriously Lucent adding a touch of extra colour from a Velvet, or Velvet/Saturated with a lipliner, and if I want to add a bit of shine, adding a bit of the Luxuriously Lucent.
I don't have Dance Card. I can't say if there are any similarities, but I know Le Mepris is the lightest shade and more beige leaning than the rest of the lucent lipsticks. I don't love a peach lippie, so I've never purchased Dance Card.
I love adding a touch of a lucent on top of the other lipsticks. If a velvet seems too heavy, I'll blot it and top it with a lucent. I love the colors and the textures of all of these.
The new Moisture Baume looks lovely BUT I am sensitive to coconut oil and LE mentioned this ingredient in them. But my favourite nudes are definitely Spirited Away, Muse and Blush (can I regard this as a nude?). Like you, I like a little depth of colour.
I love Blush! Such a stunning shade. Spirited Away and Muse are so frequently put into rotation in my collection. I really enjoy this brand. The new Baume formula is very moisturizing, but it's not terribly long lasting. I need a liner with the 2 darkest shades because the formula travels outside my vermillion border. It's not as noticeable with the lightest 3 shades, but can look a little messy with the red and the blackberry shades.

These comparison videos are so helpful! Spirited away is one of my favourite shades. It’s the perfect match when I’m wearing coral tones on the eyes and cheeks. It’s not a coral lipstick but has just enough of warm-cool balance. Describing it as a chameleon colour is very apt.

Your videos have been such a helpful resource for me as I wanted to purchase my first Lisa Eldridge lipstick and didn’t know what I wanted-I thought I settled on rose official, as painterly always seemed to look too brown for my taste, but rose official seemed too pink for a true everyday. However this time I see painterly swatched it really looks like that perfect deeper nude shade I am looking for!

I'm so happy that you found this helpful. That's always my goal. Painterly is one of my most used shades, and I love how it can pull more mauve or more brown depending on what I surround it with. I think everybody's nude can be different. Velvet blush can look vampy on me and in one of Lisas's videos there was a model whose nude was this same colour. I have light to medium skin and I dislike very peachy/light toned concealer shades like the nudes of the 90' 😅
I never loved the lighter peachy nudes of the 90s or the ones with too much of a white base to them. I look crazy in lipsticks like that. I agree that everyone's nude can be different. I love these shades and formulas. Thanks so much for watching today.
Spirited Away is my absolute favourite, there is something about this red (to me it is a version of red), it just has something that I have always been looking for and never found in another colour. I have almost all of her lipsticks, and if I could just pick a few, it would be Spirited Away, Muse and Sorcery plus Metropolis of the new line ( this shade also has something special about it idk what, but it is so it for me) .
I love that you have favorites you pull for all the time. I LOVE spirited away. I feel like it's a great chameleon color. Sometimes it's a pinky nude on me and sometimes it's more earthy. Same with painterly. My faves are Berlin, painterly, ribbon, kitten mischief, spirited away and palazzo. I'm enjoying the lighter shades in the Baume Embrace because I don't need a mirror to apply them. Red Curve and Metropolis both need a lip liner or they go outside my lip line. I still enjoy them, but they take more effort.

I love your LE lipsticks video's. I can watch them over and over again. I love le mepris and i noticed that the shade is alonst identical to the new baume shade in meet cute. I love that one to. ( even with the flavour). I love kitten mischief ( but I don't know were it is... it have to be somewhere in my pockets or purses, I have to find it) I mis it... I love velvet fawn really as a nude. I have a love hate relationship with velvet muse. Sometimes I love it and some days i think the color is not for me, depending on my mood and de other makeup i wear... My favorite formula in LE classic lipsticks is definitely the insanely saturated formula, it is so nice on the lips, feels so smooth and lightwaight but with maximum color. ( got the strawberry shock shade). And even with my fear for reds and bold colors on the lips. It will be my favorite red in my collection. I hope the weather will go from cold and rainy to sunny really soon than I will wear a colorfull blouse and my bright lipstick.

I really love Meet Cute, and I've been reaching for it so much. Much more than I reach for Le Mepris. I dont' understand why since they're so similar. Fawn and Muse are two of my most used shades. I really love them. I also am head over heels for the Insanely saturate formula. I use Strawberrry Shock & Skyscraper Rose the most. I really love that formula. I just ordered three new lippies along with my new Natasha gold palette 😂 but every time I see a video with Lisa lippies, I get really itchy to buy. I am definitely going to need to look into them as her colors look stunning. I was happy to hear a more comprehensive review of her new balms - they seem beautiful and comfy but not enough pigment for me 😂
If you're looking for something that won't travel outside the vermillion border, the baumes aren't it. I don't mind with the lightest 3, but I NEED a lip liner with the darker 2. I love the way they feel, and how comfortable and hydrating they are, but you need to reapply all the time. I know that's a deal breaker for most people. I feel like the other 3 formulas are amazing, but I have a super soft spot for the Lucents. Especially this time of year.
Delicious. I have been slow to buy the new lippies from Lisa because I love Luxurious Lucents so much, and they make my lips feel great.
The new baume embrace lippies are not long wearing, and they all travel outside my vermillion border. I don't mind with the lightest 3 shades, but it looks messy with the red and the blackberry. I feel like a lip liner helps to keep them inside my lip line, but they're not as "easy" as I'd like. I've been reaching for the lightest 3 all this last week because they're so comfy, but I'm reapplying every 75-90 minutes.

I think Velvet Sorcery applied more heavily really compliments your eyes and makes your eye color so rich! You say you blot it but I think it is just beautiful on you full force! For me, Rose Official goes in my nudes. I know it's pink to some, but its a nude-pink on me. Also, Spirited Away and Painterly are in my nudes, too.

@@thelipstickgal it was the one lipstick she wasn’t releasing with a bunch of others during summer a few years ago because the larger production attempt failed her standards. She said she still wanted to work on it but hasn’t release it 😭 Only in Gloss which I finished but really want her to finalize the lipstick version which everyone loved in her video where she actually showed it

I didn’t pick up any of her new balms, I don’t care for the texture and they also get in my lip lines even with a liner, maybe I’m just applying it wrong cause my lipstick always crosses over the lip liner😂 someone mentioned in LE video that hers tasted like a bad chapstick. I had Fawn but gave it to my niece, it was a very pretty color but just didn’t look good on my skintone. My favorites that I have are Insanely saturated - Rainbow spill, Strawberry Shock. Thanks, I've been switching up my hair products. I'm liking the change. I don't think that the balms will work for everyone. I love a melty, soft, glossy product, but the darker shades look messy on me after a while and I need a lip liner to make them work. None of mine tasted like a bad chapstick. I didn't notice a scent, and I've really enjoyed the colors.
I LOVE the insanely saturated lipsticks. Strawberry shock, Rainbow Spill, and Skyscraper rose are some of my favorites. I also adore the Lucent formula. There are so many good options out there. Thanks for watching.

Great video. I'm wondering if any of the Luxuriously Lucent lipsticks might be close to Velvet Sorcery in terms of the color, but just less pigmented?
I can't think of a lucent that's similar to Sorcery in tone. I know that there's a Sorcery lip gloss. That's going to be less pigmented and hydrating. The closest I'd say would be a mix of Berlin and Painterly.
@@thelipstickgal I do have the Sorcery lip gloss and like it, but I don't know that I will use a lipstick that is that pigmented very much. I do have Berlin and Painterly and like them both, and can see how something in between could be really attractive. Thanks so much for the information!

I’m not much of a nude lipstick wearer and most of these are, or turn, too peachy/orange for me (I have muted, slightly olive skin (Lisas foundation in 2.5 is a perfect match for me, but my skin is too sensitive for the formula)). However I do enjoy Muse and Painterly is on my wishlist, but my current favourite is Velvet Rain.
I'm sorry that you can't wear Lisa's foundation. I wear shade 2, but when I got an updated sample card with 2.5 I tried it on. I look a little green. : ) I'm so glad that brands are including olive tones in their foundation choices. I can see that with your undertone the warmer nudes would look too orange on you. I love Muse and Painterly. Velvet Rain is stunning. You might also like the Lucent in Night Thoughts. It's swatched in the Pink LE video I did a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful, cool berry shade that's sheer.
I had no idea I was olive until recently, thanks to Kackie and her colour theory info. I was so surprised, I’m swedish so I hadn’t even considered it. I’m slightly warm olive so I can wear 3 as well but 2.5 is perfect! I use the sample as a reference for mixing mineral foundations to match.
I’ll have to check out Night Thoughts, I’d previously dismissed it as too dark and too cool (I still need a bit of warmth and I’m low/medium contrast ) but I’ll have another look :) Thank you!

I am super fair skinned like you. I feel in love with the lightest shades in whatever formula she launched. I don't have any lip gloss and though that the super light shades wouldn't work on me. However, they work because of LISA'S MAGIC, and because they lean warmer than other brands I tried that pulled cooler and gave canceler lips look. I regret not having pompador instead of enchantment, because I got that and rain and to me they are the same (on me). The one I gave away was meet me in Berlin, due to my ignorance of buying something that makes me look with a sepia filter (my red tones). My favourites are from the super saturated, but I don't have new wave. That one seems fantastic, and carnival. I guess my favourite would be skyscraper rose and strawberry shock. I love ribbon and duchess but find it that I look too dressed up for the wardrobe that I currently have. My least favourite is night thoughts, but because it gives a bit of the vampy with sepia filter due to my undertone.
Reality is that everything I have (and I certainly don't have all her shades but I have a lot) I see them as art. They work somehow, but it is just how else I compose the rest of the look. As you mentioned, there is something about them, where color wheel theory just woks. I can't see myself buying more of her lip balms, and I regretted getting the red rather the fig one, just because it can be messy, but also because you need to reapply. It would be too expensive to use them up and constantly replace it.
My favorite is the Velvet formula. Ribbon, Blush Lightly, Muse, Enchantment, Petal. Those are some of my favorite shades. I also am obsessed with Meet Me In Berlin, Night Thoughts, Kitten Mischief, Palazzo, Je Ne Sais Qoui, and Spirited Away. There's not a single shade that I have from the brand that I don't enjoy wearing, there are just some that make me feel invincible. I love Lisa's knowledge of color theory, and how to create shades that work so well on everyone.

@@bruninhamrso I was surprised to see that she was getting rid of those two pallets. I have all of the palettes, but I use myth the least.
I looked over the items she's discontinuing, and I either already have them or I know I won't use that shade.

Most of her single shadows were still out of stock, but whatever else was left wasn't part of the sales, so that gave me a big twist in my head. I am curious to see what else she brings. My only hope is to see if she would/could launch a brown mascara. My blond eyelashes would feel blessed

I may have to check out that Le Mepris as I love peaches -- but does it have not much coverage and not last long ? I'm not a fan of my lips shining through. I have some pigmentation to cover on my lips, and sometimes mattes get monotonous... But maybe that's the only thing that will conceal my issues I dunno.... Thanks for the demo !! 😊❤️👄
Le Mepris is fairly sheer. I'm not sure it's going to do what you're hoping for. 🤷♀️
Thanks for the compliment on the makeup. I've been enjoying liquid shadows recently, and it's an entire eye look using liquids only. I'm also really loving the blush I picked up from about - face. It's such a great color.
I tried the Lisa Eldridge olive foundation in shade 2.5 and I looked sick. 🤢 It's very similar to the shade I normally wear in 2, but it's too green. I really don't think I'm an olive skin tone.

I always describe Spirited Away as a terracotta nude. The lightest nude from Lisa I have is Muse, Fawn and Intrigue look a bit like they might be too nude for me. I adore Affair...it has a touch of grunge which I love. And Sorcery....the queen of grunge nudes!
I love the warmth that Spirited Away has, and frequently forget that it's listed on the brand's website as a Rosewood shade. I have never thought of it as a rosy shade, but rather a brighter nude shade. That's why I lumped it in with the rest in this video. I always forget how stunning Affair is, and I need to reach for Sorcery more. I have been loving cooler lip shades, and doing this video is always a way to reintroduce myself to shades I frequently forget about. Thanks for watching.

When I packed all my makeup for the trip.I took all almost of LE products and put on my package.I experience lost my luggage before.What I love I just have to carry on the plan with me along with my little kids stuff to do on the plane.

I love Kitten Mischief! Warm, pinky nudes look best on me. I can do peach as long as it’s not too light, and it doesn’t have too much white in it. On me, Spirited Away looks straight up mauve unless I pair it with a brown liner. It was the shade I was most excited for, but it just doesn’t give me the effect I hoped for. Overall, I love her lipsticks! I hope Red Curve comes out in the luxuriously lucent formula.
Kitten Mischief is one of my faves. (also Spirited Away) I reach for them all the time, and love the lucent formula so much. I would love to see more shades in the lucent formula as well as the Insanely Saturated formula. Thanks so much for watching today.
Hmm if we go with google description of what is NUDE lipstick color a lot of these are definitely not nude or at least not nude for fair skin tones. And almost all of LE's lipsticks are so orange and warm toned, not a single one that is a true neutral or cool even though they also can give youn a fresh lively look. And if even neutral tones pull of warm(er) on some people its like she totally exluded them.
Idk, Rose Official is pretty darned cool-toned, as is Velvet Fawn (I’m fairer than fair, with cool undertones, and it’s a hideous shade of dark-grey-brown on me 😅).
I actually think it’s great that LE doesn’t focus solely on “nude” shades for fair skin, as they work for only a tiny minority of the population, and are available in abundance from other brands (although I selfishly wish she would bring out a shade similar to MAC’s old “Patisserie” shade *sobs*).
@jslilimauve I'm sorry that you can't seem to find a nude from LE that works for you. I don't think that the LE lipsticks are all warm and orange toned. I have a neutral skin tone, so I can wear almost any shade, but there are so many cool shades from this brand. We may disagree on what constitutes a nude so you may not have a shade in this grouping of lipsticks that looks good on you.
I appreciate that Lisa uses a wide range of models on her website to show how the shades look on various skin tones with various under tones. I think that most of the LE lipsticks would work on a wide range of people. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and making the time to watch today.

Velvet Beauty definitely has cold undertones and Blush lightly has rather cold undertone. Same for Skyscraper rose and Rainbow spill, cold undertones.

I really love Lisa's lipsticks. Thank you for swatching so many of them! I just ordered the balm embrace in Epanoui and the Lucent in the classic rose color. I'm definitely a cool nude person, but the Velvet Painterly is probably my favorite from the entire line because it just goes with everything and is so comfortable to wear. I also like Velvet Duchess, Midnight, and Blush Lightly.

Thanks for this LE lip series. I love her lipsticks. I may want to try the balms, I don't know . Oh crap, I know I do.
I really love how the balms feel on the lips. One thing to keep in mind is that they travel outside my lip line. It's not noticeable in the lightest 3 shades, but with the red and the blackberry, it can look a little messy. I have mature lips that are losing volume and developing more lines at the edge. If you don't deal with lined lips, I think you'd love these. Just be ready to reapply regularly. They don't last very long on me.
