I also have a lot of lipstick and struggled for a while of organizing it and losing track of "favorites". What finally ended up working for me is using one of those wall acrylic organizers that are used for nail polish and then I organize by color and then finish, reds all together and then setup by matte, satin, gloss, liquid lip. It's been working really well for me and is great for shop my stash.

SAME!! I just turned 50 this year and Poppy lipsticks were just the coolest when I was at uni. I had to save up to buy them, they weren’t inexpensive for a student! But totally worth it! My fave shade was Indolence, a pinky nude.
OMG I just checked out the poppy king website (didn’t know it existed until now!!!) and saw that the original seven deadly sins lippies from the 90’s have been re-released! I will have to buy some for sure!!!
I remember hearing about them as a lipstick obsessed college student, but couldn't afford them. I think I read about Poppy in a magazine. When she reemerged with Lipstick Queen years ago, I was obsessed. I had so many it was criminal! I'm glad she's back with the original shades and formulas, but wish the packaging was a bit elevated. I might try one of the Seven Deadly sins when they're finally available to purchase here in the US.
IMO the first lipstick the Lisa Eldridge one, looks cool. IMO you suit the Poppy King one, and, IMO you are quite right to complain about the Clé de Peau packaging. I have Raspberry Radiance and I cannot decide as to whether or not to buy it again because the packaging is drugstore and does not fit into my lipstick slots in my perspex lipstick stand and the lipstick is middle market. For me, I keep my makeup in the fridge and I rotate my lipsticks by season and I have some I have not yet worn but plan to.
I should get a fridge just for my lippies. (a little drink fridge would do the trick.) That's a great idea, and would make them last longer. There's no room in my regular fridge for anything other than food, and I'd hate my lippies to start smelling like leftovers. : ) I like the Lisa Eldridge bold color and I'm not mad at the Poppy King one. The Cle de Peau packaging makes me so upset, and the "mid" formula isn't my favorite. Thanks so much for watching.
It's definitely books for me! Similar situation that I have a book-related channel...so I acquire a lot of new books and forget about the ones I already bought. I can see how that would happen with lipstick too. Great video as always!! 🥰
I got into watching beauty UA-cam to get color descriptions of everything since my color vision is wonky. (Red-green) I keep a small collection and know what coordinates with what. I organize my lipsticks by “zone”- so on a scale of light to dark - and have two rows of lipsticks loosely arranged by “this is more natural” and generally low saturation and “this is a statement lip” and usually a bolder more opaque color 😂 I always have a quick 4-5 available on my counter with my monthly makeup capsule and I know that everything coordinates together. I can reach in my drawer if I want something in particular. My roommate is an oil painter and is always helpful in giving a second opinion when I ask him, especially if I buy a new item. I find much more enjoyment wearing bold colors on my eyes than my lips, so I’ve really narrowed down my collection to things Im confident about and know well what lip coordinates with what blush or eyeshadow etc. And fwiw I used to be a caregiver for a makeup obsessed woman with low vision! She was very happy to have a care attendant who grasped her organization system and I probably picked up a few tips from her now that I think about it!

I really LOVED LE New Wave on you! It made your face light up! I can see it even in the winter when you want some brightness when it’s been dreary. I don’t have as many lipsticks as you do, but I do have a little over 100. I store my lipsticks by shade. I keeps all the reds together, berries, nudes, pinks, corals, etc. I then start with lightest to deepest within each shade.For browns, pinks, and reds I also have different rows for warms from cools in shade depth…warms first then cools because I use both warm and cool tones of that shade. I do this I do this so when I know “I want a coral lip” they are all right there. I then decide on depth and then matte or satin and BOOM it’s right there. This also fixes the “what shade is this” when storing lipsticks that look alike, like LE. My Velvet Duchess and Velvet Dragon are both reds but they sit in different categories of my red area because one is warm and the other is cool. (Also just for reds I have one row of “easy” reds. They are not RED RED but something you can just throw on that gives you the red feeling but it’s not a RED LIP day.) I’m 56 and I do have to wear wear lipliner every day now. (I never even owned a single lipliner until I was over 48. I wondered “why do people even bother?” Now time has shown me why! 😂 I store my lip liners in color families, too.
I love the idea of storing liners and lipsticks by shade (and cool and warm tones within those shade collections) I have about 400 glosses, lipstick and liners, so I'm pretty full up. It would be a serious undertaking to store them all by color family. I don't have holders that work for every size of lipstick case. Sometimes I store by size. (and brand) I just went to Amazon and ordered some large lipstick holders. I hope they'll fit my new Lisa Eldridge Rouge Experience cases. They're huge! The older I get, the more I start reaching for my lip liners. It's a reality these days. I'm still looking for low fuss formulas, but I have a ton of liners to go along with my lippies.
I love videos like this ❤ I think you’d like the Gucci shine formula in the shade ‘Call it a Day’. It’s such a pretty nude mauve- the perfect purse lipstick! I personally love their sheer voile formula- it’s a little stiffer (but still very moisturizing) so it stays put. I also have the YSL couture lipsticks, they’re one of my favorite formulas. They reapply over themselves so well. N8 is my favorite bright summer pink, 157 is my go to ‘daytime’ red and I’m going to pick up another shade while they’re 30% for Black Friday. That Byredo lipstick is beyond gorgeous on you! I think it’s a great shade for late fall and late winter.
I have Love is Better in the Gucci Voile formula, and it's a perfect everyday pink for me. Not too much, and just enough. I love the YSL couture formula as well, and would love to have a few more. These are almost all total knockouts, and suit you so well. (I think the lighter shades just don't have enough oomph for your colouring.) Byredo is one of my new loves this year; I love the aesthetics of the line. I have a satin lipstick in Damson Jam, which is gorgeous. I “only” 😆own 14 or 15 currently and don’t have any truly repeat colors but what I do store them grouped by the 2 formulas and them visually from lightest to darkest or vice versa if I had multiples of similar colors I think for me I would group by color family then my formula then lightest to darkest personally 😀 I feel like that would help me see what to grab for each day based on the look and formula I wanted that day
Kitten Mischeif, Je Ne Sais Quoi, Lisa, or Fawn are great every day shades for me, but I'm pale. You might like some other shades better. I wish LE was available to swatch in stores here in the US.
Living for a straight lippie video. 😊 As far as storage of lippies, now that I am approaching 100+ I also need to get some kind of a storage unit/shelf - as well as one for my makeup since my collection is expanding. Like you, the one item I find hard to use up are lippies. I have an amazing system for using more of my lippies. I started wearing two or three different lipsticks of the same color every day depending on what I’m wearing. For instance, I will apply a really good tinted bomb in the morning before breakfast, then I will apply a glossy lippie of the same color before I have my lunch, and then I’ll apply a lipstick after lunch for the rest of the day. It seems crazy, but it gets me rotating thru more of my products.😊
I love your system. I usually start with a lipstick (matte or satin) and then move to a balm by mid day if I happen to be spending the day at home. If I'm running errands or have appointments, I'm carting that lipstick with me everywhere I go!

Thanks so much, I really like the Hourglass blush, but I have to be so light handed. It's easy with this shade to over blush. I also really like the "new to me" Westman Atelier bronzer/contour in biscuit. I LOVE the new Viseart palette, it's such a beautiful collection of shades.
Loved all of these on you except for the two orangey/peach ones. Definatley organize by colour! I have a tiny collection but only Lisa Eldridge lipsticks (I recently decluttered my remaining non LE lipstick) and as the bullets all look the same, grouping by colour is my way of not having to look at every lipstick I own in search of the one I’m looking for.
I have my LE lippies organized by color with in the brand. I really like having them all together in one place. I'm thinking about color coordinating all my lipsticks, but that might make things harder for me to find. I usually think of brand first, then color when I'm looking for a specific shade.

And I can totally see you rocking this terracotta from Gucci with a warm brown makeup. Personally, I have a HUGE collection of earrings, more than 300 pairs. I collected them throughout the years, bought some on exclusive events, during trips, and got as gifts. My obsession with earrings started when I was small, and then kinda worsened when I lost everything I had in the move from one country to the other (I was 14). It is true that it's impossible to remember them all, but what I am sure of: I have a matching pair for ANY outfit. 😂 I am only getting rid of them if they stop looking nice, at least for now. 😅
I have a pretty huge earring collection, but not nearly as many as you do. I love that you have something to match any outfit. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to reorganize my lipsticks as well. Mine are also organized by brand. I'm thinking of reorganizing by cool, neutral, and warm and then breaking them out further by contrast (high, medium, low). Something like that. 😊
I find that when I take the time to re-organize my makeup I discover things that I completely forgot about. I find it easiest to keep in in order by brand for the time being. I'll have to see if it's worth mixing them up by color and what's warm and what's cool. Thanks for watching today.
Granted, I do not have the number of lipsticks that you have, but I tend to take the lipsticks that work (usually seasonally) for me in a more convenient drawer. Believe it or not, that convenience drawer is in my living room. I just find it easier to pick them up and apply them there.The rest are stored in my upstairs bathroom until I am ready to swap them to the downstairs.
I love the idea of a lippie drawer in my living room. Something to grab before walking out the door for the day. It would also keep my lip balms contained. I have balmdot com stashed around the house in nearly every room!
I found that colourpop bff or Ashton any cool liner takes all the warm out of too orangy lipsticks for me now I can wear so many more of mine that I thought was in the wrong shade file 🤣🤣🤣 I need to organize mine by colors so very badly LOL!
I discovered Byredo makeup this year, and now have three of the lipsticks. I enjoy the formula and shades, but the packaging is beyond fabulous. Not worth it just for that, but fabulous nonetheless. I just tried the Shiseido lipstick, in Shizuka Red. I was looking for a brownish tone and this is perfect for what I wanted. The packaging is surprisingly nice too. I also tried my first Tom Ford recently, and was gifted a deluxe lip sample. The formula is chef's kiss. So tempting, but so pricey. Thanks for sharing.
I really love the Byredo packaging. It's stunning. Truly a treat. I like the Shiseido lipsticks too. I have Red Code and this one in mauve. So comfortable and I really like how it wears. Je Ne Se Quoi has more brown in it (on my lips) and Audrey is more salmon pink. I should do some arm swatches. I don't have Casablanca. There are many TF lippies I'd love to have, but can't bring myself to purchase any more at the moment.

Oooo the things I used to over but that I would loose track of being able to actually use what I love was definitely eyeshadow palettes untill last year when i dramatically decluttered and actually took the time to figure out what I love using and set a system up for myself as far as purchasing and keeping to use products so what I did was really look at types of the colors stories I enjoy most and I keep one palette in that color story and I’ve decided to go off of a one palette in one palette out purchasing system unless there is a specific color story type that is missing from what I own … right now that is cool tone purples and warm tone greens that I am somewhat looking for palettes that would suit those color stories but that’s all I’m looking for in palettes at the moment … I went down from a total of 40 or 50 over the last several years, because I had lots of smaller ones, to 8 mid size palettes and 8 mini palettes as companions to some of the mid size palettes and my max number I’ve set for both is 10 each for storage and use purposes 😀
What a ruthless declutter. I need to do something similar, but I'm not ready yet. I feel like eyeshadow and lipsticks get easily "lost" in my collection. I get something new, and it moves to the front of my collection and mind. Other stuff moves to the back, and forgotten. Some of these were really beautiful, and I need to wear them more! @@thelipstickgal yes the letting lost in the back of my collection is what I found had happened to all my smaller palettes when I looked at what I had accumulated previously during my declutter process i figured out that really I prefer larger palettes to smaller ones because I do better with a smaller number of palettes but still get plenty of choices of looks and I was just never reaching for my small palettes over my bigger ones so I only kept small palettes that really felt like they extended the color story of a lager palette I was keeping

I know the Lisa Eldridge Ribbon lipstick in the Rouge Experience formula doesn't go outside my lip lines at all. I LOVE that about it. I also have a Dior Velvet that stays put. It's in 999. I also love the Armani Satin lipsticks in 400. All 3 I would consider low maintenance in my collection. They're all different shades of red. Of course the Armani and the Dior come in different tones of red depending on your preference.
Not that you or I or anyone needs more temptation this time of year, but the YSL bold shine lipsticks are half price on Sephora - I think the formula may be getting phased out but I know it’s one of your favorites.

I dont have a ton ton of lip products and they're all basically balms and glosses (i own one lipstick and its the merit 😂) but watchung creators store theirs by brand i always thought to myself it would be most helpful to store it by shade(or maybe formula and shade) the way you described sounded like it would be helpful. ones that you can wear with anything and ones that you can slap on and theyre a statement in themselves (and then organize by color within that) i actually think some people may organize by brand as a sales tactic so you can see just how much they love that product when you see how many shades of it they have. Maybe not...maybe it really is the most helpful way to organize.
@@heatherLcharron I organized by shade within the brand. I'll recall that I have a favorite peach from Chanel. Then I go looking amongst my Chanel lipsticks for that shade. It's how I categorize this in my mind, and if I had everything by color, it would take a while to relearn my new system. 🤷♀️

I’m a knitter so for me it’s wool yarn. lol. I have essentially an entire yarn shop worth of yarn in my office. I’ve been on a yarn no buy for literally 2 years and I still feel like I haven’t made a dent in my stash even though I know alllllll of the time. 🤷🏻♀️

I crochet and my yarn stash isn't very large, but I've already been banned from buying more. 😂 I started out buying acrylic yarn because I was just learning, now I have a lot of stuff I don't want to use. I'm trying to switch to only natural fibers but I still have a lot of acrylic to use. I only learned to crochet a few years ago, but it's one of my favorite things to do.
@ oh that’s so cool! I’ve tried crocheting and really like it though I’m not very good yet. I think crochet is supposed to be faster but i do it so infrequently it feels like it takes me forever to do anything. I really should lean into it more though. Maybe I could get through my stash faster if I did. And I know what you mean about acrylic. I can’t stand the squeaky feeling of it on my hands anymore. :/ too bad because it’s so much more economical.
Lipstick is definitely the item that I have the most of. I am a collector so I don’t always buy lipsticks with the intention of wearing them, rather as a beautiful collectable and displayable object. I have some limited edition lipsticks with beautiful embossing on the bullet which I would never use because the embossing would fade of course. And I have others that I just buy because of gorgeous packaging, for example Dior Rouge Premier which is BY FAR the most expensive beauty item I have ever bought. Granted I could wear it because the formula is beautiful but I would never put it in my bag for reapplying as it could get scratched. So no reapply is a no-go. I own every Lisa Eldridge lipstick ever made and it is hands-down the best brand in my opinion so I don’t feel the need to use any other brand on a day to day basis. It has to be a very special color or formula from a different brand to actually get me to wear anything outside of LE 💋
I agree,every formula of Lisa's lipstick is unbeatable. If I could have every shade she made I wouldn't bother to check different brands. For now I had 8 of them across all formulas

I too have come to the realization that I have a lot beautiful makeup that need to be used more, and buy less. Love to shop for the next beautiful thing, but with brands getting too greedy (Chanel $200 lipstick,) I am preferring to shop my stash and keep my money in my pocket.

Hi! I’ve cut down my lipstick collection to about 80 products so it’s now under control but my perfume collection has gotten bigger and I need to rotate a lot… I don’t know why we create such a headache for ourselves. 😅😂
If it's not one thing, it's another. I love fragrance, but usually stick to 4 or 5 that I rotate through. It's the makeup I can't seem to stop purchasing. :)
Lipstick is my obsession and I’m too afraid to count how many I have. I would love a neater way to store mine as well. Lipstick queen!!!! That was my favorite. I had so many beautiful nudes. Unfortunately they turned bad pretty quick and started smelling like and tasting like crayons 😢
Lipstick Queen was so good! I loved the Silver Screen and Velvet Ropes. I had all of them. I had so many of the Sinner and Saint lipsticks along with all the Jazz lipstick. I had nearly every one of the sheer balm lippies. (Medieval, Hello Sailor, Snow Queen, Frog Prince, Queen Bee, Black Rabbit, ect.) I also had all the matte pencils and many of the glosses. I just adored that line. Now, I have a huge collection of different brands, and I love going through it to re-discover what I have. Hi, I know the Shiseido Streaming mauve, I had it 3 times, nowadays I do not find these lipsticks where I live anymore. The problem I had with it is that I used it everyday and l run out of it in 3-4 months so at the end of the year it was expensive. The texture is very similar to the kiko unlimited stylo, jelly in the beginning then matte. The only one product I forgot about is a catrice lipstick which is actually a dupe for the LE new wave (scandalous matte in 80 I think), it is a colour I really like, I just do not reach for it...
I found my Shiseido lipstick on Amazon. That's not where I would normally buy lip products, but I did my research first and just couldn't find it locally.
I love a bold punchy shade like your catrice lipstick or my LE New Wave, but I forget that I have them, and they lanquish in a drawer or the back of a shelf. : ( I really like the Shiseido formula, and now I'm interested in trying the Kiko stylo. Thanks for pointing that similarity out.
I had bought like 4 of the Clinique pop lipsticks in the old formula and although I liked the formula, the packaging was terrible. All my lipsticks pulled away from the inner tube and became wobbly and the lipsticks broke or were difficult to apply because they were so loose. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue?
I never had any problems with the old formula. It sounds like the lipsticks you purchased were old, and dehydrated. That will happen as a lipstick ages.

I’m from Australia and I was absolutely OBSESSED with Poppy King lipsticks in the 90s!
SAME!! I just turned 50 this year and Poppy lipsticks were just the coolest when I was at uni. I had to save up to buy them, they weren’t inexpensive for a student! But totally worth it! My fave shade was Indolence, a pinky nude.
OMG I just checked out the poppy king website (didn’t know it existed until now!!!) and saw that the original seven deadly sins lippies from the 90’s have been re-released! I will have to buy some for sure!!!
I remember hearing about them as a lipstick obsessed college student, but couldn't afford them. I think I read about Poppy in a magazine. When she reemerged with Lipstick Queen years ago, I was obsessed. I had so many it was criminal! I'm glad she's back with the original shades and formulas, but wish the packaging was a bit elevated. I might try one of the Seven Deadly sins when they're finally available to purchase here in the US.
IMO the first lipstick the Lisa Eldridge one, looks cool. IMO you suit the Poppy King one, and, IMO you are quite right to complain about the Clé de Peau packaging. I have Raspberry Radiance and I cannot decide as to whether or not to buy it again because the packaging is drugstore and does not fit into my lipstick slots in my perspex lipstick stand and the lipstick is middle market. For me, I keep my makeup in the fridge and I rotate my lipsticks by season and I have some I have not yet worn but plan to.
I should get a fridge just for my lippies. (a little drink fridge would do the trick.) That's a great idea, and would make them last longer. There's no room in my regular fridge for anything other than food, and I'd hate my lippies to start smelling like leftovers. : ) I like the Lisa Eldridge bold color and I'm not mad at the Poppy King one. The Cle de Peau packaging makes me so upset, and the "mid" formula isn't my favorite. Thanks so much for watching.

I got into watching beauty UA-cam to get color descriptions of everything since my color vision is wonky. (Red-green) I keep a small collection and know what coordinates with what. I organize my lipsticks by “zone”- so on a scale of light to dark - and have two rows of lipsticks loosely arranged by “this is more natural” and generally low saturation and “this is a statement lip” and usually a bolder more opaque color 😂
I always have a quick 4-5 available on my counter with my monthly makeup capsule and I know that everything coordinates together. I can reach in my drawer if I want something in particular.
My roommate is an oil painter and is always helpful in giving a second opinion when I ask him, especially if I buy a new item.
I find much more enjoyment wearing bold colors on my eyes than my lips, so I’ve really narrowed down my collection to things Im confident about and know well what lip coordinates with what blush or eyeshadow etc.
And fwiw I used to be a caregiver for a makeup obsessed woman with low vision! She was very happy to have a care attendant who grasped her organization system and I probably picked up a few tips from her now that I think about it!

I really LOVED LE New Wave on you! It made your face light up! I can see it even in the winter when you want some brightness when it’s been dreary.
I don’t have as many lipsticks as you do, but I do have a little over 100. I store my lipsticks by shade. I keeps all the reds together, berries, nudes, pinks, corals, etc. I then start with lightest to deepest within each shade.For browns, pinks, and reds I also have different rows for warms from cools in shade depth…warms first then cools because I use both warm and cool tones of that shade. I do this I do this so when I know “I want a coral lip” they are all right there. I then decide on depth and then matte or satin and BOOM it’s right there. This also fixes the “what shade is this” when storing lipsticks that look alike, like LE. My Velvet Duchess and Velvet Dragon are both reds but they sit in different categories of my red area because one is warm and the other is cool. (Also just for reds I have one row of “easy” reds. They are not RED RED but something you can just throw on that gives you the red feeling but it’s not a RED LIP day.)
I’m 56 and I do have to wear wear lipliner every day now. (I never even owned a single lipliner until I was over 48. I wondered “why do people even bother?” Now time has shown me why! 😂 I store my lip liners in color families, too.
I love the idea of storing liners and lipsticks by shade (and cool and warm tones within those shade collections) I have about 400 glosses, lipstick and liners, so I'm pretty full up. It would be a serious undertaking to store them all by color family. I don't have holders that work for every size of lipstick case. Sometimes I store by size. (and brand)
I just went to Amazon and ordered some large lipstick holders. I hope they'll fit my new Lisa Eldridge Rouge Experience cases. They're huge!
The older I get, the more I start reaching for my lip liners. It's a reality these days. I'm still looking for low fuss formulas, but I have a ton of liners to go along with my lippies.

I love videos like this ❤ I think you’d like the Gucci shine formula in the shade ‘Call it a Day’. It’s such a pretty nude mauve- the perfect purse lipstick! I personally love their sheer voile formula- it’s a little stiffer (but still very moisturizing) so it stays put.
I also have the YSL couture lipsticks, they’re one of my favorite formulas. They reapply over themselves so well. N8 is my favorite bright summer pink, 157 is my go to ‘daytime’ red and I’m going to pick up another shade while they’re 30% for Black Friday.
That Byredo lipstick is beyond gorgeous on you! I think it’s a great shade for late fall and late winter.
I have Love is Better in the Gucci Voile formula, and it's a perfect everyday pink for me. Not too much, and just enough.
I love the YSL couture formula as well, and would love to have a few more. I might pick some up during the black friday sales.

These are almost all total knockouts, and suit you so well. (I think the lighter shades just don't have enough oomph for your colouring.) I “only” 😆own 14 or 15 currently and don’t have any truly repeat colors but what I do store them grouped by the 2 formulas and them visually from lightest to darkest or vice versa if I had multiples of similar colors I think for me I would group by color family then my formula then lightest to darkest personally 😀 I feel like that would help me see what to grab for each day based on the look and formula I wanted that day

Kitten Mischeif, Je Ne Sais Quoi, Lisa, or Fawn are great every day shades for me, but I'm pale. You might like some other shades better. I wish LE was available to swatch in stores here in the US.
Living for a straight lippie video. 😊 As far as storage of lippies, now that I am approaching 100+ I also need to get some kind of a storage unit/shelf - as well as one for my makeup since my collection is expanding. Like you, the one item I find hard to use up are lippies. I have an amazing system for using more of my lippies. I started wearing two or three different lipsticks of the same color every day depending on what I’m wearing. For instance, I will apply a really good tinted bomb in the morning before breakfast, then I will apply a glossy lippie of the same color before I have my lunch, and then I’ll apply a lipstick after lunch for the rest of the day. It seems crazy, but it gets me rotating thru more of my products.😊
I love your system. I usually start with a lipstick (matte or satin) and then move to a balm by mid day if I happen to be spending the day at home. If I'm running errands or have appointments, I'm carting that lipstick with me everywhere I go!

Thanks so much, I really like the Hourglass blush, but I have to be so light handed. It's easy with this shade to over blush. I also really like the "new to me" Westman Atelier bronzer/contour in biscuit. I LOVE the new Viseart palette, it's such a beautiful collection of shades.
Loved all of these on you except for the two orangey/peach ones. Definatley organize by colour! I have a tiny collection but only Lisa Eldridge lipsticks (I recently decluttered my remaining non LE lipstick) and as the bullets all look the same, grouping by colour is my way of not having to look at every lipstick I own in search of the one I’m looking for.
I have my LE lippies organized by color with in the brand. I really like having them all together in one place. I'm thinking about color coordinating all my lipsticks, but that might make things harder for me to find. I usually think of brand first, then color when I'm looking for a specific shade.

I agree, I would expect perfection from a $65-$70 lipstick. Perfect packaging, perfect formula, and nuanced colors. None of those things were in the Cle de Peau lipstick. I hope you're enjoying the new TF lippie!

Personally, I have a HUGE collection of earrings, more than 300 pairs. I collected them throughout the years, bought some on exclusive events, during trips, and got as gifts. My obsession with earrings started when I was small, and then kinda worsened when I lost everything I had in the move from one country to the other (I was 14). It is true that it's impossible to remember them all, but what I am sure of: I have a matching pair for ANY outfit. 😂 I am only getting rid of them if they stop looking nice, at least for now. 😅
I have a pretty huge earring collection, but not nearly as many as you do. I love that you have something to match any outfit. I do like the metallic lipsticks, and will take them out for a trial run this holiday season. I forgot how much I loved the formula of the Gucci Brilliant Shine lipstick. It's so good! Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to reorganize my lipsticks as well. Mine are also organized by brand. I'm thinking of reorganizing by cool, neutral, and warm and then breaking them out further by contrast (high, medium, low). Something like that. 😊
I find that when I take the time to re-organize my makeup I discover things that I completely forgot about. I find it easiest to keep in in order by brand for the time being. I'll have to see if it's worth mixing them up by color and what's warm and what's cool. Thanks for watching today.

Granted, I do not have the number of lipsticks that you have, but I tend to take the lipsticks that work (usually seasonally) for me in a more convenient drawer. Believe it or not, that convenience drawer is in my living room. I just find it easier to pick them up and apply them there.The rest are stored in my upstairs bathroom until I am ready to swap them to the downstairs.
I love the idea of a lippie drawer in my living room. Something to grab before walking out the door for the day. It would also keep my lip balms contained. I have balmdot com stashed around the house in nearly every room!
I found that colourpop bff or Ashton any cool liner takes all the warm out of too orangy lipsticks for me now I can wear so many more of mine that I thought was in the wrong shade file 🤣🤣🤣

I discovered Byredo makeup this year, and now have three of the lipsticks. I enjoy the formula and shades, but the packaging is beyond fabulous. Not worth it just for that, but fabulous nonetheless.
I just tried the Shiseido lipstick, in Shizuka Red. I was looking for a brownish tone and this is perfect for what I wanted. The packaging is surprisingly nice too.
I also tried my first Tom Ford recently, and was gifted a deluxe lip sample. The formula is chef's kiss. So tempting, but so pricey.

I got that tiny sample too. The color is not my favorite, but the the formula is so very nice.
Je Ne Se Quoi has more brown in it (on my lips) and Audrey is more salmon pink. I should do some arm swatches. I don't have Casablanca. There are many TF lippies I'd love to have, but can't bring myself to purchase any more at the moment.

Oooo the things I used to over but that I would loose track of being able to actually use what I love was definitely eyeshadow palettes untill last year when i dramatically decluttered and actually took the time to figure out what I love using and set a system up for myself as far as purchasing and keeping to use products so what I did was really look at types of the colors stories I enjoy most and I keep one palette in that color story and I’ve decided to go off of a one palette in one palette out purchasing system unless there is a specific color story type that is missing from what I own … right now that is cool tone purples and warm tone greens that I am somewhat looking for palettes that would suit those color stories but that’s all I’m looking for in palettes at the moment … I went down from a total of 40 or 50 over the last several years, because I had lots of smaller ones, to 8 mid size palettes and 8 mini palettes as companions to some of the mid size palettes and my max number I’ve set for both is 10 each for storage and use purposes 😀
What a ruthless declutter. I need to do something similar, but I'm not ready yet. I feel like eyeshadow and lipsticks get easily "lost" in my collection. I get something new, and it moves to the front of my collection and mind. Other stuff moves to the back, and forgotten. Some of these were really beautiful, and I need to wear them more! @@thelipstickgal yes the letting lost in the back of my collection is what I found had happened to all my smaller palettes when I looked at what I had accumulated previously during my declutter process i figured out that really I prefer larger palettes to smaller ones because I do better with a smaller number of palettes but still get plenty of choices of looks and I was just never reaching for my small palettes over my bigger ones so I only kept small palettes that really felt like they extended the color story of a lager palette I was keeping

I know the Lisa Eldridge Ribbon lipstick in the Rouge Experience formula doesn't go outside my lip lines at all. I LOVE that about it. I also have a Dior Velvet that stays put. It's in 999. I also love the Armani Satin lipsticks in 400. All 3 I would consider low maintenance in my collection. They're all different shades of red. Of course the Armani and the Dior come in different tones of red depending on your preference.
Not that you or I or anyone needs more temptation this time of year, but the YSL bold shine lipsticks are half price on Sephora - I think the formula may be getting phased out but I know it’s one of your favorites.

I dont have a ton ton of lip products and they're all basically balms and glosses (i own one lipstick and its the merit 😂) but watchung creators store theirs by brand i always thought to myself it would be most helpful to store it by shade(or maybe formula and shade) the way you described sounded like it would be helpful. ones that you can wear with anything and ones that you can slap on and theyre a statement in themselves (and then organize by color within that) i actually think some people may organize by brand as a sales tactic so you can see just how much they love that product when you see how many shades of it they have. Maybe not...maybe it really is the most helpful way to organize.
@@heatherLcharron I organized by shade within the brand. I'll recall that I have a favorite peach from Chanel. Then I go looking amongst my Chanel lipsticks for that shade. It's how I categorize this in my mind, and if I had everything by color, it would take a while to relearn my new system. 🤷♀️

I’m a knitter so for me it’s wool yarn. lol. I have essentially an entire yarn shop worth of yarn in my office. I’ve been on a yarn no buy for literally 2 years and I still feel like I haven’t made a dent in my stash even though I know alllllll of the time. 🤷🏻♀️

I crochet and my yarn stash isn't very large, but I've already been banned from buying more. 😂 I started out buying acrylic yarn because I was just learning, now I have a lot of stuff I don't want to use. I'm trying to switch to only natural fibers but I still have a lot of acrylic to use. I only learned to crochet a few years ago, but it's one of my favorite things to do.
@ oh that’s so cool! I’ve tried crocheting and really like it though I’m not very good yet. I think crochet is supposed to be faster but i do it so infrequently it feels like it takes me forever to do anything. I really should lean into it more though. Maybe I could get through my stash faster if I did. And I know what you mean about acrylic. I can’t stand the squeaky feeling of it on my hands anymore. :/ too bad because it’s so much more economical.
Lipstick is definitely the item that I have the most of. I am a collector so I don’t always buy lipsticks with the intention of wearing them, rather as a beautiful collectable and displayable object. I have some limited edition lipsticks with beautiful embossing on the bullet which I would never use because the embossing would fade of course. And I have others that I just buy because of gorgeous packaging, for example Dior Rouge Premier which is BY FAR the most expensive beauty item I have ever bought. Granted I could wear it because the formula is beautiful but I would never put it in my bag for reapplying as it could get scratched. So no reapply is a no-go. I own every Lisa Eldridge lipstick ever made and it is hands-down the best brand in my opinion so I don’t feel the need to use any other brand on a day to day basis. It has to be a very special color or formula from a different brand to actually get me to wear anything outside of LE 💋
I agree,every formula of Lisa's lipstick is unbeatable. If I could have every shade she made I wouldn't bother to check different brands. For now I had 8 of them across all formulas

@@danilibo7005 I think about shade "Lisa" as my nude colour, when I don't want to play with vibrant reds. And because nudes wash me out that midtone shade is "just enough" or "not too much".

I too have come to the realization that I have a lot beautiful makeup that need to be used more, and buy less. Love to shop for the next beautiful thing, but with brands getting too greedy (Chanel $200 lipstick,) I am preferring to shop my stash and keep my money in my pocket.

Hi! I’ve cut down my lipstick collection to about 80 products so it’s now under control but my perfume collection has gotten bigger and I need to rotate a lot… I don’t know why we create such a headache for ourselves. 😅😂
If it's not one thing, it's another. I love fragrance, but usually stick to 4 or 5 that I rotate through. It's the makeup I can't seem to stop purchasing. :)

Lipstick Queen was so good! I loved the Silver Screen and Velvet Ropes. I had all of them. I had so many of the Sinner and Saint lipsticks along with all the Jazz lipstick. I had nearly every one of the sheer balm lippies. (Medieval, Hello Sailor, Snow Queen, Frog Prince, Queen Bee, Black Rabbit, ect.) I also had all the matte pencils and many of the glosses. I just adored that line. Now, I have a huge collection of different brands, and I love going through it to re-discover what I have. Hi, I know the Shiseido Streaming mauve, I had it 3 times, nowadays I do not find these lipsticks where I live anymore. The problem I had with it is that I used it everyday and l run out of it in 3-4 months so at the end of the year it was expensive. The texture is very similar to the kiko unlimited stylo, jelly in the beginning then matte.
The only one product I forgot about is a catrice lipstick which is actually a dupe for the LE new wave (scandalous matte in 80 I think), it is a colour I really like, I just do not reach for it...
I found my Shiseido lipstick on Amazon. That's not where I would normally buy lip products, but I did my research first and just couldn't find it locally.
I love a bold punchy shade like your catrice lipstick or my LE New Wave, but I forget that I have them, and they lanquish in a drawer or the back of a shelf. : ( I really like the Shiseido formula, and now I'm interested in trying the Kiko stylo. Thanks for pointing that similarity out.
I had bought like 4 of the Clinique pop lipsticks in the old formula and although I liked the formula, the packaging was terrible. All my lipsticks pulled away from the inner tube and became wobbly and the lipsticks broke or were difficult to apply because they were so loose. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue?
I never had any problems with the old formula. It sounds like the lipsticks you purchased were old, and dehydrated. That will happen as a lipstick ages.
Thanks for answering, I appreciate it. The lipstick were bought as soon as they launched at that time. Maybe they were a bad batch. It's never happened with any other brand. I loved plum pop.
I sort my lippies by color family, warm nudes, cool nudes, browns, pinks, corals, mauve, purples, reds…. I have too many, and I still forget that I have some of them.
