Steevee, just had a listen, April Skies, Happy when it rains. Smashing. Another revelation. Thanks mate. (Get back safe from the cave?) 👍✌️❤️
@@joyceh2721 Good to see you really are having a look, are you using Spotify? The cave, yup, was a good walk, not a soul at that waterfall, its difficult to find, so many wander past not even realising it is there, my daughters jaw dropped here words were "It's like something from a movie". Where in the world are you Joyce, I saw your other comments and my guess, is Australia or South Africa🤔
@@ScottishTeeVee Steevee, glad your day out was a success. Your daughter is right. Reminded me of Rivendell, LOTR. Lot of beautiful places up there. Not using Spotify (give me a chance, just getting used to this internet thingie!!) Just you tube. I"ll give anything a listen to. Surprise myself sometimes! Lots of unchartered waters out there. Not so far away, Nooooo.!! Here in Greece(Loutraki), since 78. Originally Newcastle, NE england. Closer than you thought eh?? Aaaanyway, your channel got me interested again in lots of new (and forgotten) music. So glad I came across STV. In these difficult times it's good to have something to look forward to. All the best mate👍✌️❤️
Steevee, there's a vid of Brian Johnson and Mark Knopfler reminiscing at Whitley Bay. Lived close by.
Thank you for this, the Mary chain were on a roll Automatic captures that raw guitar, drum machine and synthesized bass. They liked NiN and brought them on tour in 1990 to open for them throughout the tour. Jim and William never cared what Warner thought, I read WB did not want drum machines on the record. Blues From A Gun, Here comes Alice, Head On, Between Planets, what a record. What a way to end the 80s
They actually didnt care at all about NiN even when NiN loved JAMC. As usual JAMC didnt care about anything
Great band. Many great songs, even on 'later' albums Stoned And Dethroned and Munki. Thanks for this video.
The best Scottish band ever 🏴😎✌️ #jamc
great band, every album they've made have been great cant say that about a lot of bands.
Loved them since 'Darklands'. And even their last effort Damage & Joy was excellent. Glad they reunited some years ago...
Love these guys so much. Everything they’ve done is great and they’re always themselves. It’s really nice to see them as happy as they are now, especially Jim. He’s like a totally different person now compared to the 80s/90s but I also know he was having substance abuse issues so that could very well be a big part of his mood back then
Love this so much. JAMC RULES!
Brilliant band, I have the “Some Candy Talking” double single which has their acoustic John Peel session. I must give it a listen today.
Thank you for this.
Yeah they were good back in the day, I don't have that double single, don't even recall seeing it for sale. Anyway, enjoy and have a great day Edward

Hope you have a great weekend yourself
This YT channel has so many great uploads.
Awesome!! The kings of jangly tight tunes!
Great band!!!
Thank you so much for another rarity! 🌷🌺🌷💜😌
Our pleasure!
Thx for sharing! Great this is.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting STV, great weekend. Cheers for J&MC.
Love you channel, thank you so much for all the great uploads.
You are most welcome. Thank you for commenting
I saw the guys at Tenax, Florence, when they released their record debut around '85.. their set was just 45 minutes plus a brief bis: I remember at the time thinking that they were showing us the future of rock'n'roll..
It was a good time to see them live and you're lucky to get a 45 minute set as I saw them in Glasgow in 85, they played for 20 minutes and the place erupted with many drinks being thrown at the stage, including my own beer. Thanks for watching Nic
@@ScottishTeeVee ahahahah! I really can imagine.. 20 minutes is too short also if you play for free (as I've seen with Psychedelic Furs during a Pitti party, and also in that case some beers flew to the stage..)
thank you for posting all this amazing material..
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Love
Fun bunch of lads
Yup a laugh a minute.
i used to have that Resurrection Joe t-shirt back in the day ...
I think this is the first interview in which the brothers are not completely drunk. THANKZ! SCOTTISH.
Steevee, another first for me. Definitely needs investigating! (If I was their mum I'd be real proud. Real down to earth, unassuming, focused. Seem like nice lads.)
You are up early Joyce, then again so am I. The JAMC were a good band in their day, it's 36 years since I saw them, where did the time go. Thanks for watching
@@ScottishTeeVee took dog out 5.30. watched magpies making nest for a while. Will have a look later at JAMC vids. You've got me on a real nostalgia trip. Where did all the years go? Too true. They were good ones back then though eh? Have a good one Steevee. (No Ikea today? ) 👍✌️❤️
@@joyceh2721 No Ikea today, thank goodness. Its a beautiful sunny day, so I'm off for a walk with my daughter later, to this waterfall which you can walk right into via a cave at the back ua-cam.com/video/cdJR1tD-9no/v-deo.html. Have a great day Joyce.
@@ScottishTeeVee Wow!!!! Tolkeinlike, my precious. Hot here, just for a change! 3 days forest fire other side of mountain. Ecological disaster. Villages, monasteries evacuated, homes burned, birds, wildlife, household pets list. Scary. Have a lovely day with your girl. Take care. Watch out for orcs. 👍✌️❤️
Automatic’s initial reception:
The album was panned by critics. The instrumentation being just synth bass and drum machine was widely criticized.
Modern reception:
Retrospective reviews of Automatic have been far more positive, with some even considering it JMC’s career peak. :)
I think Automatic stands up pretty well against any of their albums. Psychocandy is a little overrated. Because when you actually just listen to the records without reading what the critics said about them, some of their best songs are actually off Darklands and Automatic.
The drum machine is kinda cheesy but fucking awesome.
At tender age of 16, "Automatic" meant everything... looking back on it now, it sure is the cheesiest of the first big four-five albums of theirs but still remains the most fun listening to.
I always loved Automatic and Darklands. The critics were wrong about the JAMC many, many times.
Cheesy ? Is it fuck its brilliant.
Put on closed captions. It's pretty funny.
My favourite Mary Chain album.
I found an old bootleg of Barrowlands - 1987 (I was at the show , BG had just left, they used a drum machine),,haven't had cassette player in many many years to see if its playing. It's yours if you want it ? 👍
Thanks for the offer, but I too don't have a cassette player, sold it recently as I'm clearing out lots of things before selling my house. The Barra's was good for gigs, saw many there, probably with you nearby. Nice to see you are still here, watching and commenting
@@ScottishTeeVee In a moment of madness while moving house 10 years ago approximately,,,I launched out my collection bootleg cassettes(my buddy said you’re gonna regret that ,he was right),,,I found another one tho - Echo & the bunnymen 87 or 88 ,final tour before they split...Still have all my vinyl & cds,,they don’t leave my yard ,no way.
All the best buddy.
It's almost as if William wants to say
"I Hate Rock 'n Roll"
😲😯
Their bodies are very toit!
I have a Dutch accent, isn't that vierd?
do u have HD fugazi stuff?
Yeah, I do. Well not really shot in HD, but I can capture from the tapes in HD and upload in HD. I have three full concerts, one from 88, 90 and 96, they are not on UA-cam. I gave copies to Ian a few years ago, as he had them listed as "No recording exists" or something like that on his website. I got a polite thanks from him.
What's with the gloves?
was this on british mtv or did scotland have their own seperate mtv seperate from england mtv?
This was recorded in London and broadcast on MTV Europe, MTV UK did not start until 1997
you know?
?
@@ScottishTeeVee Jim ends every sentence with "you know"
@@labelledejour802 Ah, right, I understand now, you know 😉😆
heh - the sound of snotty Scotland
I just wish you'd warned us because then could have had the chance to think of something else to talk about
Bon Jovi? That's not a rock n roll group. That's a bunch of accountants wearing tight trousers
What a bellend
The Presenter or one of the brothers?
@@ScottishTeeVee the presenter of course....the Reids are gods or at least minor deities
@@ShakespearesBruv Gods. Fully fledged.
I'm not going to ask you about music, I'll just keep asking why are you surprised I'm not asking you about music? So lame. Nice try at being clever. 🙄
Complaining musicians, how original
They sound tired.
Why you watching then? Go complain somewhere else. The Mary chain is brilliant
