Shoot I must have been around 19 years old. This was my favorite JAMC album for years, and came out during pretty much the best time period of my life. Sometimes I like or feel like listening to one album or another more than the rest, so at that specific moment In time it's hard to say which is my favorite album exactly. It depends on my mood, and what I feel like listening to the most. But I can honestly say Honeys Dead is still at the top of my list, and if I had to grab only one CD to save or take with me I'm pretty sure it would be that one. I have so many great times and memories associated with those songs. When I first heard it, Munki didn't really grab my interest right away, but the more I listened to it, the more I got it, until it became one of my definite favorites. To the point that at certain times I would call it my favorite, like I said, my tastes change depending on my mood.
There is a whole story behind this but I was in the audience when they filmed this. I still have my Honey’s Dead cassette that I got signed by both of the Reid’s that day. Jim signed one side of the liner notes and William signed the other…. My girlfriend at the time got her chest signed.
To counter their notorious shyness and aversion to american style interviews, they obviously reached deep for some Dutch courage as this is the most "animated" I have ever seen of either especially William. Thank you for finding and posting this clip!
Rollercoaster USA Tour was one of my all time favorite shows EVER!!! JAMC, Spiritualized (Laser Guided Melodies era), and Curve blew my mind in Atlanta Georgia as a college kid!!!
I know they definitely despised RHCP because Anthony Kiedis complained about them in his book. I bet they also despised Pearl Jam and probably also Soundgarden. They liked Lush and Ministry . Ice cube is a tough one though, I get the feeling they got along with him
@@tomcarl8021 I was just making an innocent comment, dude. I did not mean to offend anyone. We all ( Americans, Brits, Spaniards, French.....) have flaws and virtues. That's all. But I truly apologize if you felt offended.
@@DavidBurton1978 I'm not offended. Just answer the question. You wrote you don't care about my British cultural observation, but you care enough about an American custom to actually write it in a UA-cam comment section. Do you only care about American customs and traditions?
This was Request Video which was filmed in a studio about a block away from Disneyland in Anaheim. I was always amazed of the bands they could get to come down from LA to do this show on channel 56. I am sure Jim and William were not happy to have to make the commute to do this show when they were in LA promoting the upcoming release of Honeys Dead.
This was Request Video on KDOC TV Channel 56. During that time period it was my only source for music videos because we didn't have cable TV. They did surprisingly have quite a few good bands on the show. I think most of us who were into alternative music at that time, and listened to KROQ 106.7 FM, watched the show and it was like our hidden gem. Good alternative music videos and bands that weren't available anywhere else, I mean as far as I know there wasn't anything like it even on cable. Later on they had M2 (MTV2), which was mostly alternative music or stuff that was new or they wouldn't play on MTV. And they had already started playing less and less music on MTV then, and most of it was shit anyway. M2 had a program director from KROQ FM in Los Angeles, so they actually had good stuff. I discovered and was exposed to lots of new music and bands on M2, but I had DirecTV satellite at that time, so I want to say it was late 90s. 96 and on I think. MTV was shit already with the stupid reality shows, and what music they did play sucked
Such a fun time to be 15 yrs old!
All this music made high school bearable 😎
The year I graduated high school.

Another pure gold hilarious JAMC interview and Honey's Dead is an incredible album :-)
My favorite JAMC interview. Please never delete this

Any pics ?😅
Hey do you happen to still have the honeys dead cassette with the autographs? I’d love to see!

the feedback @2:48 sounds like their first record
This is amazing. I feel a little bad for the interviewer but this pretty much sums up the JAMC's attitude towards everything.
Lolz, true
This interview is fucking awkward but gold
This is like the most relaxed I have ever seen Jim and William in an interview situation.
@@latontologyea I’ve never seen Jim laugh like that lol but this is their best by far
My new favourite video on the internet.
LOL, this is kinda funny and how pissed off Jim and William are. "Lou Reed is our daddy"
The first caller is playing some telephone feedback.
It was a better world back then. You even had guys like the JAMC on commercial television
"Are you normal?" - I feel her pain - but this was gold
oh damn what a gem!
This is gold !!
Love this interview! Sums up what I've always liked about JAMC - effortlessly cool, aloof & laidback... 🍯
I can't believe I've never seen this before.
Hash tag me too
The Reid Brothers - like 1920's Hollywood gangsters
I know they definitely despised RHCP because Anthony Kiedis complained about them in his book. I bet they also despised Pearl Jam and probably also Soundgarden. They liked Lush and Ministry . Ice cube is a tough one though, I get the feeling they got along with him
*listens to frequency*
Thanks for this!
this is magic
“you’ve lost your marbles, bro.”
1. The audience is annoying as hell 2. Jim is hilarious as hell and kinda looks like kermit the frog here lol
Jajajaja he did
The phone call has feedback, how appropriate for JAMC! Also that hostess is dreamy.
Jim Reid loves the screams and he's trying to play it cool
Lmao probably
I dunno about that lol I think his reaction is pretty genuine
They should have let the Reid brothers respond to that first call, lol. They probably prefer calls like that :) .
Number one on my "why the nineties were great" list
fuckin brilliant - where r the bands like this now?
Love
I don't think the interviewer knew Pussy Galore unfortunately Jim.
9:10-9:18 jim's facial expression XD
I can hear Americans add too much ice to drinks.
And Brits warm their beer, chill their baths, and boil all their food.
@@tomcarl8021 You may be right. But I don't really care. I am Spanish, I am not British.
@@DavidBurton1978 You're not American either, why do care how much ice Americans add to their drinks?

That’s no booby ??
Who's BOBBY G ?
Bobby Gillespie, their former drummer
are jims front teeth missing?
Do you have input into your videos We make them hahaha
who is she? what's her name?
Gia DeSantis. The show is Request Video
I feel the feedback on the first call was on purpose lol because of their first album. even Will kinda smirked
What show is this
I think it was on Canada TV , maybe Ontario in the North America tour with Nine inch Nails
