He’s so right, bands like the JAMC and the Smiths that make music for people who actually like music are immortalised by their cult like fans. People are still discovering and loving these bands and I can’t say the same for disposable pop from the 80s
An amazingly honest interview. Apart from their homeland their interviews were not shown. I first saw them interviewed in 1989. Australian MTV played part of an interview promoting their new single. . . BLUES front a Gun.
So if this interview was 1987 and Jim Reid said that Psychocandy would be available in record shops in 20 years time then he was right. It is still available to buy in record shops now in 2023, and that is 36 years later. Because the LP has become considered to be an all time classic album (which it is) then I suppose it will always be getting re-issued which means it will always be available in the shops.. and he predicted it (even before it became an iconic record, years after this interview took place.)
Wow this was right before Darklands little do they know how they are about to take off after this April skies, happy when it rains before their top of the pops performance
I hadn't heard Nick Kamen's name for thirty years. And then he dies and then I listen to this interview and he gets several mentions. All within a few days.

Prophetic
10 years ahead of their time..
Possibly more.
I put one of their songs on a mix cd I made when I first started dating a girl. When she said she loved it I knew she was the one
I love them
