First video I've seen so forgive me if you cured your mold issues
My approach would be to print the sole itself, not a negative. Finish it up really nice with filler and paint, give it any texture you want to see on the final part, but make it nice, every detail will show.
Using the same wooden box approach, use the 3d print to create a silicone mold that's a negative like your original 3d prints here.
Let it cure up then remove your 3d print from it.
When you want to make a sole put your silicone mold into your mold box and fill like you did here.
When it's cured, the silicone will peel off pretty easy (still need s release though) and can be reused a load if you're careful.
Draft angles aren't critical with this approach as the molds flexabity gets round a lot of those problems. A mould like yours here could almost turn inside out.
If there are problem areas you can slice the silicone mold so it can be peeled open, I recommend wavy cuts rather than straight ones. Leave the mold whole though.
This makes demoulding sooooooo much easier
Lastly, the same process can be used for your over molding step, the flexability here is immense.
Using differing colours and possibly shore ratings, and multiple over molding steps the sky's the limit.
Thanks for the video, I'm off to see if you've more on the shoes

that's so cool! I wanted to make a shoe, but i didn't know how to 3d print the sole, I was thinking about printing with TPU, I don't know why I didn't think about making a mold and pour rubber on it. The fact that you took the time to test it and show that it worked is priceless, because these kind of test took time to make and cost a lot of money, so thank you! and keep it up with the good content :D

Thank you so much! There are flexible filaments but the Rubber is more versatile a affordable. Also If you just want to buy the soles or re-sole and old shoe they sell them online. Glad this video helped and i appreciate your comment, be cool to see what shoes you make!

Clo, I think draft angles can help with the mold release. You could possibly print the male version of that portion then cast is another silicone, that way you have multiple flexibility options. When I do molds the layer lines help grab the silicone, so I either print with a finer layer height or hit with some filler/primer spray to help seal those areas a little better.
I've watched her video also and it was great! I think yall could be very successful (I pray for yalls success regardless), if yall get the general outline of the shoe portion also as a DXF for laser cutting. With a desktop printer (ender3) and desktop lasers (xtool d1), one individual alone can get kids making their own pair of shoes. If its a DXF for the laser, you can print it out on paper to scale, kids can draw their own logos/designs, scan, and input into lightburn at a lower power setting, and easily cut out their shoe after its engraved the way they want it. I don't post on my UA-cam, but I'm a maker also and can help with any part of the process.
