  • In this video I paint an old , boring flap table. The colors I chose are Autentico chalk paint , Bright White and Nearly Black. I sealed the paint with Miss Mustard Seed 's Tough Coat , a kind of lacquer that gives a lovely, glossy surface .
In the video I show how easy you can make a centered Harlequin pattern (squares) without any stencil. The only thing you need is a long ruler (or another long, straight object - as in my case, a board haha) .
As a little luxury detail at this table I put old rusty castors on the legs. I was really happy with this project ! (WHAT DO YOU THINK?!)
Feel free to leave a small footprint with what you thought about the video! ;) Do not forget to follow my channel to not miss anything, new video every Sunday!

I paint and refinish furniture for a living. The harlequin paint job part is not good. It looks like it needs another coat on the black diamonds and the white areas need touch up. This does not look like pristine hand painted quality-sorry.

Aah, I know what you're saying, but actually i sanded the top before sealing the paint to rough it up a bit, I kind of like it :)
But, over all, the video is just supposed to show how to make the pattern without a stencil :)
