You're quick to call drivers stupid. I've met my fair share of them true. But I've met a lot of stupid mechanics. Especially since becoming a owner operator.

I didn't know about waiting a few minutes before turning off the engine to let the ECM run its diagnostics and to let the pistons and other internal parts cool down after running under full load, until recently. That's shit that isn't taught by trucking companies or even CDL schools. That was my own research.
And yet, I went to a TA to get a PM done, and a tech in training that had just graduated from UTI couldn't even start my truck up correctly. He kept turning the key without letting the fuel system prime and tried to start the truck. He did this about three times before I had to step in and show him how to do it properly. Either he didn't pay attention in UTI, or they didn't teach him shit. There's plenty of dumb to go around, lol.
      Good video, though.

@@Longhauler85why would they teach you that at trucking school? Their job is to teach you how to drive safely. They couldn’t give a less f@ck about how you turn your engine off or how you take care of your trucks engine. This guy is an idiot because he thinks knowledge that is common sense to him is common sense to everyone.

It's always the driver that screwed it up. Never a parts swapper milking the clock. When the truck is in the shop, it's never assigned to someone who doesn't understand basic electronics, and rushes through just what the service writer made the work order for. It's never anyone's fault except the driver.
I know, because experiences owners, including myself, stopped going to the shop due to it costing three times more down the road than the initial shop bill, due to lazy mechanics.
Yeah. It's always the driver. The ones who know how to treat a truck don't take it to the shop unless there's a reason other than mechanical problems.
