Argentina is of particular interest to me right now. I'm curious what costs are like outside of Buenos Aires. If Milei can stop their 80-year overspending spree, I think the country holds huge potential.
I agree
The costs are amazing right now
Full steak dinners with wine are $12
I just read in the NYT that Argentina was in a state of total chaos because of the new president's austerity measures, prices going through the roof, people leaving the country in droves, etc. None of that unrest is evident in this video.
I can't remember the last time I read anything that was true in the NYT.
True
The YS dollar is worth a lot right now
But no chaos
Some protests
I’m working on a video with some marches
Love that blue dollar there! ;)
Chaos? Nope. But prices in ARG$ are going through the roof (Not in US$, that's why is "cheap" for foreigners). There's lots of people struggling to make ends meet on a daily basis, not only low but middle income families too. Tourists don't typically visit slums (and generally those are guided tours for security reasons) or low income areas. Lots of people leaving the country (mostly middle class) and also lots choosing to stay.
@@abcc917there are ...people , plural
I was there for 10 months last year, it was even more affordable. No trip to Argentina is complete without going to Patagonia, pricy but its unbelievably beautiful and the people are Awesome.
Try out Cordoba, as well -the Sierras are cool and very affordable. Must try craft beer! I'll be heading back myself in October - enjoy!
I would love to go !
Thank you for this hold your hands at each step especially the showing what you pack etc ..
It helps the new travelers get ready
:-)
Have a great day !
Debes visitar Ushuaia, Bariloche o si te gusta el treking el Chalten.los tres en la Patagonia. No te arrepentirás.
I really want to see Patagonia someday
Great well made, well covered video. Prices definitely higher than Laos but not as high as Singapore which is even higher than my home state of New York. Much safer there than in New York now, crime and lawlessness is rampant.
Yes true
Please get out of any US city
This year especially
Hey Christopher,
Barb and I enjoyed meeting you today in Costa Rica. It was such a wonderful tour. We are enjoying watching your travel clips. Happy trails! Wendy
Wendy, thank you and yes that was a great tour! I will recommend that! A great day to both of you
Gracias! We are off to Manual Antonio National Park this morning. 😁😁😁
Great vlog. Sounds like BA is wonderful. Two questions. Do you speak Spanish? If not, how difficult is it to communicate? Two, what about Argentinian inflation? Do you use Western Union for currency exchange, and how difficult is it to convert money? I have read that you should use cash and not credit cards. Finally, have you watched any video by Samual and Audrey? I think that's their youtube channel name. They are a young Canadian couple restoring a hotel in Argentina, and they have lots of Argentina vlogs. Keep making those great vlogs.
Good question!
I can ask for food and speak basic words , greetings
Very little
It’s been no problem
Google translate has helped with the rare need
You might take the Buquebus high speed ferry from BA to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. It's about 1.5 hrs away. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also, a river cruise on the Tigre River. We enjoyed both. We were in Buenos Aires and Uruguay 15+ years ago. Montevideo was ok, too. We never got to the wire region of Mendoza. But, it's suppose to be lovely. Enjoy the empanadas!
That bus trip sounds like a good idea !
The last shot on the screen, with the skyscrapers and the mountain backdrop and the river(?), do you remember the area that this was in, in Buenes Aires? It looked nice. Thanks!
That last shot is Waikiki
That’s my home
I live a stone throw from that spot
I miss it and visit often :-)
Nice & thanks for sharing.
You are most welcome
Have a good day
Dear friend , Argentina is unique and incomparable with the others capitals of the region
True, quite beautiful to walk the city
I like your travel set up. Looks to be very functional. Maybe you could add some information on your camera and editing? Keep up the good work. Im interested to see the other parts of 🇦🇷 particularly out of the cities if you get there. Thanks again. 😊
Good idea I will work on this
Glad you are enjoying your time. Argentina seems to fit you better than Chile did. Have you ever tried the Audio Pet bluetooth speaker? They are very small, but put out great sound. Also, you can get a Mad Dog version. Keep up the good content!
I agree about Argentina :-)
Interesting on the speaker!
Great video. Greetings to Lionel Messi for me❤
Absolutely!
I see paintings all over
Hello, how are you, I tell you, the river that is on the coast is called the Rio de la Plata, and it is the widest river in the world, here in Buenos Aires, crossing the river, this Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay) is 60 kilometers wide, but Its maximum width is between Punta Rasa (province of Buenos Aires) and Punta del Este (Uruguay) with 219 kilometers wide.
It was wide yes! I thought it was the ocean, the taxi driver said no it’s the river !
Glade you're destination, I've a feeling that Argentina is a better choice than Chile, am I wrong?
Argentina is the right place to go this year
The dollar goes so far
Love your packing !!! great videos .
Thank you :-)
I’m always trying to get lighter
❤Please show us your Tango moves
I would love to learn it !
@@RetireandGo Welk you are at the right location ;)
If it is still in Buenos Aires I can take it all over Buenos Aires it is very big
So much to see
And a wonderful city to walk in
👍👍👍
Aloha ! Have a good day
Why not attempt a Tango class while you are still in BA😊
True
I would love to learn
As commented before, Argentina has on of the highest inflation rates in the world. It was caused by the governments of the past 22 years. The new government is on the right track, but it will take some time. You cannot undo 22 years of disastrous economics in a short time. The city looks great. Many of the residents in the areas that you show are upper middle class and higher. Go outside to the province of BA and you will see the disasters that the press talks about. The press generalizes and whomever writes the article does not know what they are talking about. If you want to accurately describe your surroundings, you should mention the name of the neighborhood. Belgrado, Recoleta, Palermo, La Boca, etc. Are some of the most popular. You need to identify the neighborhood to be accurate. I know the food is great, but you have limited yourself to meat. Did you know that the pizzas and Italian food are great in Argentina?
Right now is the time to go
I’m serious
Meals for $12
Steak wine everything
Good city and nice lady's ha ha.....
Oh true true !
Hey Bro, when you travel how long on a average do you stay in a country before moving on,
30 days or less
That’s for variety
There are longer stays available
why move so fast, would it not be cheaper stay longer
@@frankcentofanti9317 true
Unfortunately Latin America was pricey compared to Asia
Can you do a video on visa management? For example, is it feasible to spend a month in Thailand, then bus to Phenom Phen and stay there a month, and then go to Vietnam for a month, and then back to Bangkok, and so forth endlessly? Or is there a better way to get around the visa restrictions? On these videos I keep hearing about people who stayed in Thailand or Cambodia for years and wonder how they did it.
Good idea
I’m using only arrival visas
Some are quite long !
Thank you for all suggestions
@@RetireandGo To me, this visa thing is the biggest obstacle for expat life. I've been to Thailand many times but having to do visa runs every month was a major pain. It never occurred to me that I could take a bus for $30 to Cambodia and live there for a month instead of going right back to BKK after my visa was renewed.
Well that certainly justifies the minimalist label. That must weigh next to nothing.
True
I will also shed several items after South America
