We were there about 2 years ago and just loved it there. Next time be sure to go see Iguazu falls up by the border of Brazil. Actually, you can cross over to Brazil and see them even better from that side. One of the 7 wonders of the world (I think). We also went to Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world and spent several days exploring thee including a boat tour and taking the Train to Nowhere. It's also where a lot of the boats going down to Antarctica let people off to take the plane out. One of the most pristine places I have ever been. We didn't get to go see the glacier though. Next time. I agree the people were so warm and friendly, it makes you want to come back. So much to do and see. You won't regret it.

2) I'm considering visiting Buenos Aires from Canada, primarily to start on the lion (carnivore) diet.
3) I am 72 & a retired ESL teacher, so pls accept this suggestion: you use 'dope' a lot. I think it means like 'nice'?
Try to use synonyms (check online). 'Dope' looses its punch if you constantly use the same word.

No times I felt unsafe. There’s pretty clear boundaries in terms of neighborhoods to visit and ones to stay away from. And surprisingly there’s a good amount of English speakers, especially in the more upscale areas of the city

1,100 for rent is the same as a room in NY 😭 any cheaper options you saw but chose not to go to?
So would it be better to get there and exchange the money and get a hotel instead of getting it online from the US?
I got a Wise card (no I do not represent them) which is a debit card where you can carry many different currencies at the same time on the same card. You only pay a transaction fee once and if you don't use up all your Pesos, you can just switch them back to dollars or whatever currency you want. The card is also good in the US. We wasted so much time trying to get cash on many of our trips. Having this preloaded debit card saved us so much time adn money.

Where we stayed it was even cheaper - entire apartments via AirBnb.
I thought things there were cheap ? -- That's outrageous rent prices ! -- Perhaps a longer stay would be much less ?
Hey Frank. Yea longer stay would be much cheaper. And I'm also renting with airbnb using my bank cards. If you were on site paying in cash you could essentially cut all the prices I showed in half at that time.

I typically use airbnb. When you're booking for a month or longer they'll usually reduce the price much lower for you.

Argentina too expensive one thing for sure Cartagena Colombia y way beyond cheaper
Argentina is definitely more expensive than Cartagena but I will say, it's still a really cheap city (Buenos Aires) especially for Americans. They're having a currency issue that practically doubles your money if you use cash the entire time there.
