When I fill the coolant yo the part line it always ends of leaking somewhere, like sn overflow but, only ehen the engine is hot after a long ride. However, it doesn't leak if I fill the resovoir maybe an inch before the part line. What could be the problem ?
Check oil l. Uf there is no visible leak but you have to keep adding coolant it could be leaking in the engine block. If you ch3ck engine cap and see milk color then there is definate coolant leaking into engine
What do you mean it's overflowing when the cap is off? When do you remove the cap? I hope you wait until the car is cold, meaning waiting a few hours at least after turning it off. Please don't touch that cap when the car is hot or warm because the coolant can then spray out and cause serious burns.
I do not think they ran my engine after filling it. Just had work done for a cracked temp sensor housing and my reservoir was almost empty. I checked because upon idle my heat wasn't working. I just topped it off. I'm hoping the Firestone guys were just lazy and there are no additional leaks.
Walmart sells a obd reader for 19.99 or a nicer one for about 40 or 50. You can hook it up to the obd reader plug on your driver's side and download an app which then reads the CEL (check engine light) code that is causing the light to go on. It will tell you what is going on. Then you can look up info online and either try to DIY the fix or at least not let a mechanic deceive you because you already know what is wrong with the car.
Thank you so much! I was wondering how full to fill the coolant tank in my Sonic...so glad I found your video 😊😊

Anyways I have a question,
I have the same car, but why does my coolant overflowing in the reservoir if cap is off?

Hi. I’m just a girl. Where is the fill line ?
It’s the ridge that divides the top half and bottom half of the reservoir. Good luck!!
