I’ve just completed my 4 year degree and reflecting back: this video provides much more realistic advice on productivity than the garbage I was filling my head with. A lot of the content I was consuming on productivity was extreme, making me feel guilty with the high stakes of a do or die mentality - very non empathetic to the human condition and experience. If anything, it added to the internalised frustration of why I couldn’t be more productive and lapse. This video feels different where it does acknowledge that “willpower” is not something that is sustainable if I haven’t nurtured the prime environment (sleep, energy levels, distractions).
Regretful that I wasn’t able to get the most out of my degree without validating my experiences in this way, but excited to apply similar principles in my life moving forward. Thanks Clark for reminding me life is quite doable!

I appreciate your clarity as well. I look back on my college experiences similarly - if I had understood how food and sleep and exercise could have helped, I'd like to think I'd be significantly healthier now.
But, my life would be different, and that's something I'd rather not trade. It's pretty good as-is.

Give yourself time and space to be golden
Seems like the principal comes back to the Dr. K “do less with more intention in order to do more overtime”
If you’re eating, watching a show, going on a walk, working on something, eliminate as many distractions and put your time and focus into those individual things and really try and get as much out of even the most trivial things. You’ll be squeezing as much out of life as you should rather than the task switching malaise we may all be doin’.

One thing model question is what I always ask my coaching clients in business so that they could be laser focused and not get distracted in millions of ideas while there would be alignment for their vision and action today this week this year. So simple and effective model. Love the video Clark ❤

Hi Clark - I just happened upon your video this morning, and when you were talking about to do lists I remembered that chip and I received many years ago that I still use today it’s called the Eisenhower matrix. It’s four steps. There are four categories: Urgent and important (these are the things that you do), important but not urgent (schedule these for later or another day), urgent, but not important (you can delegate these to someone else), and finally not urgent and not important and you just get rid of these ones. It has helped me be more productive for years and I just wanted to share it with you. I do love the book The One Thing - in fact, I’m going to read it again. Cheers and I have subscribed - I’m looking forward to catching up on your other videos.

This video made me rethink a lot about productivity myths! The idea that focusing on one important task can be way more effective than trying to get a million things done is pretty eye-opening. Also, I never considered how much willpower is tied to energy levels rather than time-definitely going to find my “golden hours” now. And the whole multitasking thing? I’ve been there, thinking I was doing lots when in reality it was slowing me down. Most surprising was the “66 days for a habit” bit-no wonder things take a while to stick! Thanks for the insights, definitely time to manage energy and set better habits. Excited to try these changes!

There’s a lot of truth to the law of resistance, which says that the more you struggle toward something the more it actually pushes away from you. I relate very heavily to what you’re talking about in your early 20s I came up in social media at the same time. It was all grind set. I’m doing much better in my business now that I’m actually more relaxed, I let go. If a deal doesn’t happen, I just think all good. Its probably for the best. I actually do less and make more now. Which is a full 180 from how it used to be

I truly love all the advices in this video. I myself had similar mindset of keeping busy to be productive to a fault in the past. Not until I had a health scare that I put more attention to changing my way of life and thinking. Now I do most of the advices you listed here. However, I often wonder if I didn’t hustle and work as much as I did before, will I have the same accomplishments I do now. Now I have the allowance to work in my own pace and be able to prioritize and do things one thing at a time, but it’s because i put in so much work and effort for several years to get here. So here i am years later wondering if i would have had the same accomplishments now if i did not give the same time and energy i did in the past? Just thinking out loud. My kids are growing fast and i want to be able to give them food for thought that can help them succeed. Thank you again.

Going along with the plan your week one. I heard one that was. Don't base your production success on the day to day. Life happens, and things come up. You will have to switch gears sometimes.
Essentially, when applicable, base your progress from where you are now compared to where you were in a weeks time.

Focus on High-Leverage Activities: Identify tasks that yield the most significant results and concentrate efforts on them.
Implement Time Blocking: Allocate specific time slots for different activities to maintain structure and prevent distractions. Find your golden time and your siesta time.
Flow State: Focus attention and energy on one task. Task switching zaps energy and disrupts progress. If a task takes less than two minutes, do it right then.
Utilize the '80/20 Principle' (Pareto Principle): Recognize that 80% of results often come from 20% of efforts, and focus on the most impactful tasks.
Practice Consistent Reflection and Adjustment: Regularly assess progress and make necessary adjustments to stay aligned with goals.
