I can certainly get behind this little gem. Lots of room and with a few improvements it would be amazing. Would bring the lounge up to the first bedroom. Then a bathroom in that little room on the top floor. The town looks lovely, lots of heritage and charm.
@A Home in Italy the walks in the historical towns and all the beautiful churches and artwork, architecture and the lovely paving in the streets and towns centres and the views would be absolutely fantastic ❤ love your home tours because you show us the village around the house which is where the cultural heritage can be seen. We would love to see you do more walking tours of small and larger historical centre village life, the facades, the gardens and the walking trails and Parks around plus other nature based views such as scenic lookouts, waterfalls, caves, underground tunnels, castles, bit of history for context but even with just a village walk that is at walking pace it would be well viewed and worthwhile for many. Thanks for all you do and keep those bells ringing 😅 it's really nice
Great price nice flat. Lots of light. Fara is cold in winter though. Nice for it to be right in town. LOVE THE BELLS. STUNNING for sure. Love this. Thanx David. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Italy/Portugal
This is a beautiful place. I agree to update the kitchen but if I had to keep it that way I would because its still very functional. I would add a second bathroom upstairs. But everything looks great and liveable. If I could move in tomorrow I would. I love the views and the old world look and feel of the location. When I think of Italy this is what I picture in my mind.❤😊 Thank you so much for your channel and sharing such wonderful locations.
Another bargain property! Personally, I would need to invest a little and make some change, but it is usable as is without a doubt! Beautiful town. Great job, Dave!
Perfect! Just perfect! Great location, fantastic price, good condition. I definitely agree with you. First floor bedroom would become the lounge. Second floor would become the main bedroom with a 2nd bathroom. Definitely would reveal a bit of stone and replace kitchen. Whoever snatches up this property will be lucky!
In the kitchen storage room, you could fit a toilet on the right side of the stairs where the cabinet and table are, facing the room, and a small sink where the ladder is. Plumbing nearby in the kitchen. Get rid of the shelf on the left for more space to walk. Still room for storage at the back, with a half bath on the main floor. Then it can be 3 bedrooms.
Amazing views and, yes, wonderful to hear the church bells. Such a lovely old town. Would the municipality allow you to create a roof terrace on this property? The attic brick wall seems to suggest that a roof terrace would work structurally.
Might be difficult with those very narrow stairs up. The neighbour house has a guardrail around roof ( seen near beginning from the piazza level looking up) so presumably they have a terrace. Definitely would make a great addition, especially with the views towards mountain and above all the neighboring houses.
Hi Dave, I Agree I would make the first bedroom upstairs into a living room, for the kitchen I would move the fridge to the area by the stairs and install a new kitchen and wrap around to the fridge wall. I would modernize it for function but using materials that would give it a more old-world look to it You can't beat the views Bellissima, I think this one will sell fast. Amore da N.Y.
Beautiful town…and great value home. I tell my wife about these homes (the ones under €70K) and she always says buy it. That puts a lot of pressure on me to make sure it’s the right place for us in Italy as a vacation home/home to retire to from the US..but we are also looking at homes in Spain as well because my wife has family there (Barcelona area)-a couple of brothers, lots of nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews-in particular a niece she grew up with in Ecuador (who is just a couple of years younger than my wife is), which is more like a sister to her. I’d have to pass on this home, however, as me and my wife both are allergic to cats. Otherwise, it’d make a fantastic home-with the addition of AC in the bedrooms and kitchen/dining area-yep, spoiled American who can’t live with indoor temps above 23/24c in the summer (ideal indoor temp all year long for me is 21-23c…with some nice air circulation so it doesn’t feel stuffy inside).
We visited FSM in Oct 2024 and hiked up the gorge. Great town and scenery, but the bugs near the gorge entrance ate me alive. Is there an insect problem in the town itself? Don't miss the factory outlet store at the De Cecco factory - they have well over 100 kinds of pasta!
Nice! I would replace the kitchen and put in a big island with seating and a comfy seating area in the corner for guests. The lounge would be upstairs to take advantage of the great atmosphere outside (definitely ditch that comforter that clashes terribly with the floor...haha). Move the washer and dryer out of the bathroom and expand the shower a bit.. Create a bathroom top floor with larger shower and put washer and dryer in that bathroom. Place a closet unit on the bedroom wall to the left as you walk in to the bedroom to keep the room open and spacious.Replace the tile floor in the kitchen and the top floor with more interesting pattern. Love all the windows and balconies! Great location!
And done to my exact specifications, and.large rooms and lots of storage but with lots of charm and character but still modern and clean and close to the ocean and city center even though they’re 45 minutes away from each other but on a quiet street but not too isolated, like I want to be close to the action but not feel like I’m close yet I don’t want to feel like I’m far away, you know what I mean? And I want to pay like a dollar and if you can make every Italian speak fluent English, that would be great! I’m too lazy to learn Italian! Oh and I almost forgot, I need the bathrooms to be covered in windows with loads of light and breathtaking views but I somehow don’t want anyone to see me nekkid! Like can I see from the inside but prevent anyone seeing from the outside? Thanks!
@@bixchick007I don’t care damn it! I want what I want! I want the exact same house you can get in suburban Michigan in the middle of a small town in rural Italy that is somehow almost exactly like Rome but without any tourists or crime or roads or people but I don’t want to feel isolated but I want lots of parking and a huge 29 car garage damn it! And all for a dollar!
The commenters here would renovate that beautiful place to look like an American home. Stay in America, please! P.S. I am an American but world traveled.
@@mariaeugenia7599It’s not being bitter. It’s being realistic. A lot of people not familiar with Italy have unrealistic expectations. For some reason, people are expecting large detached houses with a huge yard and a garage with private driveway done to their exact specifications in a location that’s somehow bustling and not isolated like a city but tranquil and quiet like a small town. You can’t expect all that in a town where all the buildings and houses are 300 years old!!!! lol
@@thehungrygoldfish I agree, too many people think that you can only live the dolce vita in Italy, but they’re wrong ! My parents were from Abruzzo, now passed away, i live in South Australia, and I’ve travelled to Italy 22 times, born in 1963. I still visit my cousins, and going back to Abruzzo this Christmas 2024. I live a comfortable life in Australia, well off and travel overseas yearly ! So much red tape, corruption, etc.etc. still exists there, to accomplish anything, drives you insane ! My cousins still experience all that to this day. Italy nice to visit, but nicer coming home here ! Good luck !
Thats so ridiculous. Contemporary design is especially popular in Italy. That said, I prefer the older styles as well. But don’t assume Americans are the only ones that want to renovate.

They’re at school or work or home. It’s a small town. It’s not going to be bustling at all times like a major city. You’re not in Rome. These small towns are not infested with tourists. It’s mostly locals. Remember, you’re in rural Italy lol
Love the property. Biggest detraction is no terrace, which is a shame given those views. I wonder whether permission could be obtained to create a rooftop terrace, and how much that would cost.
But that’s common in Italy. Most of the buildings and houses were built before cars even existed. You need to be realistic. You’re not getting a charming cottage with large rooms and lots of storage but with tons of charm and character with a good sized yard with a garage and driveway overlooking the ocean near the town center done to your exact specifications for a dollar in Italy lol

Um, it’s a small rural town, and you’re expecting public transport and a lot of jobs? It’s a small town!!!! lol If I were moving to a small town of less than a 1000 people, I wouldn’t expect the same feel and amenities of a city with over five million! That’s not possible! lol
Nope. Do your research. Tourists are what's missing. The 1300 residents are in school, at work, shopping, having lunch at home or up the hill on the main piazza. There are food and textile companies that have been here for generations; somebody is doing that work.
If you buy it you could be our neighbor!
