Matheus, you are a wise man. Firstly, buying something that has already been repaired. Secondly, for doing so when you are still young enough to enjoy making improvements and able to walk easily and get all the benefits of living in such beautiful surroundings. You will be a welcome, young, new spirit into the valley. I wish you well. Thank you for sharing.
@@matheusstonehouse @Whitby910 said exactly what I was thinking. As for solar panels, you'll need most when there is no or little sunshine. Be aware that when it's cloudy panels will generate about the same in any direction. So if you find a relatively snow free spot (or easy to clean) it'll work. Also, try to figure out what your electricity usage in fall, winter and spring will be. I expect that you'll be needing that generator quite a lot in the winter, even with solar panels and batteries. Nice idea for a long term project: can you generate power with the stream on your property?
yes! i came to say the same thing. i lived with a wood-fired range with wetback for 8 years - I miss it so much - and you have to keep it spotless from the start otherwise the work to clean it quickly mounts. Never having lived with one before, I learned the hard way.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that your house was in that beautiful condition. The previous owners did a great job and I’m excited to see what your future plans will be 👍❤️
Matheus, this is how generations past lived a sustainable life, without the unnecessary things that we surround our selves with today. I pondered rebuilding a cabin myself, but the truth is as I got older reality set in, and what I could realistically achieve changed, and what you now have would have been a more doable thing. There is, as you have said, a lot that you can do to make it more "yours" and that will be an interesting journey.....thanks for sharing. PS I noticed the generator in the cabin with all of the "stuff", if the previous owner left that behind that would be a good thing, particularly with Winter knocking on the door....
Life in the old days wasn`t necessarily sustainable, some parts were, some parts were not, like burning wood for heat, or the lack of sewage treatment. It works when the population density is low enough. Doesn`t take away the beauty of the place and I hope the new owner can transform it to an off-grid haven with modern technology combined with the best of old school life
Finally seeing how well the cabins have been done and maintained makes sense why you didn't hesitate to buy, even with the challenge of access. I think that what you are planning for is going to be really interesting and very motivating to see before I take the next step in my journey. Thank you for sharing it.👍❤️
This place is in great shape. Wow I like everything about it. It’s very rustic, but that’s what I like.😊🇺🇸 I like how they left it so immaculate, they even thought to cover the beds so that they don’t get dusty ,brilliant!
I was surprised to see people walking by. The environment looks so remote and severe. It's stunning as well. That trail leading to the cottage is magical. Love your videos, they are so peaceful, I don't mind the yellow titles - they are easily read. Love to watch the scenery and taking a walk with you. Thank you.
Wow!! You have got a piece of heaven!! It’s gorgeous!! I can’t believe they build these buildings so many years ago. I So enjoying your videos. Well done!!! Hi from Australia 💚
It's amazing to see your house in such a great condition, so beautifully kept so cozy the prior owners took great care of the house and cabin...cant wait to see future renovations to your lovely home
Can't wait until the next video..!!! I'm so impressed with the work that the previous owners had accomplished - and that white stove appeared to be spotlessly clean - as did the rest of the cabin. Says a lot about their character and values. The main cabin, both interior and exterior, is so charming. All the best from the Pacific Northwest, U.S.A.
Thats a perfect stove for this type of house. We in the balkans have the same style of those and they are so universal but most of them are used in homesteads far away from civilisation as you can cook and bake in them. Also heats up the house so good. Never change it. But When I think maybe get a similar one that does central heating system and is conected to radiators around the house as Stone houses can get quite damp. Radiator in every room ensures a dry house.
Your house is absolutely beautiful and your videos are so well made. You actually feel like you're there with you enjoying the stunning scenery. Good luck in your new home and I can't wait for the next installment!
Congratulations on signing and getting the keys to your new home. I am really excited to see what you plan for it. I already love the view from your doorway looking at the steps.👍❤️
Nice houses. I can feel the time has passed on them. Beautifully restored. I guess that the tarps used in front of doors is to avoid flooding. You could install awnings on top of these doors. Cheers.
Possibly also to keep fallen snow from seeping in under and around the doors. The tarps and the extra wooden barriers are doing a good job, thought I guess once you were there and knew the weather you would know when to take them of for a time.
Congratulations on your new home. It's in very good shape from what I could see. Enjoy making it cozy and functional to suit your needs. Also enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I'm looking forward to seeing your personality in it.
Lovely place to retire on. I am happy for you for acquiring that paradise of a place. Excited to see improvements you'll be making ahead. Stay safe and God bless. 👏👍💪🙏❤
Nice videography. I watched all three videos. Well edited with pleasant music and fantastic imagery and no talking. Your house(s) are fascinating and in great condition. You were wise in buying a house with so much work already done. You saved money, time and backbreaking work in a tough place to get building supplies into. Very wise. What is the small building just across the path from your house? It is good you are young and can still improve it to make it your own. Looking forward to future videos. Dan from Oregon
There is truly something magical about opening a house for the first time. Maybe you will even meet Susuwatari! Hi Matheus! Wow the inside of your cabin is so beautiful, the previous owners have done a fantastic job. I like your idea of turning the other cabin/kitchen into a food storage area, where you are located it should be an ideal place to keep food at a proper temperature for storage. Will you be building small terraces to grow food in the future? Really looking forward to your next video. Take care, Naomi x
I got excited in the previous video when I saw how well renovated the exterior of the house was. Today I got even more excited, it is really beautiful inside and ready to move in. 🌺❤️ That you will make glass in the doors is a great way to get more daylight inside. 👌 Luckily, some of the windows are bigger than the standard in many old cabins. (I know that the restrictions to change windows can be strict in Italy.) 🎉 Is there a river/waterfall in the big, dark canyon on the right side of the house? It looks interesting. 😀 Great to follow you! 💐
Great work by the previous owners. In keep with that it is now up to you to take it to the next level. In line with that I would urge you to first investigate the hydropower option for your electricity demand. Solar panels are expensive, not easy to install in your case, produce significantly less power during the days you need it most (dark days and winter), and detract from the overall authentic appearance of the structures. As long as the water runs you might get sufficient power from the hydropower unit. Making solar panels (largely) superfluous.
It's gorgeous, quiet, those stone walls must make it so quiet. I am serene as I watch you explore, serenely Jealous!! Good fortune in your upcoming efforts!!
