    The Bourbon Renewal was created by Jeffrey Morganthaler in Eugene Oregon around 2001. Morgenthaler was working at Clyde Common for 10+ years until it's closure in 2022 and has since opened his own venue, Pacific Standard, in Portland, Oregon. The drink was named after a band that his business partner was in at the time.

      The Educated Barfly has a video on how to make Creme de Mûre. I'm sure you can copy most of the steps to make a Creme de Cassis.

      They're both Jeffrey Morgenthaler's specs.. just very slightly different.... yeah, the art deco style glass is pretty nice! The cassis can make the drink quite tart which is why I used a scant measure... it worked well. Cheers!

      @@StevetheBartender_ Hey Steve! My husband, daughter and I just did intense research and a side by side comparison between yours, JM’s (which is the same as Leandro’s) and Anders’ Bourbon Renewal. Anders’ is the same as JM’s, only difference was in the simple. He used ¼ oz of semi-rich.
      I used Bulleit, and Drillaud Crème de Cassis (I need to up my game with the cassis - not super happy with that brand). Yours is definitely sweeter and tasted smoother. My under-age daughter liked it best. Anders’ was good but seemed a bit flat. My favorite was Jeffery Morgenthaler’s original.
      Please give me more assignments. 😂

    Hi Steve my nephew is coming to UK from Australia for a holiday next week. What cocktail can I make him to remind him of Aus. X

    • @StevetheBartender_
      @StevetheBartender_  Рік тому +1

      I can't say that there are any stereo typical "aussie" drinks.. I mean the Japanese Slipper was made in Australia (I think?) but that was popular in the 80s/90s... the Espresso Martini has been huge over the last 5-10 years... so I'm sure he's probably had plenty! It really depends on what he usually drinks I guess.

    • @StevetheBartender_

    i do a similar variation on the sour, but i go 2 oz rye, 1 oz lime, 1 short oz rich syrup, a barspoon luxardo maraschino and 1-2 dashes ango.
    if you like the cassis i can see it tasting great.
