Let's Here Was Yip Man Ever in a real fight or was he capable of defending himself from Attackers? Is there any information about this or will you make one about Yip Man's Fights or his ability in Wing Chun?
Wow, I love the part of the interview in which Bey talks about watching Bruce do that gesture and look into the camera... as his chair rolls back. As we all know, Bruce was a dynamic forcefield in and of himself as a living man, and as an energetic spirit, I often suspect he's even more 'potent' in some ways. Long Live Bruce Lee! I adore him and all (goodness) that surrounds his name, legacy and arts! Thank you Sifu Alex AND Bey Logan! ~This came on in my car today on podcast, and~ what a treat?! I logged back on via the PC to see what Bruce did for that magical, sacred moment on camera for you Bey... for us. :) Thank you all! MmGoi!!!!
Interesting to hear about the Cantonese language version of ETD. Can’t believe they’d double shoot all of the dialogue in the movie but can imagine they may have tried to make it multi-lingual, with Cantonese used in appropriate scenes with Bruce / the Monk / Betty / Han.
@TheKungFuGenius I am so sorry I missed this one live! Great memories with Bey in London during mid 80s! Wong Shun Leung, Nino...and COMBAT magazine! :) Amazing guy! Fun times with a lot of dreams in our backpacks!
Great, enjoyed it very much! Thx for having Bey again :). Some things for people who are interested: 1) Dragon Lee: The guy has two real names. If you put these names together, his full name is Vyachaslev Kyungseok Moon-Yaksysnyi. It s a bit complicated :D. Russian given name: Vyachaslev Korean given name: Kyung-seok Russian family name: Yaksysnyi Korean family name: Moon It is similar as the full name of one of Ed Parker Senior's masters. The guy's full name was William Kwaisun Chow-Hoon, while William is his western given name, Kwai-sun his chinese given name, and Chow-Hoon a double-barrelled family name. Other example for such a name is the former boyfriend of the late Olivia Newton-John. His english name is Patrick McDermott, and he is missed since 2005. He is a full-blood korean and was adopted by an american family, his korean family name was Kim, his given name Chong-nam. So his full name was Patrick Chongnam Kim-McDermott. PS: He was married shortly with actress Yvette Nipar, and they have a son. Yvette was in "21 Jumpstreet" the girlfriend of Johnny Depp's character. For names like these it's understandable why the second syllable of a chinese/korean given name is not recommended to be capizalized, and why hyphens should be added, otherwise it looks like this: William Kwai Sun Chow Hoon Vyachaslev Kyung Seok Moon Yaksysnyi Patrick Chong Nam Kim McDermott Try to identify what name is what XD. 2) @Alex, i am not surprised you got this Bruceploitation movie from Germany. Back in the 90s it was horrible here. There was a company named "Schier Film". They were located in south Germany close to Munich (München). In the 90s they began to dubb these ploitation flicks and always named them as "Bruce Lee", not "Li", "Le", etc, and the tv guides also showed the name "Bruce Lee". I have to admit i was fooled by them for many years! I was also like you 8 when is saw the real Bruce for the first time, but a couple years later many of these fake movies were published in german tv, and since the tv guide and description in the intro and extro of the movie stated "Bruce Lee", i thought it was him. I wondered why he looked different, but i thought the tv guides and tv channels wouldnt lie. But they did. Finally after seeing "Bruce Lee - The Legend" when i was 14 years old, only a couple days away from my 15th birthday, i finally recognized who Bruce really was, and that this Bruceploitation genre did exist. 3) Bey pointed it you correctly about "real fighter". It has nothing to do with Lee at all, it's just something in general: Point karate still gets gloryfied even here on YT. There is a channel named "Martial Arts Madness" who tries to sell the Chuck-Norris-fights as "full contact". And his whole channel golrifies these point karate clowns. I would never claim i could have beaten them, but many people in the world could. I always had the feeling Wong Shun-leung would have wiped the floor with Norris in a street fight, and i dont even want to imagine what a guy like Lenny McLean would have done to them. Lenny would have send Chuck, but also Bob Wall and maybe even Joe Lewis in the hospital after a couple seconds, the guy was imo one of the best and most effective street fighters of the 20th century. 6'3"/191cm tall, weighing about 285lbs/130kg, with an enormous speed and power in his punches, and he used his whole body, including headbutts etc.. Lewis would have a chance to beat McLean, but i would still go with Lenny. 4) I dont know if Bey will read this, but if you do: Thank you very much for answering my questions in an english Bruce Lee forum about 3 years ago. I wrote you I am German, and you replied: "Schönen Tag". :) Cheers
@jpssteveshanahan9572Hi my friend, hope you are healthy and well :)! Yes she did. Even the media here in Germany reported about it. She wasnt really famous here, but i guess in the UK she was. I found out about her in 2021 through Yvette Nipar. Yvette has a son with Patrick McDermott, and Olivia was Patrick's girlfriend when he vanished in 2005 during a boat trip, he was alone in that boat on the cost of LA, and suddenly he and the boat were gone. The whole case is very strange, there exist a wiki article about it. But Olivia always said Patrick, who was like Bruce an asian, he was 100% korean but adopted by an american family, was the guy she loved the most. He was professionally a camera man, that's how he met the actresses Yvette and Oliva. I know Olivia had cancer for a longer time, she fought but sadly lost in the end :(. Yvette gave her a nice tribut on her Instagram page. Both ladies dated the same guy to different times, and they became friends.
At 56:10 Bey talks about seeing footage of Bruce Lee raising his arms. In the new Arrow set “ The Final Game of Death” that footage isn’t there or in any previous versions. I wonder why? Great channel Alex.
Great to see Bey doing so well and another brilliant podcast though can I ask if you’d do one of your book library omg it looks amazing as bibliophile it’s a dream to have a library like that
I think the clones are an important part of Bruce Lee's legacies. They were ridiculed and laughed at, but like Bruce Lee himself, they were resilient. When people talked about Bruce Lee, they will eventually led to the clones. I think the clones played an important part of Bruce Lee histories, right up there with Betty Ting Pei. 😢They kept us entertained for a decade after Lee's death because we wanted more. Even the titles were impressive. Enter the Game of Death. Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger.🎉. I hope one day, they will come out with the 60 discs remastered edition of al the clones movies to commemorate the special man Bruce Lee.
No matter how westerners attempt to berate bruce lee they can never accept the fact he is better than them since he revolutionized fighting. They are just mad cuz he did it first. So all these paid for UFC fanboys who never went to the underground arenas in asia only know so much.
This is so so entertaining because I have been going through the whole wu tang channel on roku and fascinated with the scene of all the 70's movies after Bruce and how they developed. I somehow like them like horror movies now. Even the bad ones I like. Obviously they are not the level of Bruce but in a different way entertaining. Some are really good stories but most have a terrible ending scene.
James w demile and Jesse glover and Ed Hart are very underrated in the era of Bruce Lee... because they had been in the most critical time of his life from 1959 - 1962

Bey Logan once again proving he is a wealth of knowledge and a cool dude to talk with and listen to! I always enjoy a Bey Logan interview!
Hi Alex hi Bey! Great interview & anecdotes guys loved it!
Bey’s got great stories!
I still say that Sammo Hung is the best Bruce Lee imitator.
Samo Hung didnt imitate bruce lee. Jackie Chan did it in the very beginning of his career..
🐖 🐉
Agreed! Sammo’s Bruce Lee schtick in ETFD and Skinny Tiger Fatty Dragon put every Lee imitator to shame.
@@TheKungFuGenius I also like his Lee lampoon in The Millionaire's Express, especially when he does Bruce's shoulder push against Rothrock.
