Tip 1: Forget the time, it takes as long as it takes, it’s less pressure and you take in and enjoy what you are doing. Tip 2 do it once for practice then write the recipe out, but with any changes / lessons learnt. You can also can tweak the recipe to your own taste / add your twist to it. When you cook the second time do it from your own written version of the recipe it will be 10 times better than the first attempt- guaranteed 👍👍😋
I never understood how it could be described as a 10 minute meal and it takes 30 minutes to do the prep. In my book that’s a 40 minute meal plus the time it takes to clear up again (which is about another hour or two)
Boiling water and opening a jar takes 30 minutes? And what would you clean for over an hour? Put away left over ingredients 1 min. Wash dishes 2 min. Wipe down counter while dishes drip dry 1 min. Towel dry dishes and put away 2 min. Even if you hoover and mop the floor that max another 5 min.
@@mkieran2619 Taz has like a pan, a pot, a plate and some cutlery. Put a plug in the sink (or use these plastic boxes Brits use), dishes in there, fairy liquid, turn on hot water and/or use the rest from the kettle. While the water runs go to the 'put leftovers away' step. Then just clean everything from cleanest to dirtiest, if you wipe the pan with a paper towel before soaking it you can get a lot of the grease out.
Taz, hun... Pleeeease don't use noise canceling headphones while cooking on that gas stove/cooker. You might not do that every time, but if you hadn't heard the noise at 6:09 when the gas was leaking, it might've burst into flames as soon as it came into contact with a spark. Thankfully it seems not enough gas came out to be able to do that. I'm glad you're safe and the food was lovely. 😅💕
IMHO, noise cancelling headphones is great for this kind of thing, and arguably safer because they have transparency mode, which is something that you don't get on regular closed back pairs. Since she heard the gas leak noise, she might have used it in that particular mode
Dear Taz, I'm a big fan. Like, big as in plus-size. And a big fan of your content. I am sad that your pjs only go up to size 16, especially because they have pocketses! 😍 I'll check back in case this changes in the future, but just putting it out there that there is demand from your biggest fans 😉😘 Keep being awesome!
I can literally watch you for hours, I literally have a time where it's Taz time, to refresh my mind and calm my soul out. Love you Taz ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just use boiled water from the kettle and put it in the pot for the pasta 😅 starts to boil quicker (idk if it actually does but to me it does) then i put salt and a bit of oil but not necessary. I'm just a salt maniac so I love my pasta seasoned as much as possible 😅
Me too the oil helps separate the pasta and not stick together! Boiling water from the kettle into a pot with two small spoons of salt. I cut my pasta in half before I put it in the pot of boiled water.
Taz, I've been watching you since the eating one colour of food for each day of the week videos xD And I just wanted to tell you that you never fail to make me laugh and smile. Whenever I'm having a really low day, or when my mental health is really bad I come to your channel, and although we don't know each other, I sorta do think of you as a friend...hope thats not weird!
Can I just say......very jealous of your knife skills! Looked very professional! Also, easy way to open a tight jar is by wearing rubber gloves or if you don’t have those, tap the lid of the jar on the worktop 😊 PS I really want some of those pjs!
Execellent effort Taz!!!! I would suggest the following next time you try a UA-cam cook’s recipe: 1. Use the Pause function. This will give you the appropriate amount of time to do each step well without having to go backwards. 2. A lot of the time, the chef will put a link to the full recipe in the description box. Use it to find out exactly what ingredients you will need, in what quantity and which cooking and preparation materials you need as well. Write them all down before you go to shop. 3. Even if they don’t give a link to the full recipe, watch the video once, again, using the pause function, to write down: ingredients, measures, items needed and, to make it even easier, order in which to use them. This will help greatly with my next tip. 4. Pre-prep your ingredients. The reason these chefs say: It only takes 10 minutes is because they have their ingredients pre-prepped. So, for instance, that stock could have been pre made and measured, ready for you to add. It not only makes the cooking process easier and more efficient, but far less messy and time consuming. In this way you would have known that you needed a zester or zesting plane (the thing you make lemon zest) and had it with the lemon to the side, ready to zest. It takes practice and you are doing an AMAZING job learning and improving!!! Pre prepping will help A LOT and will help clear clutter before you start to make everything a lot smoother. Just like when you were pre-prepping meals and just had to pop them in the microwave to reheat. 😊 SUPER GREAT RESULT!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
hi dear taz! if u see this (u propably won’t 🥲) I would just like you to know you are a literal QUEEN, U are one of the most genuine, wholesome and open people I’ve ever seen, you have made me able to be myself again during the hardest moments in my life and every day I come back to rewatch ur videos like a thousand times and seeing u grow up since 3-5 years is absolutely heartwarming for me I feel so happy to see how much you have achieved and you deserve all of it taz! 🥺🥺 thank you for making me laugh and always cheering me up even when i feel low! I absolutely love you taz 💕
Hi Taz....I just wanted to say thank you to you as you inspired me to start writing poetry..that's how I channel my sadness...and today's my birthday...u posting this video is the best gift ever❤️
am i the only one that watches Taz's videos multiple times?? she's such a comfort UA-camr. this is literally my 3rd time watching this video (well then again i do have more time right now as I'm in bed 24/7 recovering from a sprained ankle/torn ligaments🙈)
So taz, when you can't open a jar just jam a knife between the empty space and that'll probably open it cause they are air tight. Just a little tip so you won't have to wait for someone to come over before you can open another jar.
I don´t know if you know this Taz, but a tip for opening jars is pouring hot water on it (hold it in hot water for a few seconds). The lock will come off a lot easier:)
Jessica, on the channel how to ADHD has a video on ADHD friendly cooking. It is about three years old. I found it very helpful. Some of the tips I had discovered myself to lots of trial and a significant amount of error. I would definitely recommend giving it a watch.
Taz here’s a little tip: to open a jar easily just hit the bottom of it with your palm so your whole palm covers the circumference of the bottom and that will get rid of the suction seal and you can open it😊
Whenever a recipe gives a time of how long it will take I always times it by 3 at least. There is no way my ADHD self is cooking a whole meal in 10 minutes 😂
for a perfect fried egg, honestly just put some butter/oil into a pan, crack the egg and cover it I wait to hear the first pop and then its done, but like you could just check periodically or use a transparent lid love ya taz
I like to see Taz's videos from time to time. Mostly because I miss living in the UK and I vicariously live through her. Urrm, anyway! I am a Learning designer, and I cringe (so hard) every time someone says "I'm a visual/auditory/kinesthetic ... learner". There is really NO SUCH THING! There is no such thing as a "type" of learner. Absolute hogwash! We are all learning different things all the time, in different modalities! Stop this, please. Oh, and also. The merch is so cool! :)
Hi Taz, worst case without a grater you can either use a peeler or a knife to carefully pull off the very top yellow layer of your lemon, just dice it up really fine.
I'd love to hear the Gordon Ramsay tutorial audio throughout this vlog !! I definitely would be too anxious with him telling me what to do in my ear,lol 😅 way too stressful!
yeah it might be a 10-minute meal for someone who is experienced and has all their things prepped and sorted probably by someone else and they probably have someone to clean up too
I am definitely a kinaesthetic learner. I need examples and practical applications to fully understand a topic. I also need to try something myself to finally figure it out fully. I need things depicted clearly, with variations, examples and uses. If you just tell me a concept and leave it at that, I’m absolutely lost. I study by morning mental examples, or applying the concepts I read to my daily life. Then I remember them well. I learn best when I do stuff. I learn from practical experience. But then I also do have ADHD so I think things need to be as interesting as possible, or else I don’t even pay attention.
I love how this is the first thing I watch after balling my eyes out after watching "love like falling petals" VERY sad Japanese romance now im watching Taz stress out while I'm wiping my non ending tears
Little tip to open a can like that sauce thing, put the tip of a knife between the cap and the bottle until you hear a bop sound, it creates a bubble of air so it's easier to open it!

Taz.. The dish looks great, however, watching how stressed you were getting was really no fun. If I may, please don’t worry about the time constraint and just enjoy the process next time. Have a read through/watch through and make your own tweaks so YOU like it. Keep practicing too, makes all the difference! Love from Wales 🏴
7:40 With instructions, like a recipe, I'd probably do the best with a book or written directions. But if there's a step that is confusing, I'd want a video or someone in person to show me. I can't imagine trying to do it just from listening would go very well for me. I forget things, so I end up having to go back and review multiple times. Ironically, if I'm reading for fun I do way better with audiobooks. If I have to physically read, it takes me way longer because my mind will wander in the middle of reading and I have to go back and read that part again. With audiobooks, I can usually work my way up to 2x speed and follow it just fine.
Idk how I missed this but it came at the perfect time. I'm about to try my hand at homade 1 hour buns... as I'm cooking a turkey 😂😂🤦♀️ glad were doing this together

About 1 tsp of butter AND oil (each) works the best in my experience, same with an omelette!
