Our chicken coop is like Fort Knox. On Sunday, we make them stay in until we get home from church. They don’t like it but we live next door to a church and we don’t want them potentially crossing the line.
😆👍🙏 We always refer to our chicken run as the Fort Knox of Chicken Runs, as well! 😆🤣 Ours is fortified! We have coyotes, raccoons, turkey vultures, and nine breeds of hawks in our region of Texas. We've had Bald Eagles, but they don't stay around very long. A single Texas Rat snake made it in. However, it devoured an entire morning's eggs. 🐍😂

We have to keep our chickens under cover, due to hawk pressure. I was losing one a week to hawks before we built them a covered run.

Do you have a PO Box? Little Free Library Book boxes located in Mt Airy, NC for the children to get free books to share and read. You could also share your school books for others to learn of your stories and work.
Have you tried clipping your chicken's wings to prevent them from flying out of their run? It doesn't harm them or hurt them and it's for their safety when you can't be with them in the yard or you must leave the Homestead. Also their are nettings that you can put over the top of their run to keep them from flying out and keep them safe from Hawks or other predatory birds.
Yes ma'am. Kaitlyn talked about that some but I think I cut that part out because it was so lengthy and I didn't know if the video dragged on. She's cut the wings but some still fly over anyway. The rest don't.
We have free ranged chickens for years. A good dog and sometimes a trap takes care of most of our problems but if there seems to be a persistent predator we have temporarily fenced them. Electric fence works wonder.
Yes, I'd love a good dog sometime. And I wish we'd gotten electric fencing to start with but I was trying to be cheap. Lesson learned... Haha.

Hi mom for you to get more viewers please show us you doing work on your farm like kids feeding animals you doing the garden planting or cut in grass or baking bread or something but you have to show more of you s all doing stuff not just tacking on your farm sorry but you have to get viewers interested in things 😊😊❤
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm just getting started and will incorporate those. We do have a video of milking the cow and planting the garden. And in Day in the Life we make dinner. Keep letting me know what other specific videos you want.
