Great day by the creek with you, thank you for bringing us along!! Keep this up, don’t get frustrated and bogged down by formalities of episode numbers, do what you love, do what we all love doing.... living life outside, reveling in nature.
I’m going out to a new creek (good probability of gold, I live in the exact middle of California) but I get to bring along my dad and my 9 yr old son, 3 generations in the creek!! Even if we find no shiny.... it’ll still be golden!!
Good on you mate, keep living life how you want to.

Hey Chris, one of your patrons here. Just like to say how much I thoroughly enjoy your vids.
I have learned a great deal from you. (Great tip with dirt to soak up the water.)
You have entertained me with your candid easy style and the quirky stuff you and Grizzly get up to.
I am moving to Victoria soon and my son and I are keen to get out there and have some fun and find some gold.
... You asked for feed back/suggestions etc, so here it is.
I love to see the gram/ounce tally at the end if possible.
So glad you have not got too carried away ( as a lot of you tubers do) with fancy special effects such as revolving camera , collapsing shots into funny colours and twisting stuff etc,.... makes my eyes go funny and I just want to turn it off.
A little is fine but what I want is the close up of technique, ( like your great shots with crevicing in this vid ).
The how to, where to, when to, etc... on prospecting, mining and the tools used. ( which by the way I think you have been doing well)
And the perspective view of what and where you are working. The drone is a great addition..... Maybe panning up to the horizon ( pun intended) for more perspective would be good.
Love to see the geology of each area.
All this helps the viewer get a feeling for the terrain and sense of place .
Keep up the great work Chris.
    Cheers

      @VoGusProspecting  5 років тому

Thanks for the feed back, I hope you both find some!
I do most of what you mention at different stages in each video but rarely together as its not possible to fit it all in.

Gary has told you in his videos, if they are not packed in tight,
Not likely to produce. I have found the same true.
Deep cracks packed, hard work more gold!
    👍 great work keep teaching.

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  5 років тому +1

Not always true, ive found lots of gold in loose packed crevices. It more depends on water flow.
If they are hard packed its a good indication that they are old and untouched but don't forget the crevices that accumulate gold in a transitional area

Watched the same TwoToes video and I also got the fever, except we have over a 50" of snow on the ground. Watching you quelled the fever a bit. Beautiful gold, I didn't think you be sniping after the result of that first crevice. It was fun to watch you out there enjoying yourself. Thanks

Hey Chris...sitting here in wicked cold KENNEBUNK Maine and I can relate to Gary Two Toes videos when he
Snipes the river for gold...he is certainly a motivational inspiration...makes you jump off the couch!!! Also,
this summer I had to use a turkey baster, got at dollar store, to empty out a crack full of water on the river.
Worked like a charm and took care of the standing water easily...also I had a friend who gave me an old
Long handle BQ fork with flat twines...that beauty did a great job getting into a few tight spots...got to stay creative when looking for gold...hugs from KENNEBUNK Maine.

I absolutely love the video Chris. It is ok to scratch a crack as long as it is your own LOL. You are too funny. It sucks when you lose your gold I felt your pain on that one. I know that some of the bedrock around here is super slippery specially if there is water flowing on it have to be extremely careful. It would be too easy to slip and bump or even crack open your head. You had a good time and that is what counts and the video was awesome Chris.

Those were some nice pans. No packed gravel in those crevices, but good yields anyway. I am looking forward to a sniping video that shows you pulling some nice pickers out of that section of the creek on a warmer day with full sunlight. However, if you want to snipe up some nice sized nuggets like Gary, you should consider shooting a series of travel videos on the Yuba, American and/or Feather Rivers in California's Mother Lode country. I am heading there for a couple of weeks in March to stake and file some claims. In March, the water will be too cold with too much current for sniping. However, I am also planning a second trip for three weeks of prospecting and recreational mining in August. When I get my claims filed, you will be welcome to do some sniping and filming on them. Aloha. P.S. Where was Grizzly?

Cracking vid as always.. at 5.56 the crevice your working. Is that a quartze vien in there?? If ut is could be worth testing to see if its au bearing.. as you say. Stay adatpable. If you have a wet suite with you. put it on. then taking a dip. Wether accidently or by desire to plunder a crevice that youve just spotted isnt a problem. I look forward to the next instalment.

Chris.. I'm a terrible temperature pansy myself living here in Atascadero California it's cold in the winter for like 4 days :-) and it only rains for like a week out of the year :-( however if it's mild I feel pretty darn cold, so I know how you feel...

Handy little trck. Just use enough to make thick mud so it sticks to your tools and you can get it out of the crack

When I was in the middle east, 120F in the day, but at night it would drop to about 90-95F.... I never thought I could feel like I'm freezing in 90F weather! OMG we would put our jackets on to go out for a smoke it felt so cold.

Honestly Chris...I'm back to watching every video you make now since the VLOG video's....it's not that the Season video's were no good; they were very high quality!...But these latest video's are more...for the lack of a better word 'human', more casual and you seem to be enjoying yourself more. The tip you gave on drying up the crevice was great btw. Thanks for the enjoyable vid. Oh and as for Gary...was cool you showed how his video's effect you the same way it does me! lolHave a good one.
