  • I've used Voicemeeter as amazing audio mixer for the past few years. Other poular choices like the GoXlr and the GoXlr mini are awesome pieces of equipment, but are very pricey. Give Voicemeeter a shot, it's my favorite audio mixer I have used. Also let me know if you want a video about useful plugins or a tutorial on Voicemeeter!

    Voicemeter is truly the free man's tool. But what's been my issue with it over the years was lotsa frustration. It was either confusing enough to take up hours of my time or wasn't compatible with my hardware. Find a way to make it simple to setup and I'd kiss ya. Maybe I'd try it again.

      Yeah it’s definitely not the easiest to set up. I may end up making a tutorial simplifying it, but there are so many tutorials on it idk how the video would do

      dont have issues with it as far as just running it for simple use. i use my usb headset thru it. my gripe and issue though is that its a app. so if i want to turn something down i have to exit out and open that. a mixer would be nice to run things thru. so you can turn those off as needed. like if game is loud, turn that down if want to hear discord, etc.

    Also check your microphone requirements. If you use a dynamic microphone odds are you won't need a mixer just a cable that goes from xlr to 3.5mm to go straight into your computer microphone port. But this depends because some dynamic microphones can be very gain hungry so you'll just have to check if a certain microphone needs a mixer for that extra gain . If you plan on using a condenser microphone you might need a other mixer than the Behringer one in this video as the cheaper Behringer mixers don't deliver proper 48 volts phantom power that most condenser microphones need. This video is great but still do your research and make sure it fits your needs .

      For this reason, i bought a Behringer QX1204 used at ebay and a behringer XM 8500 to try another way with my audio.

    voicemeeter seems great at first but the problem is with a 2 pc set up i had COUNTLESS issues, lots of times i would have it set up perfectly, then go live and something wouldnt work, mess with the settings for 20mins and eventually put all the settings back to how they were originally and it would magically start working. nightmare.

      Sorry for the delayed response. You’re saying the sound effect is quite? If so you may want to put the noise gate on your mic then combine the two audio devices. If you have both going into the same track, then apply a noise gate it will apply to both.

    • @plagueasus22
      @plagueasus22 2 роки тому

      I understand what he is saying to a degree. He is lumping obs voicemeter and livestreaming in the same category being software base audio. In my opinion even tho they are software they are not the same. Your stream sound is controlled by obs your obs is controlled by voicemeter. voicemeter controles all audio. Software vs hardware you still got to go through all your audio before starting stream both can mess up now i can only speak on my experience i dont own any hardware but i own voicemeter potato. Its a good audio software its cheap it does what its supposed to. But the draw backs are it does take up some space if you are running a single pc setup and if you are multi tasking audio (game discord mic music ext) than it does tend to shit itself not all the time just at inconvenient times. Some games are very picky with the audio slots.
