    1. We don't like mind games (we know what you are doing and can sense your motives, esp INFP-As) 2. No Fakiness (we can sense that too) 3. Don't try to change us; we don't need fixing just because we aren't like you. 4. If you want to befriend us for 'taking advantage' purposes, just walk away; we would never do that to you.
    It's taken me 5 decades to really feel comfortable in my own skin and to finally feel proud of who I really am, and worthy. We really are great. Embrace who you are and please don't change or hide your light to make others feel comfortable. We don't owe anyone anything.

    INFPs can be VERY open and extravertish. Most introverts seem to be a bit neurotic, but many INFPs who are doing what they like lose all neurotic tendencies and then it is really hard to recognize the I, even when it is very strong and far from E.

      Plank Tonn, I know what you mean, I too am an INFJ that likes the INFP people, some of my closest friends are INFP people, their like special little snowflakes, but, unlike you, I don't want to capture them, I just want to tell them that they are special, that they do matter, and they deserve love, caring, understanding, respect, and lots of hugs, even if they claim that they don't want any hugs, I know that is bullshit, because, everyone likes hugs, even the people that claim they hate it, because, I know they secretly like hugs, they just don't want to admit it, because, they see affection as a sign of weakness, when in reality, admiting that you like hugs an effection is one of the strongest things you can do.

    All this time I always thought that there's problem with me because I'm actually picky when it comes to finding my own circles of friends, but because of watching this vid I realize that it's just normal for an INFP to do that. I'm always afraid of being criticized by others being judged by them, and I also don't trust people easily. The "Im not going to want to be friends with you" is said a lot, and as an INFJ its hard to understand how INFP's don't want to be judged but have very strict criteria for them to have even the slightest interest in wanting to be a friend. "You either have it or you don't." it creates so much anxiety, because its like walking on eggshells to avoid insulting them. Idk this threw me way off 😂

    Yes an INFP can have wildly different values, but also many similar traits. I concur wholeheartedly about your "one of the main things", we desire to spend time with those we value. Your presence is the best presents to us, especially the unwrapping ... sorry I will try and avoid the double entendre (I did mean, in depth of understanding as well, so I was only being half bad). But more seriously, I agree consistent and persistent time spent, if we are desirous, is most approbo. But I agree, you also must temper it by not being cloying or needy, we need time to acclimatize to you and give you our trust. Cancel on us to many times, and we will assume you are only agreeing out of a sense of obligation, and we do not want to be a burden so will let you go and not seek to spend any more time with you. If we were lookin forward to our time with you and you cancel to many times you will deeply wound us, and you will need to prepare a special balm to apply to our injured soul ...
    I dated a girl who could not just enjoy the time and get to know me, everything was about pushing her agenda. And not what you might think I daresay ...did you think long term relationship or marriage? Understandable that one might make that conclusion, but you would be wrong, she just wanted carnal involvement. I was still a virgin and had been a christian about 9 years at that point, I was baptized in the Spirit about 2 years, and spoke in tongues. I hade made a vow at age 19 when I was first saved. I took a vow of celibacy, that I would not fornicate, I would wait for marriage. She was not having any of that, sadly for me. More than anything I wanted to accommodate her, but I can not, and will not betray my own values. The Bible says "Better that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay." To betray my vow was unthinkable, although I did think about it, and came precariously close. I really thought she was the one for me, but then she said something, "I could never be faithful to you", and that was the denouement of that relationship. In parting I actually hoped for the best for her, my feelings of love were not gone, but I could never accept unwillingness to a full lifelong commitment. I never broke that vow ;-p. It is not that I do not want to have sex, but moreover, I want to have it with someone I can share a deep meaningful connection that will evolve into a life interwoven and intertwined, two colours mixed on the artists pallet, red and blue becomes purple, the colour of kings and majesty. If you want to ride the river Styx, my friends, you must pay the ferryman Charron, to take you to the other side. True love is a deep well, and those who bring no bucket and rope, shall go away thirsty.
    Out Te hates criticism if we feel it is unfounded or a betrayal of something we value deeply. Yes the written word over the spoken word, unless that spoken word is memorized and repeated verbatim. Our Ne makes spoken and unrehearsed words, chaotic and we will digress at every turn. Sometimes even when we write lol. I did make a rap on the fly once though for my coworker. See you digressed when you said "I do not know how I got on this one point", very INFP of you. I agree, we are responding not initiating, if we initiate and you blow us off ... never expect that to happen, ever again. The ball is back in your court, serve or go play with someone else, darn double entendre again, sorry I really tried. We are not messy! We are discerning in what we choose to organize and when ... we can be great organizers when our Si kicks in, but if we are in Fi and or Ne, then you will just have to wait, or better yet, offer to help us, if we like you we will appreciate it more than you think. If you judge us then Te kicks in and we will let you know how we feel about it in no uncertain terms, if you beat on our Te, beware because you do not want to meet our Ti demon function, you will not like us when we are mad.
    We are not quiet, our minds never shut up, we are just thinking about all the things we could say if we felt like it. You are right, safety and trust are synonymous. If we trust you we will feel safe enough with you to open up. Sometimes I get a good feeling about people and open up before they have proven trustworthy, I am usually right, but when I am not, feels bad man. I always try and keep my word, there are times I have done what I said at great cost to myself, like helping someone even when I was up 24hrs or more, a few times even 36 hrs. But they mattered enough to me that I was willing to make that sacrifice, exhaustion can be quite the impediment to fulfilling an obligation let me tell you. Other times I was there in cases of actual danger, not willing to abandon someone I care for in such a time. I actually talk a lot once i get to know and trust and like you, then you will wish I would shut up for a bit.
    If you are not willing to risk greatly, you will never know the true depth of love. Love suffers long is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not proud; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Yes even 3 is a crowd, we like mono a mono. I have talked with people and had an entire day dissolve into night, and at times into day once again. This is proof your INFP is fascinated. It does not of course denote physical desire, but for that to ever occur you must first win our hearts and minds. Then you might be able to pay the price, if you feel it worth the cost, to take things to the next level. Each person added to the mix diminishes our voice, knowing each person will alleviate our consternation. But even then we will often single out one person to banter with, not of course ignoring others if they chime in, we would never exclude you (assuming we like you) if we can avoid it and you initiate. We just find it preferential to dig deeper into one archeological site at a time, people can be a treasure trove of unique and precious relics of personality and knowledge, and we are fond of just such spelunking.
    It is true, not all personalities can mesh. Shared interests, chemistry, shared values. Ideological compatibility or a confluence of the right place and right time. If we are in a bad place emotionally, or already took on more then we have time and energy for, we might not have time to share or engage. We prefer to do so on a deeper level, and that requires more not less, to whom much is given much is required. INFP have a bad habit of taking on more than they can handle, and then they are forced to isolate and recharge. If we make room for you in all that, you are special indeed. Thank you for sharing your insights even if I am late to the dance.

    But... but... a cluttered room is... Ok, first let me say I'm INFP and the clutter can accumulate in my house. But I will recognize it starts to bug me, costing energy and hampering focus. At some point I will take time to unclutter, and feel better afterwards (sometimes even entering an uncluttered room just to enjoy the tidiness 🤣). So there is a wisdom behind that particular judgment. People can be pricks, that's not ok. My point is that a bit of a self-reflective response is healthy in case of judgment.
    This video is about what other people can do for an INFP. But there's a reverse. I think INFP's would help themselves if they are open to the idea of good intentions for instance behind behaviors of others that we perceive as judgemental. For them it may simply be a 'helping remark'. Or when the person is just looking and not saying anything, they're already trying to be nice 😅.
    I could be a person looking around like that, just for a moment before I realize I'm doing it, and then obviously stopping as I'm aware of how judgemental it comes across. But my thoughts would be about self-love, self-image, self-development, trauma, energy, focus, you know, the whole works.
    I'm telling my kids a cluttered room is never a good thing. It isn't. I will hurt you by saying it, I guess. There's no way around that. I could not say it. But I don't want to do the INFP thing of typing a long message and then not posting it. We INFP's see potential (in others) and that motivates us. So that's why this post.
    INFP's can be 'not nice'. 🙄 Argh the inner struggle just typing this...

I general as we try and function in that ESTJ world, as Eric Thor speaks about, mutual perceptions are distorted from the beginning. When we run into a co-worker, let's say, it is can be awkward, beyond a greeting, since we're actively "sorting," one kind of judging. Our perspectives seem a little too different. Mutual boxes go up. Of course, that's good, necessary in order to protect our core values, and so forth. But how much does the judgment we feel affect our ability to quietly just love and respect them, do you sense? How do people progress in this area of relationships, as an INFP? Love to hear your take.

    I can be very judgemental... but it depends on the person. If a person is being completely and utterly obnoxious, stupid etc. then they get judged and rightfully so, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. However, let's say I want to get to know an INFP... well chances are I'm starting off from a position of already knowing something about them in advance (otherwise I wouldn't approach them in the first place) and already having some kind of positive impression of them. In that instance, I'm less likely to be judgemental of silly little things they may do or minor issues (which usually minor issues are like negligible anyway) because I already have that positive overall impression of them. This means if they see me being judgemental to others, it's not a reflection of how I'd act to them because I treat people differently based off their own merits. If I treat one person differently to others, it's not fakeness, it's actually genuine esteem and interest. Thing is though, irl, I'm actually very rarely judgemental because I'm indifferent to like 99% of people so irl an INFP would be less likely to observe me being judgemental. If I am judgemental of someone then it's for very good reason - though if I am ever wrongfully judgemental then I would actually want the INFP to challenge me on it. Not that I'd be a wilting flower and back down immediately, but it would display a very rare strength of character that would be very attractive and more likely to make me care about them (it would show them as an equal). Not only that but if they make a good enough case, they may even change my mind. However, I would be careful of observing some behaviour and assuming they act the same to everyone as some people can be more complicated than they first appear (says me, the INTJ... yes, I do get the irony of me saying that -.-). Pride and Prejudice was a very accurate little tale on such things.

      I'm also an infp and honestly, I think it depends on how much he likes you whether he's willing to make time in his schedule, but I think you should give him options with 1-2 weeks apart to offer flexibility. So you could say "are you free next weekend or the week after that? Which is better for you, Saturday or Sunday?" Let him choose so he feels like he has some say in the matter rather than that he's being pushed into it.

    i don't understand how can there be a "social" infp.Wouldn't that make you an enfp instead then???
    or else what's the difference between enfps and so called "extraverted" infps??

    what i learnt from this: getting close to an infp is walking on eggshells... im not sure, if its worth it, or better be alone... (im an intj)

    • @BEE-lq2nh
      @BEE-lq2nh 4 роки тому +2

      alpha alpaca it really depends. Yes us infp’s are very sensitive, but the undeveloped ones can be toxic and expect everyone else to understand them only. Intjs + infp’s can be a good match (I’ve read on many successful pairings involving both) but it will take work. If you get close with an infp, be gentle. That’s all. And remember not all infp’s are exactly the same like she stated.

    • @alphaalpaca7779
      @alphaalpaca7779 4 роки тому +2

      @@BEE-lq2nh thanks for your answer. these infps want to be understood, without showing them selfs, right?
      the things we intjs say can sometimes sound harsh and cold... now the infp in my life doesnt answer the phone. now i just want an open and honest talk, but i dont know if its possilbe any more.

      @@alphaalpaca7779 We can be a bit overly sensitive some times but we also appreciate honesty. It´s not so much what people say as how they say it, if that makes sense. Like if people have some critisism against us we can take it if they deliver it in a reasonable and constructive way,but if they just sort of bark it out aggressively and make it sound like we´re super dumb or smth just cause we made some mistake, then it´s just gonna feel like a personal attack especially if the mistake wasn´t that serious anyway. Think of it like the difference between saying "person x is overweight" and "person x is a damn fatso". They both mean the same but the first is kinda neutral, the second sounds like it´s intended to be nasty.
