I would love to see a video by you showing how you create large signs with these methods. Do you use a certain program to split up words/letters to be able to make them larger than 8.5 x 11? How do you match them up? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for referring this vIdeo to me, it was before I subscribed to your channel and it answers my original question. I know what Polyacrylic sealer is but when you added “graphic sealer” to it I thought it was another product with a different purpose.
Thank You! I didn't know I could use Polyacrylic as a transfer medium that's good to know. I also discovered I have a 'monochrome laser printer so now I can make black & white lettering & photo transfers yay!
I LOVED YOUR VIDEO, ON PROBLEM IS Can I use chalk paint on CD n then transfer the Grafic on to CD will it work n what ink printer must be used so ink doesn't rub of, please let me know, will really appreciate your response 😀
Can you put polyurethane on the finished photo transfer? I want to put photo's onto a bench I made for OUITDOORS. How do I protect the photo's? THANK YOU
If I am transferring a black and white photo to a wood, which paint color is best to be applied on the wood transferring the black and white photo? Thanks
Yes it will. It can be a bit more tricky but can be done. The mod pdoge may show more around edges but you can paint around the letters with background colour to blend if needed.
I followed another tutorial by another person and they instructed to use a lot more modge podge (to the point you almost can't even see the print under it) - will this be an issue? You used a lot less.
I find you don't need much at all! I have made hundreds of signs and the more I use the more you can see mod podge around the edges. It also wrinkles and bubbles more. Try both ways and see what works best for you! Thanks for watching Sierra

all you had to do was print on special, transfer paper, not on ordinary paper, and you could save yourself from crumbling
A simple overview of this technique. Easy to follow

If I have an ink jet image, do I need to do anything to it to keep it from smudging when I put mod podge on?
Can you touch up little spots where some of the ink came off with a sharpie or so.ething before sealing? Will you be able to tell it was touched up?
Yes you can
They do pretty much look the same. Thanks for comparing.
Thanks for watching ❤️ yes not much difference
Hi! I just found your videos on UA-cam and am super excited!!!
But why doesn't the polyacrylic work with the inkjet printer?
Thanks for watching ❤️ the ink in the ink jet will not transfer with the poly acrylic sealer only a laser jet

Can polycrylic top coat be use for transfer.I saw the words "water base "and "polycrylic" and brought it. Now I'm not sure if I got the right one.
Yes, it certainly can
I can’t wait to try this. I gotta finish Easter first. 🤣

If I am transferring a black and white photo to a wood, which paint color is best to be applied on the wood transferring the black and white photo? Thanks
I always do a white background ❤️ thanks for watching
Regarding the chalk paint base - is there a formula that would dry translucent so that you can see the wood grain in the negative space of the print?
You could make a wood stain . That might leave some of the wood grain showing. ua-cam.com/video/pW_PlsSLJW8/v-deo.html
i have seen some using thinner . is it correct to use a thinner and what kind of thinner should i use..
I have not ever used thinner , sorry
thanks any way... i am from india northeast part... i love woodcraft and carving... is there any way i can contact you..
Hi! May I ask if what kind of paper did you use Here? Thankss
Just regular computer paper! Thanks for watching Erica
Simple & amazing explanation ❣👍🏼 polyacryl looks good & easy work
Thanks so much 😊
Do u have to use a paint before u transfer the print onto wood & seal with mod podge?
no you dont
Can you use the mod podge with the laser print?
Yes
Fo colored images look good using this method?
Yes, absolutely
Hi Deidre. Will this Mod Podge method work if I am placing the lettering on a board that is a different color? Lets say a red or blue back ground?
Yes it will. It can be a bit more tricky but can be done. The mod pdoge may show more around edges but you can paint around the letters with background colour to blend if needed.
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you.
Hi, can I use a design printed with sublication ink? thanks
I have never used that type of ink so unsure
Can you do this on canvas?
Thanks for watching ❤️ yes it will work great on canvas
What do I use to transfer to metal, raw or painted metal
Either will work
Would the polyacrylic spray do if you don't have the liquid? Great tutorial!
I don't think it would go on thick enough. You would need to paint it on so paper will stick well to it. ua-cam.com/video/0ji2k8ai43I/v-deo.html
I tried both and like the poly acrylic better
Yes works great on raw wood
Hi can I do this on metal too?
If it is painted with chalk paint yes!
Thank you 🤗
is this a laser print or inkjet?
Laser printer
Absolutely fabulous I love your videos
Thanks for watching ❤️ Happy you are enjoying
Why won't it work with an inkjet printer with poly acrylic?
I k jet won’t transfer
I did the polyacrylic one and the paper left a yellowish stain 🤔 any ideas on why? I used water based as well
Hmmm not sure I have never had that happen

Polycrylic (not Polyacrylic) is a different product to Varathane. Transfer works way better with glossy label paper. There's zero mess.
Homemade white chalk paint
Here is the recipe! : ua-cam.com/video/N2cb9xeWDvM/v-deo.html
Great ....
Thanks for watching ❤️
Too many ads for a single video.
it's polycrylic or an acrylic substance , but not polyacrylic..... misnomer or polyurethane, there is no such thing as polyacrylic, just sayin'
