OMG! Make your own stain? Baking soda paint? That plastic sheet decoupage technique! I've been crafting for a long time and you have methods I've never heard of! IHAD to subscribe to your channel, you're a crafting DIVA!
Real comedy that some younger UA-camrs have an ongoing drama of which of them did this 1st when did it in Girl Scouts in the Seventies and then to sell 4 side $ for the fanny pack in the Eighties! 🤣🤑🤣
Wow look at you go working that big vice lol, l’m going to call you Mrs Muscles from now on lol, love the squashed cans Deidre and how you’ve decorated them, love all of them, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Gotta tell you I have a friend who works in restaurant. They have huge cans. Going to make a large pocket to hang below my mail box. And one near my front door. Restraunt was thrilled to give them to me.
Have not done smashed tins but I have painted and decoupage tins made hanging flower pots out of them ...I guess I will be trying this next... loved all your ideas..Thanks so much...
I like the last one with the flower napkin. I use to but tile at Lowes and mod podge napkins to them using solid colors. I then took our photos and also mod podged them over the napkins and would leave a little border. Also once I found napkins with pictures of Santa Claus with old designs of postage on them. I put them alone on the tiles and gave them to my mother for Christmas. You also put felt on the bottom of the tile and can use them to put cups on if you wish or just decorations.
All the little tricks you have for crafting! So amazing. So much great information! Can’t wait to go thru my garage and find discarded wood and make things! Yay!
I have some tin cans that i beat down with a rubber mallet, thanks for some great ideas on what to do with them! I did cover one with drop cloth and put a stamp on, then added some lavender! Thanks so much for sharing!
Pamperedl Chef has a can opener that removes the glue from the lid and bottom of the can rather than cutting it so it doesn't have a cut at all. I use that and keep the lids for ornaments or other projects because the lid doesn't have sharp edges either.
Oh I love your take on these. I got the big food cans from my local school. I've removed bottoms but now have to finish them out. I love how different yours are. I'll definitely try some of these.
@@kayeyeager8006 it never hurts to ask. I am retired teacher and my younger neighbor still works there, so I asked her to get me 10 for me doing her one. Usually school workers will give you those. Now days with recycling, it never hurts to ask.
Thanks, Deidre, for sharing your spin on these. I've watched a number of tutorials, but you were the first that I've seen to use a vise to pinch the bottom together. BRILLIANT!!! This will be much easier on my hands (carpal tunnel) than using a mallet : ) The first was my favorite until you created the decoupage Boho tin w/that gorgeous green trim! I know that I'll be on the lookout for trim at my local thrift stores. Love watching your creative process at work. ~Shari

Barbara, do you think if I went to my local school and asked for big cans, they would give them to me?

Or ask a local restaurant. That is were I get my big pizza sauce cans :) Most of the time they love to get rid of them
