i dont think its meant to be a adaptation honestly, its like if you looked at the other movie or read the comics, its to flesh out other characters that needed more, everything
And writing, don't forget about writing. Maybe you don't think that applies here, But don't you *ever* forget about writing. Because THAT is *truly* what is going to make an animated show be loved.
Honestly we would’ve never got a one to one adaptation since Bryan Lee O’Malley doesn’t want to remake it so having a show that reflects his current life is a cool touch. I really loved this show as a fan of the comics, movie and game, while I was initially disappointed at first I really warmed up to it as a great sequel of sorts

@@hepty3179actually, it recontextualizes every single thing that happens so any character arcs that were at all influenced by Scott's presence are retconned, yet the show wants to keep these bits while ignoring the problem having a time travel can create for a narrative that was already solid for about a decade
Like damn, they really wanted us to feel like Ramona had the same puppy dog love for Scott because if not, she would've left like all the other exes, since she didn't actually learn anything from her experiences 😬😬
I’m sorry but I just wanted a straight adaptation to the comic and what we got instead is really disappointing and I think I would prefer a proper adaptation compared to what this show tried doing.
Try judging it for what it is & not what it’s not. I get that the marketing was pretty bait & switchy. But in the end this was not meant to be an adaptation.
@@kaylemathewcomendador6964 I did judge for what it is and what it is is a messy cobbled together plot with barely any development for the characters where the plot is a boring whodunit which gets thrown out for some time travel bullshit that comes out of nowhere. So yeah I would say a show like that is pretty bad

I disagree the plot was honestly pretty fun and I don`t see how the time travel stuff came out of nowhere. I would still say it is pretty good tbh.
Take away I get from this review if Bryan Lee O'Malley would stop trying his creation "cool" and focus on being sincere, the show would've been a better experience instead of a frustrating one.

Honestly the show came off pretty sincere. Especially after hearing about the series creator’s divorce before the show’s production.
