Long tune headers and a tune is the best place to start, you won't get much if any from a "cold air" intake even though the factory intakes are already cold air intakes like every factory vehicle in the last 30+ years. After the headers, the best thing would be a cam. Just bought a 2017 charger pursuit with the awd hemi and need to rebuild the front suspension.
I plan on getting my 06 Daytona Charger tuned with the same one, i was looking at some older diablos but i like this one, its more up to date with the touch screen and peformance pages, i just gotta get my throttle body and cold air intake as well then i will get the tune... ive done my exhaust a few months ago and i changed my whole coolant system, im also changing my spark plugs next week and i should be ready for the tune!! Trying to add as much hp as i can!!!
06 daytona top banana #137-250 here These cars take well to modding. So much you can do. Look into some long tube headers and a nice camshaft and a dynotune for some nice power gains. I have a K&N CAI and a MagnFlow Catback with High Flow Catted Mids also and I do recomend getting the pedal commander or something of the sort for a quick and easy mod that will further increase throttle response.
I'm working on a new project I'm taking the Gen 1 Viper v10 and adding it to my 06 Charger. I sourced the engine I'm trying to verify if the 5.7 transmission will mate to the v10.
@@RTLifeYeah I was able to source the engine pretty cheap I was going to do the Hellcat Conversion the prices were decent but v10 wasn't even half the price. Only issue with the v10 is that it has to be rebuilt. I also have a parts store and was able to source turbos and superchargers CHEAP the goal of this is to get to 1900hp at the wheels and keep it looking as stock looking as possible
Had to update my Trinity 2 straight out of the box this year after paying over $700 pissed me off because had to leave it for an hour on wifi but it was worth it in the end
Diablo will give you the nice display but I did a little digging on one of HPtuners forums and found out the modified pcm you get with the trinity 2 platinum still works with HPtuners
@@deotona345_ it shouldn’t matter if you have the i3 or trinity as long as the pcm has been unlocked you are good to go, someone from hptuners replied and said diablos unlocked pcm is more or less the same thing they offer and can still be tuned with hptuners.
@@RICHOMIE_ maybe he's trying to get more money out of me but he said it won't work once it's unlocked by diablo it can't be unlocked again and HPT can't be used. Ill look into it more..

I have a hellcat and every year dodge does an update, making my check engine light come on and necessitating a bunch of back and forth to get a new custom tune, last time I had to do a factory pcm replacement.

Hey there man. Love the content. Is this Diablo Tuner worth getting if I have a 2014 AWD charger? Will it be too much trouble changing out BOTH differentials? I already have Corsa extreme exhaust and everything else mentioned in the video
Hey man I'm late to the party here and really hope you see this. Rookie question but thought you'd have a better answer than what I found on the internet. In the video you speak of 89 vs 93 - I'm from South Africa where the pumps only have 93 & 95. Out of habit I've just always put in 95. So two-part question: - 95 vs 93? We've always assumed 95 to be a better "cleaner" fuel. Performance wise, reliability wise, is this true? - When considering a tune like the Diablo, should I switch to 93? Since that is what the tune is for? I'd love your advise on this. As I said, in SA, everyone just assumes 95 is the way to go and that's what everyone runs on. Why we don't have 87 or 89 I cannot answer. Oh, also it's a '13 5.7 Jeep. It'll never run like the sedans but I'm very curious to see how far I can push it. Thanks in advance! Adolf
Few things, I doubt you get any sponcered links for the products you mentioned, but do you have some links to brands you recommend for intake, exhaust, differential and Diablo tuner?...
There are a handful of solid intake options. #1 get a hellcat lower air box (cheapest option). #2 if you go with an aftermarket intake setup grab a "volant" or closed box setup. Exhaust - Magnaflow Xmod all day - I love mine & it's amazing. Another solid option is Borla Atak. Differential the best option for me was an OEM 3.09 Limited slip. I was used to the similar gearing & it works nicely with forced air. The Diablo tuner is a solid option for people that want to do emailed tuning and light bolt-ons. Otherwise HP Tuners is a solid other option - most performance shops prefer that.
My Daytona said 354hp on the dyno on the car.. (which isn't the best I know) put diablo tune on...310hp....1100 well spent I'd say..took off the tune...350hp.....any tune barely hits 300...have full long tubes no cats cat back intake and t.body
Af dynamic intake straight pipe for sound but also weight reduction catch can and greene racing tune thts how our 09 RT beats audi S4s and g37 and 370z and even 8 speed RTs
What i hate bout this Diablo sport is that sometimes it lags and it keeps giving me some error, then I had to to start over.. I dont know. I mean there's pros and cons about this diablosports. You really gotta watch it from time to time.
@@RTLife The lag pretty much the screen would freeze. Then the error would keep popping up on start up saying your vehicle had an error during the last turning attempt. Which is I didnt do anything. Cause it's already tuned. So, when I updated it, then it pretty much sayin if I wanna upgrade i have to pay additional 300 dollars or something. So, I just leave as it is. 91 octane, throttle body 20%boost. Perf trans tune, jammer cai tune, Rev limiter, and etc.
I love my 5.7. I'm a build it, not buy it kind of guy. I got serious plans for my car. I love my Diablosport Trinity T2 EX Platinum tuner. I have a bunch of mods done and over I get my Holley Sniper EFI intake manifold installed, I'll get it dyno tuned.
I was looking into that intake manifold and decided against it. I read a bunch of stuff about cars losing power because that intake isn’t really meant for a N/A set up more of a boost intake manifold. The best manifold options for the 5.7 are either the 6.1 or 6.4 intake manifolds or the edlebrock.
@@HemivsNinja Well I do plan on boosting my 5.7 and it's true that the intake does not add HP. What it does add is bottom end torque... Lots of it. IMO the 6.4 intake is a waste of money. The Edelbrock is just a clone of the 6.1 intake just more expensive.

On my 2019 300S 5.7 so far I got Intake , Flowmaster exhaust with resonator delete I’m thinking of shorty headers next or throttle body upgrade then tune? But I’m still under warranty give me some suggestions R/T Life also how much HP would that tune give me ? Thank you
A tune like this should give you in the ballpark of 20whp. The upgrades you have in place will def make it more noticeable. Check out SRT exhaust manifolds - could get a solid deal on them.
On my 2016 Challenger 5.7 I did BBK shorty headers with Hurst 3” Cat-back exhaust system And he’ll cat cold air intake . It runs nice now thinking of a tune . Now the question is go with a professional Tune or Diablo tune kit .
@@stevealoia if you want the most out of it go with custom tuning but if you’re not wanting to spend the money and only doing light mods like mentioned in the video you should be good with the diablosport “canned” tune.
Let’s be honest here MOPAR Engines are pretty much maxed out from factory and any mods you do to it give very little gains vs a LS or 5.0. Your guys motor have such weak internals just running NOS you’ll blow the motor. Biggest improvement you’ll get like you said is tires and a tune to pretty much make your throttle positions more aggressive.
Bruh... literally seen a whole bunch of guys with 5.7 hemis run 150 shot of nitrous. That’s the most though you can run safely. I say thats good enough for stock internals. Now when it come to N/A build compared to LS and 5.0 i will agree that for some reason the 5.7 won’t pick up the same hp but it still can keep up if anything with those motors. There’s a ram 1500 that made it into the 10.s recently.
I really want to pull the trigger on a tune but I have a 2018 charger RT will need a new unlocked PCM. Can the PCM be installed myself or will I have to take it to the Dealership for that? I know in one of your previous videos you struggled getting the new pcm to work right?
Any advice to make a ‘21 Ram 5.7 quicker? Would a tune work with the Ram? I have Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust , K&N drop in air filter and 20” XD 778 Monster wheels with Nitto NT420V tires. And stock 3.21 gears.
I got a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with the 5.7. I was wondering how a bolt on built would wake up. I got all wheel drive, sand, mud, rock auto and snow modes limited slip front ant back. I believe it’s geared 3.09:1 with and 8 speed transmission. I’m thinking this would really wake it up. I was thinking of putting in a 3:55 gear set as well. Nice info I’ll be subbing to the channel. I’ve been running 93 since day one. The owners manual called for lol.
This was a great video! I would love to do the 91 octane tune on my 16 RT but the cost for the PCM I'm not really sure it's worth it to spend that much money, my volume was low while watching this I'm not sure if I heard correctly the price of the PCM how much was it again?

Congrats on adding to the Hemi collection!!! These Mopars are so much damn fun. The SRT8's are a blast - you're going to really enjoy it. Let me know how it goes!
@@RTLife absolutely Bud!
Great point about upgrading the wheels. It baffles me why they put such puny wheels on it factory
it makes no sense - 400+ lb-ft of torque is to much for 245 all seasons
Crazy they do that i just upped mine to 265’s toyo hellcat replica’s
I agree on the wheel setup bruh..all I did was CAI and 93 tune. Just those two mods were enough to spin my stock 20x8 rims/ 245/45/20 tires. Shit is so wack..they are to skinny! I've been watching you from day 1 dude..PERFECT videos
It would be super cool to see some work done to your wife’s 5.7 Grand Cherokee. My girlfriends got a 2017 5.7 Trailhawk tuned by Jay. Looking at installing his 0.5 HL cam soon. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
I was seeing if she wanted to add more power a couple of months back. I think she wants to get back into an SRT though.
Can’t blame her they’re awesome. Was looking to get one of those in the next few months but for the same money I can get a 17+ camaro zl1. You’re only young with no kids once right? 🤷🏻♂️
The R/T trim is for people who could not afford a scat pack or a hellcat but still want a piece of mopar muscle at a reasonable price
it's a fun trim to do a bolt on build with. The ceiling is certainly high if taken all the way
@@RTLife The things you need in an R/T is an LSD, Headers and exahust and a new cam lol
The RT platform is also a smart choice for those that want a low car insurance bill.
yah after the upgrades I listed out - Cam/Headers would be next up. That's when you start getting into big $$$ for HP. Certainly worth it though.
@@RTLife tru
love that Monte in the driveway too 😍 ive got a white impala SS I love it
Might have to try this on my 06 Grand Cherokee. Not really interested in making it fast but more HP never hurts.
That's how the speed addiction begins, lol.
This was a fun video, lol sure cool looking back, you are a Dude, appreciate the hard work you put into your Posts and Content, you made the right choice to go full time, I'm and we! are having a blast watching you grow! Lol hello to the family Luv&Peace.
A catch can is a must.
I agree - solid investment for keeping that hemi running clean
Long tune headers and a tune is the best place to start, you won't get much if any from a "cold air" intake even though the factory intakes are already cold air intakes like every factory vehicle in the last 30+ years. After the headers, the best thing would be a cam. Just bought a 2017 charger pursuit with the awd hemi and need to rebuild the front suspension.
You can hear the hemisphere wake up
I plan on getting my 06 Daytona Charger tuned with the same one, i was looking at some older diablos but i like this one, its more up to date with the touch screen and peformance pages, i just gotta get my throttle body and cold air intake as well then i will get the tune... ive done my exhaust a few months ago and i changed my whole coolant system, im also changing my spark plugs next week and i should be ready for the tune!! Trying to add as much hp as i can!!!
06 daytona top banana #137-250 here
These cars take well to modding.
RTLife: You should upgrade to a limited slip differential
Me: Laughs in manual Challenger
LOL
Awesome brother 💯👍
Thank you - def appreciate it
Just watch out for the Hemi tick and the lifters eating up the cam
Yep, MDS sucks

Honestly I wish I would have done the diff first before anything else, it is by far the best mod to do from stock before adding any additional power.
What did u go with?
@@nandoscustoms7786 I went with a 3.92LSD, once the weather warms up I am going to do a video on it
Thanks for video.I will try the tune and diff and air intake and see how it works.
I love the hemi. Its a solid and reliable engine.
Reliable? 🤨
Said no one ever.
If you have a Challenger with the manual traction is not an issue at all because it comes with limited slip.
Great content 👍
Thank you - def appreciate it
Just what I was looking for
When are the Jeep GC 5.7 upgrades coming???
She's probably going to end up trading that in for an SRT or something. She misses having one
@@RTLife didn’t she have a white one what made you guys trade that in cuz honestly I would’ve love to see that being built bro
i’ve been running the diablo tune runnin 87😭 but there is still a massive difference
I'm working on a new project I'm taking the Gen 1 Viper v10 and adding it to my 06 Charger. I sourced the engine I'm trying to verify if the 5.7 transmission will mate to the v10.
damn that's really cool! I've seen a challenger with a Viper engine in it.
Great video on the tune for the 5.7 bro
Getting a custom grind cam with ported and polished heads. They only tune through HPTuners so I have to switch from Diablo!
yah if you're planning on going supercharger/cam/heads etc. HP tuners is the better option. Diablo is solid for bolt on & emailed tunes (light build).
Diablo will give you the nice display but I did a little digging on one of HPtuners forums and found out the modified pcm you get with the trinity 2 platinum still works with HPtuners
@@RICHOMIE_ awww man. I have the i3 so I gotta buy a whole new pcm

That’s what I have. So much damn fun right?! Congrats & enjoy it.
Can’t wait to get my challenger
I’m always curious about cali mods passing smog. Good thing I have a 70’ challenger.
Bought mine brand new and immediately put on a bunch of these mods that will never pass here in CA. I don't care, its 5 years down the road and I managed to pay off a shop to pass my Yukon thats not CA compliant. When the time comes for smog, I'll find someone. Money gets everything done
For 2015 and later it costs about $1000 for pcm swap and tune for minimal gains
I love the sound of the exhaust inside the car, What exhaust work did your friend do?
I have to ask. Does sound really nice
I have a hellcat and every year dodge does an update, making my check engine light come on and necessitating a bunch of back and forth to get a new custom tune, last time I had to do a factory pcm replacement.
So everyone’s just gonna ignore the impeccable SS on the side?
Glad OKC has 87 89 91 and 93 at the pump.
Cool video! Brings back some memories from when we all started mods.
Btw anyone want a Diablo I have a T1 I don’t use anymore.

Hey there man. Love the content. Is this Diablo Tuner worth getting if I have a 2014 AWD charger? Will it be too much trouble changing out BOTH differentials? I already have Corsa extreme exhaust and everything else mentioned in the video
Dope Video as always. Where did he get the orange Trim? I had a diablo tuner on my Chrysler I had. Big difference.
Agreed tyres/rims 3.09 LSD exhaust then Whipple intake :)
Very informative video!
Made a similar video on this haha we said similar stuff too however I'd ditch diablo and get hp. My .02 cents.
I have to check it out! Great minds think a like hahaa
@@RTLife I appreciate it! I've raced quite a few people so I feel I know a little haha
Depends on user. Diablo is plug n play and HP is more involved for most...most people don't have the patience for HP
@@sostrucking can't do as much with diablo. Hp is better for tuners and easier for them.
Hey man I'm late to the party here and really hope you see this. Rookie question but thought you'd have a better answer than what I found on the internet. In the video you speak of 89 vs 93 - I'm from South Africa where the pumps only have 93 & 95. Out of habit I've just always put in 95. So two-part question:
- 95 vs 93? We've always assumed 95 to be a better "cleaner" fuel. Performance wise, reliability wise, is this true?
- When considering a tune like the Diablo, should I switch to 93? Since that is what the tune is for?
I'd love your advise on this. As I said, in SA, everyone just assumes 95 is the way to go and that's what everyone runs on. Why we don't have 87 or 89 I cannot answer. Oh, also it's a '13 5.7 Jeep. It'll never run like the sedans but I'm very curious to see how far I can push it.
Thanks in advance!
Adolf
Good stuff.. man..👍
Wow cool video 😎
I have a tazer and pedal commander. I'd love a tune but damn warranty
Awsome video again!!! Where did he get those floor mats?
diablosport says the jammer cai tune is universal. they said jammer is their brand of cai. I told them I use k&n. they said it would work fine for me.
@@RTLife thanks, I will definitely be doing the intake and exhaust this year.
Great video , tell me why the 5.0 Coyote puts out more HP than the 5.7 hemi ?…..
My Daytona said 354hp on the dyno on the car.. (which isn't the best I know) put diablo tune on...310hp....1100 well spent I'd say..took off the tune...350hp.....any tune barely hits 300...have full long tubes no cats cat back intake and t.body
Dammit I wish dodge didn't lock the PCM's in 2015. This would be a no brainer for most people.
it was such a dick move on their part! Modifying these is half the fun
When were you getting lags & errors? While loading up a tune or driving around?
The upgraded tune made a nice difference right?! Let me know how the dyno goes
@@RTLife definitely! The butt dyno definitely felt the difference!

A tune like this should give you in the ballpark of 20whp. The upgrades you have in place will def make it more noticeable. Check out SRT exhaust manifolds - could get a solid deal on them.
On my 2016 Challenger 5.7 I did BBK shorty headers with Hurst 3” Cat-back exhaust system
And he’ll cat cold air intake . It runs nice now thinking of a tune . Now the question is go with a professional
Tune or Diablo tune kit .
What benefits from swapping the gear set ?
This was a great video! I would love to do the 91 octane tune on my 16 RT but the cost for the PCM I'm not really sure it's worth it to spend that much money, my volume was low while watching this I'm not sure if I heard correctly the price of the PCM how much was it again?
Liked watching.
Why didn't you mention the pedal commander? That's a mod.... you can see it when you show the ignition.
