@@stronghomegym I'm from Canada. I'm in my 50s and just getting into lifting to get my strength back after a bout with cancer. I've never worked out before, but I've always been strong because of the work that I do. I'd love to see beginner tips, things to watch out for so you don't overdo it and hurt yourself, the best exercises for old farts who aren't looking for massive muscles, but just top be stronger. That kind of thing would be great. I appreciate you asking.
@@LincolnHawk-bk5yrsorry to hear about the cancer- glad you’re getting into lifting it honestly helps with so many things IMO- especially if you have a set up at home. I would highly recommend this program, I still do it for 12 weeks every year to check my improvements but I think it’s ideal for beginners stronghomegym.com/beginner-weight-lifting-routine/ also have a search around the website there are tons of helpful articles on there! Thanks for the ideas for new content too!
I had to put in my gym tracking app "exercise: j cups at x: safeties at y" when I started. now I remember where they are, but man it's those small things that make me want a home gym
Tape is a good tip, I have things marked with a dry erase marker but keep setting my hand on them and erasing one. Also the pull ups across, going to be trying that out as I can never find a way to get the band set right and feel comfortable stepping into as I need the help at the top of the pullup not the bottom and bands kind of suck at this.
Yeah that tape was so helpful, found it in a Facebook group once and it’s saved so much time! Way easier once you’ve filled up the board too. If you’re struggling with pull ups try jumping up and just doing negatives as slowly as you can too

@@stronghomegym I have to think, I haven't trained at home for a long time, now I'm improving my home gym😁, but at the time my mother used special hack the powerrack to hang clothes😅 👕
I just found your channel and I dig it. Love the alter ego and humor. I also find as an American, watching channels from the UK helps me plan out my small basement gym build as your garages are incredibly tiny. If it will fit and work in your garage, it will work in a small room in my house. We are still in the process of finishing the space for our gym, then we'll be onto the fun stuff I'm enjoying on your channel. Oh legend thanks I appreciate that... and yes UK garages are TINY TINY!! Some people do have a double garage that is more like a small US one but I'm working up to that with our next move ;) I just checked out your channel and love the detail you go into with the gym build... I wish I had something like this the first time I did it! How good are you with electrics? My garage doesn't have power and it would be useful to set it up there- did you have any videos on this sort of thing?
What did I miss? I bet you have a better hack up your sleeve share the wealth with a comment below... 👇
I've been watching a lot of home gym videos lately and your channel is definitely one of the most thoughtful ones. Someone sponsor this man!
Glad you like them!
Quality tips. I'm gonna use atleast a couple of them.
Great what ones will you use?
The tennis ball is ingenious... I wanted to try a Meadows Row without my bar slipping. Also the coloured tape thing.
Glad it helped!
Loved it, absolutely underrated gem of a video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Ring rows 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳 THANK YOU!!! FINALLY I CAN ROW WITH A DIFFERENT GRIP. I LOVE YOU FOR THAT ADVICE
Haha you’re very welcome- I love them too I find I can lift seriously more with that grip as it’s not my grip letting me down
Nice video bro keep going🎉
Thanks!
Great video! Bonus tennis ball tip: they can be used on the ends of adjustable dumbbells to save your thighs from bruising when picking them up!
Great tip!
Tennis ball is a great idea! I've not come across that before, thanks!
To be fair a lot of people do share that one but it is pretty handy and just as good as a landmine really
LOVED this video. Saw your thumb and instantly clicked that beauty of a face.
Haha legend thanks! You must have some other good ones?!
Brilliant. New sub.
Thanks for subbing! Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see, are you based in the UK?
