"Went to the end of the internet and had to go back and start over" amen brother! running gas is so easy (easier than running compressed air, certainly less pressure) and information is SO hard to find... it's like they would rather you not try, than give you the information to do it correctly!

Great info to share. Other than hawks my chickens are on easy street for awhile. The wolves are back and they clear out the coyotes and that helps all the small game and chickens around here.

We don’t really seem to have many wolves in our neck of the woods which is probably why coyotes are out of control. It’s open season on coyotes year-round because of it. Just not enough larger predators. You guys have bears up there?

There are a few areas of the country that are known to have some properties with free gas. Texas has some, and the rest, to our knowledge, are up in the WV, OH, PA area. It's really awesome to have!

You can buy a CTS to IPS tee
However, that wouldn't do you any good unless it's a large CTS like inch and a quarter because the CTS is a smaller size than what you've got. So you would have been bottlenecking it the whole way by going from a small size to a big size to the appliance if that makes any sense. But however, the perfection brand push connects are the best

    Good job
    Any time working with gas
Check with the utility company and local municipalities
    Just saying

How did you determine pipe sizing?? I’ve been trying to figure that detail out. I will be piping a long distance. Maybe 200+ feet at completion. Thinking 1 1/4” main from tank, then branch off from there in the appropriate size.

There are tables online that can help with that. Here’s one example: fire-boulder.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Gas-Line-Pipe-Sizing-Chart.pdf
Depends on the gas pressure you have supplying the line and, as you know, the length of the run. Also, of course, you’ll need to know how many input btu’s for all appliances that will be connected on the other end including any you might want to add in the future. One other thing to note is whether it’s natural gas or propane as propane has higher btu’s per volume.

@@GottaLoveGoats The way we do it for our clients:
      1. We measure the line from end to end
      2. We determine the CFH (Cubic Foot Hour) based on pipe size, volume and BTU
In case anyone asks you.. we just learned about this and in speaking with our Local Power Gas and Electric Engineering firm for the city they stated the tables are "prescriptive" but you can get better values by doing the calc and showing them.
      Hope this helps!
