Loved the video bro 💪🏾💪🏾 Question for you though do you no of any cold air intake that will work on 1999 Grand Marquis mainly looking for looks change the factory one with?
Sure, ADTR.net sells the K&N intake system you're looking for, they make one that fits 99-02 models! If you're bone stock, you should legitimately get a performance boost. adtr.net/product/mercury-marauder/intake-mercury-marauder/kn-fipk-cold-air-systems/
They actually sell adapter plugs now, you can find them on Amazon and Ebay, at the time though, I just matched the wires with one I pulled from the junkyard and soldered it up. Stepping up to a 80mm MAF does require a tune.
Well a J-Mod is a physical modification to the transmission valve body, you can do that with out a tune for firmer, crisper shifts. For the intake, if you have a 2005+ CVPI you should be fine, any other panther platform car will most likely need a tune because the smaller MAF doesn't like the increased airflow. My setup is custom, so I was already tuned. Hope that helps!
I did not, however the car was previously converted to the 04+ CVPI airbox/MAF, so I may have gained a HP or two, nothing I'd really notice. That being said, AFE claims 12-14 HP over the stock civilian setup, which I believe, especially with a tune and 80mm MAF conversion.
You are trying to make an old mans car into a hot rod. I personally think the factory mercury marquis sounds much better so I will leave my 2004 just like it is because it runs great and it is also very fast.
nice setup! i never really liked CAI but that one turned out really well. once you put a set of cams in there it will really wake up ol' grandpa.
The custom grind TW cams/new chains/tensioners have been ordered, but won't be going in until the end of the season, but there will be videos!

@@michealgray533 spectre coupler from AutoZone not sure on the size
@@michealgray533 had to stretch it just a bit but works great
@@SJ_MERC so just the stock coupler?
@@michealgray533 it’s not stock it’s from AutoZone , you have a cold air intake or stock intake ?
How did you go about converting the mass air flow sensor to the new style?

Nice 👌🏿, since the installation did you feel any difference in acceleration from a dead stop

@@Socoolds455 ok good deal 👍🏾

Great thing about hot rodding, I built it to please myself, not anyone else. Thanks for your opinion!
Sorry man, the constant pointing and thumb ring is a bye bye for me
Uh, bye Felicia!
