I just watched all of MOTU yesterday, i never saw any of the trailers but man i loved it. The only part that really bugged me was that scene where teela just stormed off and left the kingdom. That just didnt seem to fit her character in my eyes. You cant say shes one of the most powerful Knights in the kingdom in one scene and them have them acting like a child 10 min later. But other than that im ready for part 2.
Honestly while I liked some of the new stuff they did frankly I was bored most of the time. Not in a "man I hate this bored" but in that I only really felt excited when He-Man or Skeletor were on screen. No one else really has the bombastic charisma they have.
Mark Hamill said his Skeletor voice is an impression of Tallulah Bankhead (a bisexual actress from the 50s whom Hamill said fit Skeletor's personality)
I was quite disappointed that peacemaker didn't have as many character rich moments as the others and although I did enjoy the subtle moments he got, like when bloodsport talked about how his father treated him and Peacemaker gave him a look to say "yeah same" which is cool since they're implied to have the same upbringing, I was hoping for more since I feel like they were setting him up for a redemption arc. Although he is getting his own show so I can't complain too much. Overall enjoyed the film, glad to see you guys did too.
He is getting a show just because Gunn liked him so much, which makes me think there was plenty there but he got pushed back because he wasn't meant to be a team player at the end.
I wouldn't say the trailer for Suicide Squad really played with expectations if you were paying attention to the actual footage shown. Most of the characters only have footage for them pulled from one scene, none of which shows them interacting with Bloodshot, Peacemaker, or Starro in any way. It's not that surprising once you actually see the movie what happens.
SPOILER WARNING I wouldn’t be surprised if Captain Boomerang came back. If you read the first volume of the Suicide Squad run in Dc rebirth he gets disintegrated by General Zod’s heat vision but comes back later.
Hell yeah, right there with you, Kiaser. I enjoyed my time with the new MOTU. I was out of the loop about what was happening within the fandom, so I wasn't skewed by it. If anyone wants to go into the show I suggest going in blind.
Quick King Shark point but I’m certain his inclusion has nothing to do with his recent increase in popularity. James Gunn has said the design similarities between him and his Harley Quinn show counterpart are coincidental and that they considered using the hammerhead design at one point so at most the biggest impacts on his inclusion probably would have been Assault on Arkham (the first Suicide Squad movie) or Gail Simone on Twitter.
Yeah if I recall correctly the hammerhead King Shark CGI model was already made and tested, but it just made scenes really awkward due to his eyes only seeing one side each and made him interacting with others very awkward, Gunn did want the hammerhead design but had no choice but to just accept this one.
MOTU: Revelations was pretty good if you asked me. My biggest complaints are that Mark Hamill's voice really doesn't fit Skeletor; I wish they'd brought back his voice actor from the 2002 MOTU series along with the fact the marketing was pretty misleading with it claiming to be a continuation of the 80's series when it had almost no connection to it. Other than that,I thought it was pretty good!
I wasn't a huge fan of MotU, it had some good points, but they just utterly buggered Teela. We'll have to see if they can pull the plot out of it's own ass with the next half. And as much as I love Hamill, he kept drifting into Joker. Not TERRIBLE, but not what was promised and not written well. Animation and vocals wise it's great, but good lord that plot needs like three rewrites.
I was one of them people who wasn't going to watch masters of the universe because didn't like the way they essentially lied about he man and the misleading trailer but kiasier has convinced me to give it a try
Way too much of the hate for MotU is rooted in a bunch of white dude Bros who are pissed about King Grayskull being black and Teela being the POV character. If I see one more comment bashing MotU because it’s “woke” or some “Leftist Conspiracy”, I’m going to send them a sternly worded comment in response calling out their racist and/or sexist bullshit. It’s a fantastic show and I’m waiting eagerly for the next part. Yes, 5 episodes is way too short; but DAMN!!! If there is a better cliffhanger to leave us on, I don’t know what it is. Mark Hamill knocks it out of the park as Skeletor. The increased focus on Teela is nothing new for the series. There are plenty of episodes in the original Filmation run that He-Man takes a back seat (often to Teela). The Goku comparison is absolutely appropriate. Honesty bitching about He-Man being gone is like bitching about how Goku was gone for most of the Namek Saga.
Honestly I personally wasnt a fan of how it was paced, and it wasn't at all what I expected from the first trailer, but all in all it wasn't a bad show. I may not love it but it's certainly not bad enough to warrant the insane backlash
Yes why would long time fans care about the meaningless race swapping and then killing of the main character for a bastardized version of Teela being one of the worst characters in apparently her own show? The fans were lied to because Kevin smith knew this shit was not what they wanted. It’s not a conspiracy really, it’s effortless cult like behavior towards shoving as much bullshit in ass possible. Just like how Star Wars has a woman, black guy , and Asian girl who have no character past being a woman, a black guy, and an Asian girl. No one likes this kind of underhanded bullshit, and you only accept it for blind allegiance to a political tribe. This shit was ass and was tampered with just like all the other modern franchises ruined by woke losers. And you must have not been a dragon ball fan because one of the biggest complaints about the namek saga is how fucking long it takes for everything (and specifically goku) to start happening. People also bitch about snake way, and the convoluted ass death save in the buu arc. It’s definitely woke there is no doubt about that and just like every franchise that goes woke this shit is flopping hard.
@@steadyalbatross nah it does that shit was ass, and it goes both ways people bitched about all the white people playing avatar characters and now they casted correctly for the live action version. So it does warrant the backlash because this shit was garbage
@@randalthekidd7006 Thanks for being the heel. So just so we are on the same page, Long Time Fans don’t have any context for King Grayskull’s race because he wasn’t in the original Filmation Run and was created just for the 200X series. And that wasn’t even in it till long after most people forgot about the show and stopped watching. Personally as one of the few people who actually watched 200x when it was still being aired I complained about how lazy his original design was. Is Revelation’s King Grayskull what I would have done? No. But it’s far more interesting than “what if He-Man was bigger with long hair?” As has clearly been established in Revelations; DEATH DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING! It’s done for dramatic effect. At this point Adam has died twice, and if you think that second death is going to stick; then I’ve got a bridge to sell you. From a story telling perspective Adam’s story is dull. Teela as the point of view character we follow has at least some unknowns to both the world at large around and her abilities in that world. If Adam was the POV character (assuming they didn’t follow this current story arc and just have him sitting around enjoying being dead half the time) the only real drama comes in how will he transform into He-Man or some convoluted bullshit of how he lost his sword in another dimension and needs to get it back before he can change. Past that it’s “He-Man tries really hard, but he’s strong so he does the thing” which is just absolutely droll at this point. As a kid, sure that’s high drama, but if that’s what you want just go back and rewatch Filmation (which I regularly do just for fun as well). Now your assumption about my political ideology is the most laughable part of your comment. I’m a fiscal conservative leaning more towards the libertarian wing of the Republican Party (despite what feels like the party trying their hardest over the last 10 years or so to kick people like me out because we see through the bullshit the party leaders, especially Trump, have been spewing). The ideals of inclusivity are not something Democrats hold exclusively. If you recall that a need to focus on inclusivity was part of the post-2012 Republican report on why we got our asses handed to us despite all the momentum going in. You cant build a political party on white males, especially at the exclusion of other groups. And who really is the Dragon Ball fan here if you’re bitching about Namek? You haven’t read the Manga! You stated that in your criticism of it from your last post like some casual fan; because the points you levied against it are only present in the Anime adaptation because rather than take a break to let the Manga get further ahead, they pushed further with barely any content written. Perhaps in your little racist sexist bubble MotUR is flopping; but those people decided it was going to be a failure before we had a teaser poster for it. Every real person I know has enjoyed it and are eagerly awaiting the next part. And if you think MotUR is “woke”, have you bothered watching any of the Filmation Run? It wasn’t a word then, but by modern standards Filmation is Woke as well! Women who are not purely damsels in distress? Expressly calling out male chauvinism? Accepting others no matter what they look like on the outside? Sure sounds “woke” to me. MotU was birthed from what people today call “woke”. The original 6 figure run that launched the series included a female character! No one did that in 1982? Hell, the toy industry barely did that in 2012!
@@steadyalbatross it doesn’t take long for the majority of those seriously hating on Revelations to start showing their racist, sexist, or homophobic tendencies. The homophobic ones seem to have disappeared since the show actually released and they can no longer can pull out of their collective asses Teela being gay as a major problem with the show. Not that Teela being Gay would actually be a problem; but the series as a whole hasn’t spent a lot of it’s focus on romantic relationships. King Randor and Queen Marleena being the only confirmed Heterosexuals in the show; and even that doesn’t exclude them from being Bi.
Honestly I feel like he's an easy fit for Knuckles' Dad or an Echinda Chief, but not Knuckles. Then again I'm not *too* familiar with his other work, let alone any voice work he's done so... Who knows.
He was one of the sea lions in “Finding Dory”, the buffalo police Chief in “Zootopia” and Sheer Khan in the newer Disney live action “Jungle Book” movie if that helps at all.
Honestly why I think this suicide squad was better was that the mission was more a political suicide mission with no global stakes until the very end. Rather than sending this team on a suicide mission to stop this world ending threat immediately
I REALLY doubt they included King Shark to try to pander. I dug the first season of Harley Quinn too, but the bubble of people who give a fuck about King Shark is still microscopic. Also, Gunn's version of him is SO different from past iterations it's apples and oranges. He'd just be pandering to anthro shark fans at that point.
I had no problem with Masters of the universe revelations. However Teela was the worst part. She was just down right unlikable. Her best friend didn’t tell her he was He-man and she just hates everyone for it.

I like Masters of the Universe and The Suicide Squad is now my 3rd favorite comic book movie
I still can't believe TDK was played by Nathan Fillion
I was genuinely unsure if Kaiser was pretending to not remember Milton, lmao!!!
Gonna have to call y'all on confusing Pete Davidson with either of the Franco brothers there.
Honestly? I clicked this vid just to watch the bokksu unboxing as I might want to see Suicide Squad myself first 😆
Mark Hamill said his Skeletor voice is an impression of Tallulah Bankhead (a bisexual actress from the 50s whom Hamill said fit Skeletor's personality)
where does kaiser buy his japanese snacks on/from ?
I was quite disappointed that peacemaker didn't have as many character rich moments as the others and although I did enjoy the subtle moments he got, like when bloodsport talked about how his father treated him and Peacemaker gave him a look to say "yeah same" which is cool since they're implied to have the same upbringing, I was hoping for more since I feel like they were setting him up for a redemption arc. Although he is getting his own show so I can't complain too much. Overall enjoyed the film, glad to see you guys did too.
That's probably why. Although my favorite subtle moment was how he seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown after fighting Flagg
@@grandpagohan1 yeah he seemed very conflicted
He is getting a show just because Gunn liked him so much, which makes me think there was plenty there but he got pushed back because he wasn't meant to be a team player at the end.
I wouldn't say the trailer for Suicide Squad really played with expectations if you were paying attention to the actual footage shown. Most of the characters only have footage for them pulled from one scene, none of which shows them interacting with Bloodshot, Peacemaker, or Starro in any way. It's not that surprising once you actually see the movie what happens.
If King Shark's skin is tough enough to ignore bullets how did they but the bomb in his neck?
Kaiser's Anime face at 3:41 so funny lol
Miiiight need to change his pants
SPOILER WARNING
I wouldn’t be surprised if Captain Boomerang came back. If you read the first volume of the Suicide Squad run in Dc rebirth he gets disintegrated by General Zod’s heat vision but comes back later.
Okay I’ll bite how the heck does he come back from that in the comics? Even for comic books disintegration seems pretty hard to come back from lol
@@Churrowhisperer Comic book bullsh*t. He gets turned into a computer virus and then comes back. It’s been a bit since I’ve read the comic so sorry.
This movie was a lot of fun
Hell yeah, right there with you, Kiaser. I enjoyed my time with the new MOTU. I was out of the loop about what was happening within the fandom, so I wasn't skewed by it. If anyone wants to go into the show I suggest going in blind.
Bruh these guys are using stream labs and not OBS studio
I agree MOTU is fantastic but yes, Teela charicter was a little rough
Video begins at 21:22
Kingshark: Your Not My Dad
In one of the animated movies King Shark had a same sex romance with Constantine and I would pay any amount of money to see that referenced on screen.
Regarding the World vs King Crimson, I believe that has been answered by the latest Jojo fighting game. Can't remember what the answer was though.
Any one else constantly fearing king shark would kill one of the squad
Food boxes are way better than item boxes
Already got mine ordered lol
“Whichever Franko”
Did you mean Pete Davidson?

Thanks for being the heel.
No. But it’s far more interesting than “what if He-Man was bigger with long hair?”
As has clearly been established in Revelations; DEATH DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING!
Wait
Who’s Milton 🤔??
I REALLY doubt they included King Shark to try to pander. I dug the first season of Harley Quinn too, but the bubble of people who give a fuck about King Shark is still microscopic. Also, Gunn's version of him is SO different from past iterations it's apples and oranges. He'd just be pandering to anthro shark fans at that point.
the squad talking about the squad
I had no problem with Masters of the universe revelations. However Teela was the worst part. She was just down right unlikable. Her best friend didn’t tell her he was He-man and she just hates everyone for it.
King shark is a superboy villain oddly enufe
I really enjoyed MOTU can't wait for the back half.
