    While you're Jonesing on the Hamiltons, don't miss out on the Khaki Field Titanium, which comes in 38 or 42 mm (I know you'd love the 38). My friend got one a few weeks ago and he claims that it lost just 2 seconds in an entire week!

    I bought the Seiko sports GMT recently and I absolutely love it, took it on holiday, never took it off, swam with it in the sea, lounged by the pool then went out for dinner in it, suited all occasions, and despite taking other dressier watches I never felt like wearing them, the Seiko just worked perfectly.

    Britt, just wanna say I've started watching through your episodes, and you're fantastic! Your natural ease in front of the camera is delightful, along with your passion and enthusiasm. And, not to make you self conscious of it, but your use of the coffee cup is low key brilliant. It gives you this two-friends-hanging-out energy that works beautifully. Awesome! Cheers:)

    It is so strange that almost no one gives credit to Mido. Im so into their watches. Awesome quality and design for a lets say reasonable price.
    A couple of brands mentioned I wouldn't say entry-level, like IWC with the Spitfire. That watch goes around 1700GBP on chrono even used. There are some quartz breitlings and older automatic Tags in entry-level pricerange for half the price of an IWC. I don't say they are better options, but they're more like entry level watches if someone is fine with used stuff. Im mostly fine with them because there are a lot of watches you can't buy brand new, like Seiko Landmasters from the 90's which were only sold in Japan at the time.
    Awesome video by the way, very helpful for beginners like me✌️

    Nicely done. Just added a Squale 1521 as entry point to my existing collection. Just under $1K but great vintage diver look, nice finish including rotating bezel click click sound. Most importantly in my eyes, I was captivated by the founder Charles Von Buren dedication to develop the best pro diving tool in the early 70, working with free diver legends like Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca.

    "You really can't argue with the PRX"
    Well I can
    The powermatic 80 uses plastic parts and is not repairable or serviceable. It's essentially a disposable watch. It's either a new movement or the bin. This is one of the few times I'd say get the quartz rather than the auto. You're still buggered if it fails but you've lost a lot less money

    I would have called it most accessible offering versus entry level. Just because most people think cheap when they hear entry level. Pretty much outside of Casio, Seiko, Citizen any of the big boy watches don’t really offer entry level. A 3K Breitling is still a damn fine luxury watch. But I see where you’re coming from etc. The Omega Railmaster is a great entry point into Omega. I have one, and it is fantastic. Beautiful, refined, and wets the appetite for Omega.

    Like Seiko 5, PRX has no screw down crown despite 100m water resistant. If one were to wind it daily, will the water resistant be compromised? So it is not considered suitable as a daily swimming watch. Unlike Casio which has no winding required.

    *For most buyers of the expensive marques, I don’t believe “entry level” applies in the way it likely does for the Casio Timex customers. For many wearers of a Rolex, Omega and similar, getting one is the final level. The Rolex OP wearer stays there, s/he doesn’t trade up or add to a collection with more expensive, greater complication models the way enthusiasts & WIS nerds (such as myself) often and continuously do.*

    I wanted the most watch for my money in the luxury segment and decided that a top-end Tissot was better than a bottom-end Longines. The watch I chose was the Tissot Seastar 2000 and if you happen to check out the specs, it's basically an Omega Planet Ocean for 1/8th the price. It literally out-specs every single dive watch below the specs of the Planet Ocean including the Mido Ocean Star, Tudor Black Bay. Rado Captain Cook, Hamilton Khaki Diver, Longines Hydroconquest, Glashutte Original SeaQ, TAG-Heuer Aquaracer, Breitling Ocean Master, Oris Aquis, Omega Seamaster and Rolex Submariner despite costing way less.
    If I hadn't bought it, I would be regretting it today. Fortunately, I knew that at the time and didn't hesitate. I would recommend checking it out to anyone but do keep in mind that it's big at 46mm (rivalling the Bulova Lunar Pilot and Invicta Grand Diver) but if you have flat, slab-shaped wrists like mine, it's absolutely perfect and a must-have.

      @watchpapi 7 місяців тому +1

      @@planetdee3587 That’s awesome, and if you love it, who cares what a bunch of UA-camrs / Forum dwellers think!?
      TAG fell out of favour with Watch nerds in the 90s and early 2000s, I think largely because they started to produce a number of quartz ranges, at very approachable prices, which in some people’s minds “cheapened” the brand. Heuer was a bit of a darling amongst enthusiasts, who thought the buy out and subsequent brand direction to lower pricing was a bit of a sell out.
      It has been hard for them to recover from that, especially as they then went hard after the smart watch market with their Connected (I think it’s called) range.
      Doesn’t mean they don’t have some fantastic offerings and I remember being at school and thinking they were the bees knees, it’s all just optics and how the parent group wants to position the brand in and amongst the other brands in the stable.

    I'm reminded that one man's bread is another man's poison. Once a watch creeps up past, say, 1500 (pounds or dollars), I can't consider them "entry level". Mentally, I live on the value sigmoid curve and know I'm only getting minute incremental gains (in looks, function etc) for lots more dollars and honestly, for me, a lot less enjoyment! I'd worry all the time about any high end item (watch, pen, car etc). I'm very happy sporting my entry level Hamilton Khaki Field!

    I love it’s minimalism & no date complication

    Your correct, entry level means entry level price point for the brand that gets you into one of their watches. I have the Seiko 5 GMT, and the Seamaster, both are fantastic watches.

    • @BrittPearceWatches

      Ahhh, I get in this argument with people sooo often! Whenever I call my OP "entry level" (.... which it is), my comment section is "ROLEX ISN'T ENTRY LEVEL" bahaha.

    • @angelacosta466
      @angelacosta466 7 місяців тому

      @@BrittPearceWatches lol it’s because people have misconceptions about what entry level means. To those people it means cheap, or lesser quality. Your OP is beautiful, great quality, and not cheap. In terms of price point it is entry level for Rolex.
