- The government of national unity now comprises nine members, with the United Democratic Movement and Rise Mzansi being the latest parties to join. Other members include DA, IFP, Good Party, PAC, Patriotic Alliance and Freedom Front Plus. Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi says it was very important that they get into an arrangement in Parliament, where they're going to be able to make a difference.

This means that the GNU parties are more a majority in parliament even if the DA walks away.
Without the DA, they will struggle to get to 50%. If DA leaves VF+ and IFP will likely also leave. The EFF and MK wolves will devour the ANC.

I too, question these parties who are now only joining the GNU AFTER the president was elected.. Hopefully they are joining because of noble reasons and not to secure lucrative cabinet or other senior positions.

This man must be an ordinary MP.. he cannot come late to the party and expect more than that.. He talked a big game before the elections, but unlike the MKP, he did not deliver the votes.. Constitutionally, the cabinet IS the president's prerogative. In reality though, he has to consult with and keep his political partners happy, internal and external. Without their support, he's on life support and on his way out.

Rise only got 0.42% of the vote and UDM 0.49%. They should get nothing.
The ANC needs to realise they only got 40% and need the DA to govern, especially Ramaposa. The DA doesn't need the ANC. They are used to being in opposition.
The fact is, if the DA leaves, the so called GNU (actually a coalition) will fall apart, and Cyril will be gone, and SA would continue its decline and the poor will continue to suffer.
It is necessary to involve as many parties as possible, every small% counts, we can't have Helen try to be a Karen like she has this week. If eff or mk can just join to solidify it...

This is such an uninformed take. Without the ANC, the DA will sit alone with its 21%. No other party is willing to work with them, and none of the progressive caucus would ever be willing to work with them. Without the ANC, the DA has no one it could ever work with, all the ANC needs to do is boot Cyril and work with the MK if push ever came to shove, what's the DA's backup plan?

Ramaphosa has killed the ANC and absolved them from taking any blame and responsibility in this term. the question is do ANC comrades think this is the end of the world or they will go back to the same voters in 2029. Ramaphosa has not delivered nothing in first term except arresting his comrades, this term is to use other political parties to cleanse himself from his failures. This term could become a worse term for SA as I anticipate high failures and some huge constitutional changes that will leave SA ordinary black in perpetual poverty. Ramaphosa and his criminal syndicate will use these parties to take blame on its behalf while DA-ANC changes to the constitution with their 60%
Try not to see everything as a loss for black people. This new government must deliver on their promises to all the people in South Africa. It is their responsibility to help all those in poverty first and foremost. If not, we will vote them out...one council at a time. Don't look at the race of a person, but demand that they perform their duties to bring all to participate in the economy. South Africa will never succeed if this issue is not addressed. God has no favorites. Let's follow His commandments and He will heal this land. Let's stop fighting and start serving. Then we will be given wise leaders and prosperity. Let's build and not destroy. We all need one another. Peace.
For now I think we need to move forward than complaining as it will never end.
Not to say we don't see mistakes of ANC as much as they also agreed.
