John, great job as always. I installed my camera about a mont back and love the bigger and clear reverse camera.
When installing I made the same mistake and ran my cables through the hole for the speaker housing plug.
So I drilled a hole pretty much in the same place. I had paid to install a small reversing camera with the screen showing in a replacement rear view mirror.
I connected into the old units reversing light wire.
Now have both working which is great!!

Excellent video John. I'll be installing my Carpuride w903 this week. I also purchased the hard wire kit.I'll let you know in four months after I finally have installed the sysytem. Looking forward to the next video.

Hi John, you did a great job. I would have drilled the hole just like you did. By the way, I installed my camera, the front camera and connected it to the carpuride. It must still needs to be precisely adjusted. But it already works. Then put in the loudspeaker. And also the microphone Still looking for his place. Then I'm done. I really enjoy this work . I got the speaker boxes from the later XK8’s into the area where the rear speakers of my 1997 convertible went. They come in two types, either with or without a separate tweeter as in the higher end stereo. I got the boxes on e-bay and they improve the sound somewhat with new Alpine speakers.

I was interested (at 26:52) that you used the handbrake. I've never noticed this before, despite watching pretty much all your XK8 videos over the years. I never use mine. Do you think there are any practical issues with not using it, such as a danger of it seizing up?
There is a real risk is that it will fail an MOT test due to being used only once a year. The car will not roll away without ithe handbrake due to the transmission lock. However parking on slopes without the handbrake puts extra strain on the pawl in the transmission, and in extreme circumstances can make it hard to get the car out of park. But as I say its not a big issue. Just ask 90% of Americans😁
The hidden REAL issue is that if you also drive manual cars, you break the habit of applying the handbrake before getting out of the car.
