    Hi Jonathan, it was the ONLY review on UA-cam which really guided me on the real steps of its installation in the car, adjustments and location of different buttons and straps. Event company literature which accompanied, was not so much detailed. Thanks for this great effort. 👏👏

    Hi Jonathan Peinado. This was a great review. Very thorough. Thank you! Would you be able to tell me which mirror that is (that you have installed on the headrest to see your infant). Do you recommend it or do you recommend another mirror? Thank you!

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      Hey Ian, thanks for watching! I purchased the mirror on amazon. it's a good mirror. it's worked well for us. it's fairly inexpensive, it gives a wide view, is adjustable, and locks in pretty well into the rear headrest. depending on how much clearance you have inside the car it may obstruct the view out the rear window.
      our boy is now big enough to be able to reach it and move it with his feet (he's 20 months old and we have him in the rear facing position), and so we have to readjust it every so often.
      you can find it at:

    Hey Jonathan, what size car do you have? You may have mentioned in the video, but I missed it. We have a Toyota Camry and want the Maxi Cosi 3 in 1, but want to make sure it fits correctly.

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому +1

      Hey EG, we have a Toyota Corolla, and with the car seat in the rear facing position, its definitely a tight fit, there's not much room for passengers in the back seat, nor is there much room to recline the front seats or slide them back to give more leg room (though once the car seat is in a forward facing position, it'll relieve most of those issues).
      The Toyota Camry is a bigger vehicle so I'm sure there will be more space in your vehicle, and I'm sure it'll fit correctly.
      Convertible car seats are big and bulky and I guess that's why many parents ditch their sedans and upgrade to SUV's or mini-vans! I'm really tempted to go that route, but not just yet.
      If you choose to place the car seat by the door, you'll definitely have more space in the back seat for passengers. We've decided to be extra cautious and have placed the car seat in the middle of the backseat, but that does take space away from rear seat passengers.

    Hey awesome video! What vehicle is this installed in at the 11:28 mark? I'm worried about the pria max 3-1 being too large?? That's what I hear is that it is a VERY big convertible car seat..

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  3 роки тому +1

      the vehicle is a 2010 toyota corolla LE. i guess most convertible car seats tend to be on the bigger size. the challenge with the pria being in the rear-facing position is that it limits your ability to adjust the front driver and passenger side seats in a backward leaning position or, if you're tall enough, simply in a position where you have enough leg space in the front.
      if the seat is in the forward facing position, then there's no problem with leaning the front seats back.

    Clek and Nuna will always be my fave carseat brands. Great review in this MCosi 👌.
    Mine have worn in certain areas that my other brand carseat never have so it makes me not want to ever buy this brand again.

      After using this seat for the last 3 years, it's torn and ripped in a few places. So I'm not sure this is the most durable of car seat fabrics and materials.

    Is this a no rethread harness?! We went to Buy Buy Baby earlier today and I thought that I would have to thread it because I couldn't figure out the grey button.

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Mariah, yes, this is a no rethread harness. What you have to do however, before raising the seat back (i.e., by pushing the gray button and lifting) is to loosen the shoulder straps by pushing the release button on the bottom of the seat. Hope that helps!

    We also had the chicco seat and just upgraded to the maxi cosi pria 3 in 1 in blackened pearl color. My question is... for forward facing... do you just put the seatbelt behind? And can you still use the harness buckles.

    • @JirmaVerse

      hi heidi, thank you for watching and commenting!
      sorry i didn't get back to you sooner, i just saw the notification for the message.
      as far as forward facing, i'm still using the lower latch system anchors, and i'm also using the center tether strap that anchors up or behind the car seat (depends on your vehicle. in mine, the center tether strap attaches to an anchor above and behind the car seat, in vehicles with a third row of seats [SUV's, Mini-vans] i believe you have to go up and over the back of the car seat and then the anchor is half way down/behind the seat...)
      i'm not using the seatbelt to secure the seat, because i feel that using the lower latch system along with the center tether strap is sufficient.
      if you have any questions, let me know!

    Have this car seat. It is a great seat. Great review!!!
    I do have a question. The first few times I spot cleaned because it wasn’t that dirty. However I had to take everything off this time to wash. And I cannot figure out how to put things back together. 😭 mainly the shoulder strap cover. Also cannot find any help with figuring it out. Have you washed yours yet?

    Hi Jonathan!
    Thank you for your video! Just a question, I saw that you purchase the Maxi Cosi Pria 3 in 1 for 190$ wow! Such a great deal! Where can I get that 20% coupon?
    Thank you very much!

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      Hey Aranzazu, the 20% off coupon is a regular coupon that Buy Buy Baby offers. If you click on the following link, it should take you to the email sign-up and they'll send you the 20% off coupon.
      www.buybuybaby.com/store/couponWallet/walletRegistration
      I think at the time that we purchased the Maxi-Cosi Pria 3 in 1 car seat, Buy Buy Baby had them on sale for $130, and then we added the 20% off coupon to that and so it came out to $190. But I'm not sure if they still have that sale price or not. We purchased our car seat in August of 2019.
      Also, Buy Buy Baby accepts Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons, and I think the 20% off coupon is also pretty standard for them as well. We get them sent to our house via USPS to our house all the time.

    How long are you able to keep your child rear facing? And I have a Jeep cherokee. Do you think it would fit with enough room for comfort for front passenger?

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  3 роки тому +1

      hi impressionable marie!
      the rear-facing position is good for children up to 40 lbs. but the truth is, it all depends on the leg room. our son is 26 lbs, and we're already thinking about turning the car seat into the forward facing position because his legs are crammed up against the back of the seat.
      a jeep cherokee should have more than enough space for this car seat.

    Backless boosters can be as cheap as $10, so it's not necessarily a worthwhile feature if it's a deciding factor. It doesn't last as long height-wise as Graco, so you'll have to keep an eye on that!

    Now that you've owned this car seat for a while, do you still recommend this car seat? Has it held up?

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Judy S! Thanks for watching the review! I'm glad you asked! The short answer is, yes I still recommend it, if you can get a good deal on it, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. And, it has held up quite well, the clothe material that is. Because everything else on the seat is plastic or metal and doesn't wear.
      The long answer is. I still like it. This car seat is probably on the pricey side, especially if there are no discounts. We got a good deal on it, but I think coupons and offers come and go.
      One point I would like to add is that when I took off the seat covers to wash it, underneath it's just a bunch of plastic with foam around the head. In other words, there was nothing impressive about it underneath the seat covers. It looked just like any other convertible car seat out there on the market.
      So I guess, if you decide to purchase this one, it should probably be just for the aesthetics of it. I know that Maxi-Cosi market's their products as being super comfortable, but when you take off the seat cover, there's just hard plastic underneath, and that's what the kids are sitting on.
      I've heard that most every convertible car seat is safe. They may not all look "nice" or "pretty" but they'll get the job done of protecting the little ones in case of an accident.
      If I had to purchase another convertible car seat (which I will have to do in about a year's time), I'll probably look to buy the least expensive one available.
      Hope this helps!

    Is the forward facing recline all the way up or is it tilted back? I hate the recline on our go and grow and it looks like that same recline

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      Hey Hayden! Thanks for watching! Around the 6:18 min. mark in the video I show the different reclining positions. The seat is basically in the full upright position during the entire video except for that segment where i recline it.
      When i installed it in the backseat of our vehicle, its in the rear facing position and is reclined all the way to position 3 which is the furthest position it will recline. hope that helps!

      Jonathan Peinado thanks I like the maxi cosi but rn we have a grow and go and the brands are basically the same thing, but with ares it’s like super tilted back when ff and bulky, we’ve only installed it rear facing Bc kiddo isn’t two yet but as soon as we flip him (probably soon sadly bc he’s maxing it out 😢) I’m gonna have to get a new seat. But the recline on this looks dealable

    Its hard to tighten the latch so that it doesn't move. Is there an easier way to do it?

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      i'm not sure, i honestly don't remember how i latched it. i went ahead and tightened it once and have just left it. but yeah, those latches tend to be difficult to tighten. but maybe that's a good thing. maybe the reason its so hard to tighten is so that it won't loosen up easily. i know that you have to wiggle the strap around a bit and play with it some. if you hold the strap in certain positions, it becomes easier to tighten. and of course, i just try to tighten it as much as possible.

    Is it normal for the headrest move a few inches when pulled forward. The headrest is locked into place, but when I pull forward it moves.

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  3 роки тому

      hi @moysojoy! thanks for watching! i hadn't noticed anything, but i went out yesterday to see if the headrest moves forward, and it does, but just a little bit, nothing that would cause me any concern. i think it must be part of giving the mechanism a little bit of wiggle room.

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      hey vivki!
      thanks for watching!
      using the coupon on the seats must be a promotional thing with expiration dates.
      i know that when we purchased it (August 2019) they accepted the coupon.
      but you're right, i just checked it right now and it clearly says that they don't accept coupons for the model that i purchased.
      however, i found a newer color scheme and the restriction against coupons is not stated (of course the price of those seats are more expensive).
      it also looks like use of the coupon depends on the color of the seat. check this link out with a newer blue color and it also looks like they have a pink color (albeit out of stock online, though i'm sure you could have them find it in a local store and have them ship it to you).

      for the older color schemes it looks like they accept the coupon on the silver seat.

    Is the cover easily washable?

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому

      hey robert! thanks for taking the time to watch the review!
      honestly, we've never washed it yet (yikes!), but i do remember trying to take off the cover and it wasn't as easy to take off as i thought it would be. there were definitely areas where i struggled to pull it off such as corners and attaching around the back.
      but that's probably a good thing, since if it was super easy to take off, that would probably mean it would fit loose and every time you placed the child in the seat the fabric would be moving all around and underneath them.
      hope that helps!

    My wife and I purchased this exact car seat. But seeing as how it's going to replace our infant car seat that attaches to a stroller,
    we don't know what we are going to do about a stroller

    • @JirmaVerse
      @JirmaVerse  4 роки тому +1

      Hey David, thanks for sharing.
      I think you should still be able to use the stroller that attaches to the infant car seat. We also had a stroller that came with our Chicco travel system, and even though we're no longer using the infant car seat, we're still using the Chicco Viaro stroller that came with it, its the stroller we use the most.
      But we also have two other strollers, a Thule Urban Glide for exercising, and a Mountain Buggy Nano for traveling.

    I just switched from the Graco to the Maxi Cosi. Sitting on a Graco is like sitting on a hard plastic chair. Maxi Cosi is like sitting on a Lazy-Boy. The Graco cup holders require a crow bar to remove. Unlike the Graco, the bottom of the Maxi Cosi 5-point harness (the buckle between their legs) will not get shoved under a toddler’s butt as you put child in. This is a big deal. It is very hard to lift a 40lb toddler with one hand while you fish around blindly under your child’s butt for the buckle with your other hand… that is what bugs me the most about the Graco.

    When tightening the strap for rear facing it gets caught and will not tighten properly. Total garbage!
