Love this
The harness is impossible to tighten properly. My baby is 21lbs 14oz and I nor my husband can ever get the harness tight enough. I’ve seen many people complain about this online. Any suggestions?
We are so sorry to hear you are having issues getting a tight harness. Some tips that we have noticed help get a tight harness are; first make sure the harness by their legs is tight, then lower the chest clip, and you may want to remove the shoulder pad harness covers (sometimes these allow too much space and hinder a tight harness). Hopefully these help!
yes it is unbelievable hard to tighten it. and the design and quality seems not as expected as we thought.
Can this used for new borns also? Or we need to buy basket separately?
This car seat only works for
Rear Facing: 14-40 lbs
Forward Facing: 22-85 lbs, up to 52 inches
when can you take off the shoulder pads?
Also wondering this!
How do you prevent child from leaning forward when falling asleep? The seat is reclined at 3 and strap and buckle is tight?
at rear facing level 3 (under 22 lbs) are they essentially laying down on their back with legs up?
Essentially yes, that is for an infant under 1 normally!
Does the recline work with forward facing?
You can recline it in either position 1 or 2 for forward facing. You would do this before you install it.
Watch our video :"Setting up forward facing here: ua-cam.com/video/2MQXRibWW58/v-deo.html
Hello! I can't find the rule for level 2 recline needing to be 22lb in any literature/manual. Can you please point me to the source of this?
Ok i just saw where it says 22lbs. It’s right on the sticker on the back of the car seat. If says level 2 22-40lbs.
Is there a leg adjustment? My 19 month old is starting to have to pull his legs up a little since he doesn’t have room to fully extend his legs. We have it installed rear facing
Hello! Great question. There is no leg adjustment on this car seat. However, your child can put his legs anywhere he pleases and it will still be safer than if he were to be forward facing. A lot of kids put their legs criss cross, over the sides of the car seat, on the back of the seat. He will still be 5x safer left rear facing :)
We have the non max version. It dosnt have the insert but says from 14 pounds +. Does that mean no insert is needed at all?
Hey. How can I buy the inserts please? I am from Singapore
The insert comes with the car seat and additional ones can be purchased through their website but car seats vary from country so we are unable to ship outside of the US for car seats and strollers
Hi!
I've never used a carseat with a tether. Where does it go exactly? In one of your videos i noticed that you leave it loosened up over the passenger's head rest. Please explain where it should ve attached.
Thanks!
Tethers are located on the back of your car seat, and is ONLY for forward facing. (So if you have an infant car seat you wont have one since you only rear face with an infant car seat) Once you get into a convertible car seat you will still start in rear facing and then once your child is the correct weight, will turn them forward facing and that's when you will use the tether located on the back of the car seat. Each car's clip where you attach the tether is located differently. Some are on the back of the vehicles seat head rest, some the back of the seat, and some the floor, if you can't find where it attaches check your car's manual!
Before you install the car seat you loosen the tether and put it over your seat (what you saw in one of our videos) Then once the rest of the car seat is installed properly you attach the tether and tighten! Always Always install your car seat forward facing with a tether.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
Can I use the wedge if my baby is over 18 pounds because even if the headrest is at the lowest it goes the staps dont sit at or below shoulders with out the wedge.
Great question! Yes, you can use the wedge until your child has the proper fit in the seat. It is important to take the wedge out as soon as your child is tall enough to have the harness at the correct height. Let us know if you have any questions!
Where can I buy just the infant insert? My Pira 85 didn't come with one.
Hey! That is annoying! Sorry about that! The best and fastest way to get another insert is to contact Maxi-Cosi. They will be able to help you out a bit more than us!
Where is the level line on the side to make sure it's level with the ground?
Rica Bonin for this particular car seat, it has 3 level positions. Level 3 and 2 are for rear facing and level 2 and 1 are for forward facing. These levels are indicated on the bottom side of the car seat and you can see them all when it's fully reclined. Please see at 2:29. This is the level indicator for this car seat.
Sjones2323 this particular car seat does not have a bubble indicator.
Hello! How do you tighten the straps?
At Minute 1:16 we demonstrate how to loosen the straps, while we are loosening, there is the strap by the feet that goes in. In order to tighten the straps, all you need to do is pull that strap until snug against child.
When not installed, the chair seems to be not completely fixed to the base, specially at recline position 2. Is it normal?
Could you expound on this? It sounds like when the convertible seat is not installed in the car, the seat is a bit loose from the base, is that right?
@@TheBabyCubby Yes, exactly
@@estebanmorales9378 I'm so sorry about that! That could be a result of wear. How old is the car seat and how much have yo moved it from vehicle to vehicle?
@@TheBabyCubby Oh really?? Then I should ask for a replacement because the car seat is new. I thought it could be normal since when installed the car seat is well fixed. But when it is not installed in the car, the seat can be moved a bit up and down from the recline position 2 without pulling the recline handle
@@estebanmorales9378 Please email hello@babycubby.com and we can get you taken care of!
Any way in a back seat this can be installed rear facing in the middle seat on a sedan??
Depending on the size of your car, this should fit rear facing in the center position on the back seat. You do have 2 recline options to play with depending on the size of your child.
The Baby Cubby thanks for the reply, I ended up putting it behind the passenger and the center was a little raised and not as deep as side seats but again thanks.
How do you adjust the crotch belt??
First slide off the buckle cover pad. Then feed the buckle down through the lining of the car seatat the other end of the buckle with be a metal disc that secures the strap in the frame of the car seat. You will have to turn that disc sideways to be able to feed it out of its current slot, then feed it back into the next slot. Let us know if you still have questions!
The red release button on the crotch buckle is too hard to press for weak finger moms.
This installation didn’t go over belt clipping. Incomplete
Hi Edwin,
Just to clarify, did you mean that we didn't cover a seat belt installation or the car seat clip use?
We have 7 parts to installing this car seat which is why it may not have seemed complete.
Here is a link to installing the Maxi Cosi Pria 85 rear-facing with a seat belt, it covers how to install with a seatbelt as well as how to buckle the baby in.
ua-cam.com/video/4fi5CmXF3i0/v-deo.html
If this doesn't answer it, let us know what else we can clarify.
What im saying is that why do so many videos? Why not just do one versus watching 7 parts? Its very inconvenient.
Ok, gotcha! So the reason we split it into 7 parts was so that someone who was searching "latch installation for rear facing" wouldn't have to watch a 20 minute video in order to see a 3 minute clip on exactly what they were looking for to install.
Thank you for the feedback though, this was just one style we tried in order to make things easier for our viewers. We will take your comment into consideration though for our future videos and be sure to make it a little easier in that sense. Thanks for the feedback!
This is the most hardest to install product I have ever owned. Shame on this company for making such a complex product!
For safety, it is necessary to make it perfect.
