//Drifter approaches the portal. Saladin comes through the other side and bumps into him.
Drifter: Oh! Hey there, Valus.
Lord Saladin: Germaine. Or is it Dredgen Hope?
Drifter: Nah. You know it's Drifter these days. Has been for a long time.
//Drifter leans back on the railing behind him.
Lord Saladin: I was just speaking with the deputy commander - she's ready for you.
Drifter: How's she holdin' up?
Lord Saladin: Sloane is a soldier, and that role has given her purpose. Hope. But she has been through a great ordeal. Her own personal Dark Age.
Drifter: Yeah... that's a bad hand to be dealt. Maybe this [gestures to the drink in his hand] can wait. Unless you wanna tip one back? Talk about the bad ol' days?
Lord Saladin: [scoffs] What is that, motor oil? Battery acid?
Drifter: Mm, only one way to find out.
Lord Saladin: You and I are among the oldest of our kind. Centuries, we've orbited each other. Why now?
Drifter: Why not?
Lord Saladin: Maybe another time.
//Saladin transmats away.
Drifter: [chuckles] I think Caiatl's actually mellowed that old Wolf out a bit.
//Drifter transmats away.

Always fun to see two unexpected characters interact. I wonder how these would go:
- Ana and Crow (both Hunters that know their past lives)
- Elsie and Caiatl (both apocalypse survivors)
- Saladin and Ana (almost killed by Rasputin vs created Rasputin)

I don't think I've seen Eris and Osiris bounce off each other yet.
@@TheAsylumCat they’d have a lot to bond over. Both Lightless, both lost their ghosts, both had to turn to green Darkness powers to survive, both spent extended periods of time being trapped and tormented by the Hive, both had their gay Exo lovers die (although Osiris got his back)
@@TheAsylumCat Apparently they talk quite a bit but we haven't gotten a cutscene with them yet.
This was a not a combination or characters i wouldve expected to interact with each other but im down to see more
Its really fun to see these characters start to gain some familiarity with eachother. Drifter has so much personality/quirkiness, and finnally other characters are bouncing more off him. Him flirting/joking with Sloane and Saladin now joking about the weird shit he eats makes these hard-edged rough soldies types (Sloan, Saladin, Zavala) look a lot more like people with personalities.
Bungie's improved their conversations quite a bit here, characters with props and interacting with the environment is a nice touch

Not gonna mention Efrideet? Eh I’m sure she’ll get brought up eventually if they chat more, heck the first log between them even mentions his bar

This was nearly a year ago damn. Still at Wish at the cusp of final shape.
Aside the fact that drifter is a rat of a survivor through sol and the characters in it the dark age for both Saladin and drifter was a embarrassment to all guardians I know that every history need a dark secret that make us human i mean look at Clovis bray and Maya Sinderraj and Rasputin that was both an embarrassment just saying if we the dark age did not exist thing in destiny would be more shocking like the second risen of the first hunter was the one who found out that travel was actually meant to protecting the gardener instead of people seeing it more than a terraformer
