For extra context in the first women(not using name to be respectful) she got legit personal information DOXXED by the internet and probably felt extra self-pressure to apologize. This wasn’t just a random statement.

For the first person, I think apologizing for scaring or concerning folks is fine even without apologizing for having a mental health crisis. Folks shouldn't be expected to behave as everyone else but I know from my own experience I can still feel bad for worrying people. Granted that's not how the apology went down, and if the other comments are accurate there was pressure, but I think it could be okay to make a statement about things without it being from the perspective of shame or guilt
The celery girl could of been a genius and played it off as satire if she just kept guessing more and more incorrect vegetables. Like she could of said it a bok choi, then cucumber, and make her way til she says something out of left field like an apple
I mean, I agree that she didn’t do necessarily anything too bad, but if you’re storming off an airplane and then insinuated that airplane might crash and everyone die, I feel like you should apologize maybe not for the whole thing but at least that part that’s uncalled for and just a scary thing to say in that situation
She was very clearly experiencing psychosis. She fully believes there's something going on and you can hear/see her actual terror

i feel like stanz would never get canceled but instead it will come out that nathan and richelle just keep him completely isolated from the world and internet and just drip feed him old viral videos for content

Honestly the tortoise one never made me angry. It’s sad of course and while I guess it is her fault it died, she didn’t need to be bullied and forced to make an apology, she was misinformed and thought she was doing the right thing. But the internet will always try its hardest to hurt a woman.

The turtle one was egregiously reported as they often pointed out her error using images of sea turtles. What the girl did was foolish, but there are species of turtles that at least look somewhat similar to tortoises.

I will say, there is something to be said about the whole "this is america, we speak english" thing. I used to work at a mexican restaurant in alabama, and customers would come in speaking spanish, which is fine, I know some spanish. But, the amount of times that someone would get mad at me for not speaking enough spanish, or make fun of me, or straight up harass me is ridiculous. Like I get it, it's a mexican restaurant, but it's in a state where over 90% of the people speak english. Like, don't get an attitude with me for not speaking a language.
Imagine going to and italian restaurant and then getting pissed when the waiter doesn't speak italian. What the hell?

@@tiiadica not really. It's a fair argument as long as you aren't an ass about it. If I moved to japan, you bet your ass the locals would be annoyed if I didn't learn japanese, then harassed them for not speaking english.
Have you considered that even if a country, as a whole, has a norm of speaking some language, that that norm doesn't have to apply to everywhere uniformly within that country. A Mexican restaurant staffed by many Spanish speakers where the customer base also often speaking in Spanish seems like the kind of place where we can grant an exception since that's kind of cool. Sounds like you gotta up your duolingo game brother.
@@DrRocket8775 the issue was not them speaking spanish, but rather them getting upset that I didn't. And again I speak some spanish. I took probably 100+ orders in spanish. But the second I would say "sorry, I'm not sure what that means" I would get nasty looks and comments.
I’m a first gen Mexican and don’t speak it fluently. Idk why but Mexicans are very harsh on other mexicans who don’t speak Spanish. It’s like a disgrace and they will fully lecture a stranger’s kid for not knowing
They shouldn’t really be saying anything to you but if I went to a Mexican restaurant I kinda expect them not to know English right off the bat. There’s not too many first gen Italians anymore but still a lot of first gen Mexicans.
What she held up and shamed her husband for was indeed celery and yeah there have been a slew of women shaming their husbands for dumb things that they should not shame them for.
Some of them are aware and doing it comically for satire but lord there are some truly delusional ones out there.
...but technically it is bok choi because the word "bok choi" is the chinese word for generically ANY veggie. It only refers to a particular type of veggie to English speakers because the many other breeds of chinese veggies are extreamly rare in non-Aisian countries.
