Lord Miles was a big name at my university. I was never that close but we were in a group chat together with a bunch of us telling him how much of an idiot he was while he was being escorted by the British Embassy after the first time. The group chat since died so I haven't heard from him this recent one but glad to know he was indeed just captured and not killed. He was known to be a sociopath which helped him talk his way out of a lot of things, hence the lord title and the story of him tricking the Taliban into letting him go because he was Welsh instead of English. And of course the fact he's gone to Afghanistan 3 separate times and been captured twice.
Edit: just messaged him, he said "No man i didn’t pass through Birmingham on my way back so I wasn’t killed!" This man is truly built different
He's gone 5 times captured the 6th and went back a hour ago to open a gold mine
Sociopath is a rather extreme word to use to describe what seems to just be a goofball who loves being in highly dangerous situations.

@@megamonster1234 it's not just the Afghanistan stuff, his reputation as a sociopath came well before then. I personally haven't had any bad interactions with him so I can't say where they come from but hanging with the Taliban does fit the narrative.

I read an interview. He actually was not allowed to take the vaccine because he took part in clinical trials. So he actually did more to help the covid situation than most people since he was willing to be part of those.

Lord Miles has self-confessed extreme political views. I don't know why so many people ignore it when he doesn't hide it himself. Obviously he doesn't say "I am an extreme racist" but he has regularly winked and nudged whenever asked. That's why I think more politically mainstream youtubers like @Stanz need to be really careful about giving him friendly coverage like this for his stunts.

Lord Miles? Wait what in the fuck? Did he go back? I remember his story happening during the US leaving Afghanistan and he was just a random college student. I thought he was just a reddit or 4chan nerd who wanted to be a cool guy and ended up almost getting trapped in Afghanistan after the Taliban took back over. Genuinely didn't know he did youtube and it makes the original story kinda suck lmao. It was *MUCH* funnier when it was just stupidity and for internet clout.

i don't get it why westerners think that freedom fighters are heroes except when they have beards, those are treated like non humans.
None of that's true though. There isn't an overwhelmingly positive view of the IRA or Basque separatists. And the Taliban aren't freedom fighters their goal is quite explicitly to get rid of other people's freedom by imposing their religious beliefs as law.
