My husband and I moved in with my mom after my company downsized & paid her $400/ mo in rent for two years before we got back on our feet and purchased a house. My mom secretly saved that $ for us and put it towards our down payment. She’s the best mom ever.
It also saves you time and patience. You don't have to rush around trying to guess what you want to eat and grab something quick, scarf it down, before your lunch break is over. Your lunchtime will therefore actually be enjoyable.

Yes! My mom used to tell me : “Pride comes before the fall!” No matter what we have to survive and stay ahead as well as teach our kids the same! Split that room, take that bus, wash and rewear those clothes! It’s hard in a nation full of ads and temptation, trying to convince you that what you have isn’t good enough, but we have to put ourselves first. Instead of buying an $8 bottle of Dove body wash, get the 97 cent soap bar or make your own. Spender turned saver here, and I can say that frugality breeds creativity, content, peace of mind and gratitude. Wise words , girl ! Keep it up, you’ll make an excellent mother!

A lot of low income people people have the mentality of living day by day rather than living for the future. That’s where a lot of people get into trouble.
this what you are calling a low income in the USA could be medium income in Poland ,Mexico ,China ,Russia etc ...World is not just the USA and western countries . Whole of Latin America ,half of Europe ,Asia , Africa can only dream about 7,25 USD /hour . Thats a lot of money in Gdansk ,Poland where I live . 25 Polish Zloty per hour !!!!! But what im talking about . Poland is a country where cashier have higher salary than teacher in school ,but stupid socialist goverment only thinks about how to give more money to people who don't want to work !!!!!!!
I spent $25 on dinner, today. Dining out is probably my biggest expense after rent and my car payment. I think it's time to make my meals at home. Thanks for the video.
spot on! eating out and snacks totaled up to be the single highest charge on my bank statement. those $5 -$25 amounts don't seem too crazy in the moment, but can total to thousands during the month.
I’ve been cooking for myself for the past week and it’s nice not seeing my money leave my wallet every day🤩 It’s actually motivating! Edit: I’m single with no kids so grocery shopping for me it’s much less than eating out.🙏🏼
I’ve been saving $800 a month since I was 14! I’m 21 and still live with my dad. I make around $1,200 a month. I pay for my own food, phone, Internet and gas. In 4 years I’ll have over $100,000! Then I plan on buying a house outright with no mortgage! (Where I live land and houses are really cheap. I mean I was on Zillow the other day, and there was a 5 bed 3 bath house for $120,000!)
When I was 14, I worked a full time night shift job. It was $16 an hour because night shifts typically paid more. And now I make $25 an hour as a CNA &CMA
When you buy second hand clothing, find a rich area within a reasonable distance and buy from that store. Usually these stores have higher quality inventory. Very nice video!
Had an abusive mother, too. Very expensive hobby! All the money for therapists, can't do several jobs because of the depressions... yes, it is expensive to have abusive parents.
One of my students asked in a sarcastic manner when she found out I live with my parents and she was only nine as an adult. It’s been the trend lately due to a higher cost of living.
We can't change how our parents are, but there are other options. I was out of my parents' home by 17, but I shared a room with another girl. Not fun, but cheaper.
Another tip: Draw a calendar, and color code it based off how much money you spent that day. Green means no money spent. Yellow means less than $10. Orange is 11-30. Red is 30-50. And purple is $50+. It helped me see a pattern in my spending and helped me fix it. I also noticed all the money I was spending.
Thanks for mentioning paying "rent" to parents. I hate seeing advice where people save up like 90% of their income because they're living for free at home!! When I got my first job my paycheque mostly went back to my parents because we were POOR! This is the reality of life. Don't mooch off your parents.
except that she never actually mentions that SHE paid rent to her parents, and her written description below the video also didn't mention paying rent.
I pick up pennies I find on the ground. People often criticise me for doing it, saying "What are you doing!? Don't you know that a penny isn't even worth the energy you used to pick it up!?" as if it affected their lives on some way. But what they don't know is, when I pick one up, more often than not, there would be another penny or a dime or even a quarter that would have gone unnoticed. I put all the change I pick up in a jar, and at the end of a really good month, I end up with about $100. So go ahead and pick up pennies, you'd be surprised at how quickly it adds up!
My husband does that he’ll see like any coin and just be like well it adds up lol just from parking lots as well as change we find in the car etc we usually end up With about 60$ in change alittle over a month lol it’s something so small but makes a difference .
Me too at grocerys stores there is always loose change i dont care people looking its money every bit adds up i got me a ceramic piggy bank the big ones its getting heavy but its not for me though its my kids piggy bank
My great grandfather does this, and he would save it up all year and split it between the 5 great grandkids for Christmas. People don't see the value of saving change, but having those penny jars made a difference when money was tight for me.
justin snider I have 10grand put away in savings (took me 3 years) and I still feel broke , I try to thank god everyday for having that in case of an emergency but deep down I don’t feel like it’s enough
Well congratulations most people won’t ever have even 10k stashed like that, but for me I guess it felt really good because I had come from being a broke drug addict and when I had that first 10 grand saved I felt I had really turned things around in my life. But I’ll also say it never feels like enough even with multiple six figures saved I stll always feel like it’s not enough, I don’t know if that ever goes away maybe when you’ve got millions and millions but probably not it’s just human nature to always want what we don’t have. So like you I try to just appreciate what I’ve got and thank god for it.
justin snider I was an orphan at 13 mom and dad died of cancer. So I was raised by strict older siblings. I would get a B or C in school and they would tell me house much of a piece of ish I was. Maybe it comes from that never feeling like anything is enough. Also I also feel like that money I have put away can disappear at any minute and like with that fear daily :(
If you don't want to cook so often - cook in bulk, freeze in servings. If you can't cook - microwave food is still cheaper than restaurants. There are recipe pages online, too.

Sounds like you have a family. Hard to change a while group's eating habits. If you must you need to sit down and plan with your wife, meals and snacks, with snacks being the first to go. They are really expensive. Once a week, maybe. I love chocolates in the box, big box, but once a year, maybe, just cost too much. Cabbage is good and inexpensive and can be made into tasty food. I used to spend $150-200 a week at Shoprite, now I spend that a month, and I feel OK. yes, I have night when I get the snack itch bugging me, but I have found tea kills the urge, and then, I'm good to go. you'll work it out. Won't be easy but, you'll do what you need to do.
When I reviewed my finances that was my major one as well. I called it "death by $20". Lots of purchases under $20 that I could justify spending in the moment, but when I looked at it, it was hundreds of dollars a month.

If u h have credit cards just don't use them anymore start paying off the one that you owe less and once that's paid off use that payment to pay the next credit card always use cash put it in an envelope that's all you going to use that week once it's gone you can't spend anymore by yourself something once a month that you really love but it's at the thrift store or like Ross or Marshalls hope this helps

She is my family's personal broker and also a personal broker in many families I'm United States, she's a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in United states.
Simple . My personal experience & self rules 1》 keep your monthly housing costs UNDERR 20% of your monthly income. Aim for 10%. I promise it does exist. 2》 don't work over 40 hours week. Don't swap your ME time for more money. Every six months I move to a higher paying job (that pays at least 1.50 more). Now I work 36 hours in 3 days @ $18 hour & spend 3 days on my own business so I can stop working. 3》 with the right interview skills you can always score an additional raise @ the time of hire. Never accept the walk in / entry pay. 4》 Walk out on a boss who treats you like shit. Mid sentence ! You do not deserve that. 5》 Minimum wage plus $4 hour - that is the LEAST you'll ever accept. Jcpenny, best buy, bed bath & beyond ECT pay better than McDonald's. 6》 Call every frigging job in a 20 mile radius of you & ask their pay rate. Seriously - ive called 90 places one week & scored one job paying $5 hr more than everyone else. Google $17 hour entry pay in my city. Then 16. Then 15. Explore your options. 7》 No expierence. (Dont tell them) No problem. Fake it till ya make it. I've been hired then went home & googled what my new job even was haha. 8》 pay insurance & rent annually to save big bank. 9》 When signing a apartment lease ask for one month free per year signing. Prorated. State you hate the location , carpet - something, anything - ask for a month free, prorated. Get everuyhing in writing. Don't leave writing or lease in the leased home. 10》 Buying a car. Say you hate the color- ask for discount. Buying a car - pay all in cash & ask for 30-35 percent off the KBB value. -Take a car to the dealership mechanic. Pay $100 for a "full diagnosis" before buying any vehicle. - Gas cars last 150-210k miles. Desiel lasts 500k. - Drive slow & baby thy car. 11》 spending over $1000 on something in one year - spend just ONE hour googling " How to save $ on this "
I've had several cars that were over 350,000 miles - my teenage kids wrecked them. Now I'll never know just how many more miles I could have gotten out of them! As for apartments - I found the "dream" apartment, but after moving in, came home to find sandwich meat, tomato, mayo and bread on the counter - the maintenance guy was helping himself to my food and there was NO reason for him to even be in the apartment! When I complained, he started coming over DAILY and unscrewing the hinged lock on my gate so my pet got out. I had to move after six weeks of this.
THIS IS THE BEST ADVICE I FOUND !!!! YES. I second this. 👑. I don't ever want to work over 40 hours a week again, it makes my health struggle. I will be working sessonal jobs and specify I will only work up to 35 hours, and these jobs are also above $18/hr - the only ones I will accept lower offer free rent. Also, I am growing towards being self employed and one certification away from being able to do nutritional counselling from anywhere I am and I'll lower my bridge job hours down to 28 a week max !!
I had a high pay job which made me depressed, now I have a low paid job ... having peace of mind is the most important thing.. I’m find it easy to manage money so it’s not problem for me
The lock down during the pandemic taught me many things. one of them was I don’t miss going shopping, buying new clothes, and make up. I used to miss eating out but I really don’t want to right now because it could kill me so by staying home and just buying whatever I need I probably saved up as much money per month as when I was working. that includes commuting an hour to and from work. I used to think I would miss my high flying life but I really don’t. it’s amazing how satisfied you can be when you make up your mind to be.

A great way to save money is to stop paying for cable television. I use a Mohu Leaf antenna in my window for free over-the-air tv stations. Also, youtube is full of free public domain movies and tv shows.
Depending on where you live, you can get many free tv stations. I live in Niagara Falls and can get many stations from Buffalo and Toronto. Altogether I get about 20 different tv stations. Most are in hi-def!

*take notes* Thank you for the helpful tips. I try my best to keep electric low. I turn the heat on when needed or air during summer but it mostly stays off (lives in Atlanta). I've been with Virgin mobile prepaid phone with the same number since 5th grade I'm now 25 and only pay $30 a month for unlimited talk, text, & data with an iPhone.
I've got unlimited talk and text prepaid with autopay through AT&T for a monthly *total* of $27.15. If I'm going out of town and will need data, I "buy a package" for $5.35 that lasts for a month. I forget how much data, but it works for me since I'm mostly near wifi...just buy how much you need.
I'm on social security due to multiple sclerosis. 840. A month after Bill's I don't have 500. So I began taking 10 percent out every month in a savings account.
I have blackout curtains in the bedroom and those paper blackout shades u can talk up over blinds. Keeps the apt warm in winter and cool in summer Really helps the electric bill.
Great savings tips!!! I recently did a savings challenge and saved $1300 a month by cutting down monthly bills and "frivolous" spending. Keep up the good work.
Sometimes the clothing in 2nd hand stores is more expensive than buying new. Plus, if they don't have your size or anything that you like, it's a waste of money to get there. Passive solar heat can do a good job of heating a home if you have south facing windows. And, wearing a vest can help keep you warm without hampering your mobility. Either hang your laundry outside, or use a drying rack inside. Buy meat when it's on sale. Also, instead of buying cut up chicken, beef cubes, etc, buy a whole chicken and cut it up. Buy London broil or roasts on sale and cut them up.
You actually don't get sick as often if you keep the heat lower in winter, strange to say. You develop a tolerance for colder temperatures in general, and you burn more calories, which is awesome. One way I keep warm at night is to heat up one of those rice packs in the microwave and put it at the small of my back in bed. I stay really cosy all night, and it costs practically nothing!
she wants an excuse not to be vegitarian anymore. But it's not like anyone even cares! we just know that nobody MUST consume meat in order to maintain their iron levels at a healthy place.
I'm don't care much about diet to be honest. I'm not a picky eater and can eat anything. I maintain my weight by limiting my portions. My reason for eating vegetarian back then was to keep my weekly grocery budget under $30. I don't understand nutrition as much as you do Bobbi, so I ate to fill my stomach, not to necessarily looking at how it affected my health. When I had trouble walking up a flight of stairs or felt like fainting after five minutes of walking and my blood test showed my iron was dangerously low... I stopped and decided to eat red meat once a week. Not a big deal. Let's not judge why people eat what they eat.

My tip is to always save first. Don't wait to see what is left over at the end of the month. It's better to over save and at the end of the month if you're short for an expense, pay that expense out of savings. It's also harder to justify that spurge if you are taking it out of savings.
When I was blessed twice in my life to live on my own I didn’t buy internet or cable. I used the library and I love the radio. I also had a communal bathroom and a small bedroom so I saved a lot.
Oh my gosh, me too. My first two years of living by myself in a shoe box apartment... best years of my life... I didn’t have washer/dryer hookups, so I went to the laundromat every Sunday. Life was so simple.
It's definitely an American concept. The stats on this video show that most people stop watching the moment I say to move back in with your parents, but yeah no shame in Asian culture to do this!
I'm Australian & it seems that most of us move out of home by a certain age for freedom & privacy. I moved back home when I was 27 as I had no choice. I also moved in with my partners parents to save money & we had 0 privacy which was very annoying. It's not for everyone.

Thank you for a realistic video on saving money on a low income! I've had a straight talk plan for 4 years and refuse to go back to contract phones! I love knowing how much my bill will be each month. Also packing a lunch for work saves me roughly $120/ every 2 weeks. I also use public transit and it takes less than 30 minutes for me to get to work. Also now that it's nice out I've been walking home from where I transfer buses. I make $13.67/hour in Milwaukee, WI.
Thanks! I'm working to control my impulse spending however, my boyfriend and I seem to have just about everything else right. We seldom go out to eat and cook a large batch meal for dinners during the week. I don't like spending more than $30 on both of us on the rare occasions we go out but, we take turns paying. The only time we spend more than that is for a birthday or anniversary, and we usually ask for restaurant gift cards for Christmas from my family which saves money when we do go out.

Screw paying 1400 monthly rent, now I pay less than 500 to stay at home. Now I'm saving about 70-80% of my income and I invest every penny. I'm trying to finish by 35 latest 38.
I live with my parents and I used to only pay them about $500 a month. They both work low wage jobs. I was saving up quite a bit till the rent and cost of food went up. They are asking for around $1500 a month now. I was thinking, if I'm gonna pay that much for rent then I might as well rent my own place. I bought my 10 year old Honda fit with 3 grand cash. $20 to fill up the tank, working a $13/hr job 40 hours a week. I've always been extremely frugal thanks to my parents' strict upbringings (both grew up poor, mom one of eight kids and my dad's one of five) and following tips like the ones you've mentioned for the past couple years helped me save up enough to pay for school debt free and even go up to NYC (I'm from Atlanta) and vacation in Manhattan for a week for Spring Break this past year. I turn 21 in February and currently have just over nine grand in my account (just paid off my tuition for the upcoming semester). I love how you mentioned that having the smallest room would help you buy less stuff. That is why I chose to stay in it when I started earning twice of what I was making. It is not even 25% of my income. When it comes to not wanting roommates, I can totally understand it. My partner and I have been having trouble because the other person would never clean and it was very stressful for us. So in that case, you gotta choose: either live with another person to save money or sacrifice money to have peace in that sense. Moving to a cheaper area might be an option for some if transport is not gonna cost you an arm and a leg. Here we have a job ticket and we pay 40-75 Euros/month and you can travel withing 50 km(?). But yes, a commute that is longer than 20 minutes by bike is too much for me. Not wasting water, heating properly and all that is something we do too. I cringe when people leave the tap running while brushing their teeth. Or when they flush the toilet and altho the pee is gone, water keeps running and running. Stop that! Even if it is just 10 Euros/month that you can save, fuck yeah! When it comes to food, we are vegan and eat mostly staples. Once in a while we buy fancy plant meats and processed stuff but two people eat for about 200/month (fancy stuff included). If you have trouble with iron, eat iron packed vegetables and add vitamin C. My anemia is gone since I changed the diet. Yay to second hand stuff! I try to avoid buying stuff unless necessary but if I do need it or reaaaaaaally want it (I wait weeks, and if after that time I am still really „obsessed“ with the thing, I‘ll get it), then I will get it used. With this I save up about 800 Euros/month. Cool video 😊

There are so many great ideas to save money, but also great ideas for side hustles to increase our incomes as well! My favorite is to go out less and start something you're passionate about! 😀
RealLife Money - Weekly Financial Videos This!! 🙌 I’ve decreased my budget as much as I can and still not satisfied with the “gap.” That’s why I am increasing my income and the best part about side hustles... there’s no limit to the amount of money you can make as opposed to a set wage with an employer! #hustlelife
You give pretty good tips. I pay 325.00 for a corner lot by living in a small town with low taxes and agreeing to fix up the house by no more than $1,000 a year or less. I spent $700.00 this year on the rental home I live in. I drive a 10 year old Ford Focus that is paid for. I like air conditioning in my home because I control which rooms get cooled and heated. I usually thrift buy clothes or Wal-Mart. Chicken leg quarters are cheap for meat as well as canned Tuna and pork. Veggies are cheap of course and frozen veggies too. I love doing things at home: walking my dog. Going to the park. Attending book clubs.
I’m going on a “financial video tips”spree! Keeping me in my zone. Been saving for 2 years. Trying to get even bigger in my savings. And making a game plan.
You can’t understand why people would pay more for privacy because you aren’t an introvert. Living with other people could affect your mental health if you are someone that need your own space.
Ok then find cheapest studio type if you want privacy .then buy only needs forget about your wants or minimize it.dont buy car .if no transportation in your city ..buy a bike..
I have an entire house to myself and I love it. Believe me, it is peace of mind and literally gold, and no I don't live in a rich area either, and will never be able to, although I have worked my entire life. Ms. ,L. Churchill
I am much older than you are. I remember those low paying jobs after high school and beyond for a few years until I prepared for a profession (nursing). Young adults are so vulnerable to unethical work and salary practices and I was too. The unfair treatment of employees by the unethical boss is always a possibility at any age I think, and I think thank God for Unions. you're so wise and this is great for all ages because we are never really free from unfair labor practices in any job setting. Saving and being frugal even with low income is sooooo smart. I'm retired now, and I think your advice is important for my stage of life too. We always will find security, peace and freedom with a good amount of emergency savings!
Glad I'm living in Norway. I work in a grocery store and get 205,77 NOK an hour. That's almost 24 US dollars. Keep in mind the dollar is strong at the moment. Of Course you'll get more when you work evenings and on saturdays. You get paid when you're sick. You get 5 weeks paid vacation. You get paid when you need to visit a doctor. You get paid when you're moving to a new apartment/house (moving day). You get paid when your child is sick. The list goes on and on.
You have many benefits that most grocery store cashiers and clerks could only dream of. I worked at two grocery stores (one was unionized too) and never got anything like that.
LOL. I make 8.50. no sick pay no vacation, of course, all cashiers are PT. The benefit I get is that they let me tell them when I'm available each semester and don't threaten to fire me because I only work weekends.
My husband and I moved in with my mom after my company downsized & paid her $400/ mo in rent for two years before we got back on our feet and purchased a house. My mom secretly saved that $ for us and put it towards our down payment. She’s the best mom ever.

Split that room, take that bus, wash and rewear those clothes! It’s hard in a nation full of ads and temptation, trying to convince you that what you have isn’t good enough, but we have to put ourselves first.
Amazing!!!
How in the world did you get that much money at 14? Seriously, where I live $1,200 a month is more than $13 an hour working part-time, after tax.

Totally in a college town the college staff ladies often put out high quality clothes to thrift stores as tehy dress really well.
I love buying second hand! I also have a capsule wardrobe which helps to stop me buying clothing when I don't need it.

''there's absolutely no shame moving back in with your parents'' easier said than done from non-abusive households.
Had an abusive mother, too. Very expensive hobby! All the money for therapists, can't do several jobs because of the depressions... yes, it is expensive to have abusive parents.
Or if your parents are dead
I also noticed all the money I was spending.
that's a fantastic tip. first time Ive ever heard of it
That is my goal... $10,000 savings in 2 years. I found out I was throwing away hundreds of dollars in food.

Tye B so true I have to give some money to my mama, it’s a bill
I pick up pennies I find on the ground. People often criticise me for doing it, saying "What are you doing!? Don't you know that a penny isn't even worth the energy you used to pick it up!?" as if it affected their lives on some way. But what they don't know is, when I pick one up, more often than not, there would be another penny or a dime or even a quarter that would have gone unnoticed. I put all the change I pick up in a jar, and at the end of a really good month, I end up with about $100. So go ahead and pick up pennies, you'd be surprised at how quickly it adds up!
Yes, I do that too! I love when I find dimes, nickles, and quarters 😁
My husband does that he’ll see like any coin and just be like well it adds up lol just from parking lots as well as change we find in the car etc we usually end up
With about 60$ in change alittle over a month lol it’s something so small but makes a difference .
Me too at grocerys stores there is always loose change i dont care people looking its money every bit adds up i got me a ceramic piggy bank the big ones its getting heavy but its not for me though its my kids piggy bank
Too bad I don’t go outside
My great grandfather does this, and he would save it up all year and split it between the 5 great grandkids for Christmas. People don't see the value of saving change, but having those penny jars made a difference when money was tight for me.
Not gonna lie that first 10 grand saved in the bank feels so good!
justin snider I have 10grand put away in savings (took me 3 years) and I still feel broke , I try to thank god everyday for having that in case of an emergency but deep down I don’t feel like it’s enough
Also I also feel like that money I have put away can disappear at any minute and like with that fear daily :(
justin snider inspiring af dude, keep up the great work on your path to financial security

1》 keep your monthly housing costs UNDERR 20% of your monthly income.
11》 spending over $1000 on something in one year - spend just ONE hour googling " How to save $ on this "
Thanks. What jobs you were hired for without any experience ? That sounds like an interesting story! Lol

That is a great idea. I don't think many people use antenna anymore but it's a good alternative for people who want cable just to watch the news.
Depending on where you live, you can get many free tv stations. I live in Niagara Falls and can get many stations from Buffalo and Toronto. Altogether I get about 20 different tv stations. Most are in hi-def!
For transportation I use the train. I pay for a weekly pass. Also, I'm vegan. You don't have to have to eat meat for iron. You could have researched plant based foods rich in iron. I like lentils
I used an antenna at some point. The cheapest one. 56 channels!
@@AnnieMargaritaYang In San Francisco I get about about 40 stations, some are HD. We just watched a Warriors NBA first playoff game in HD via antenna yesterday. About 50 miles away in the East Bay valley suburbs, you need cable.
Beans are a great source of iron and much cheaper too!
I just take pills. Cheaper than meat and animals love this trick!
@Freddy Fazbear My autistic son doesn't need pills. And he hates beans. :(
This is good advice even for wealthy people.
No one actually needs a new $900 Iphone every 2-3 years.
Save your money your old phone works just fine.
You can't sit there. an tell people what they need! Who tells you?
Dude my old phone fucking sucked I had to get a new one idk why people think this advice is for everyone can’t tell some one how to live life live your own and worry about your self

You go girl. I like the cheap phone plan.
Wow I pay $230+/- every month I need to do better.
Dang I need switch to virgin mobile. I pay $40 prepaid for unlimited two, text and data with simple mobile but it wouldn’t hurt to save $10
Nonhlanhla Dlamini My God that’s a lot for a cellphone.
I'm on social security due to multiple sclerosis. 840. A month after Bill's I don't have 500. So I began taking 10 percent out every month in a savings account.
I have blackout curtains in the bedroom and those paper blackout shades u can talk up over blinds. Keeps the apt warm in winter and cool in summer
Really helps the electric bill.
You’re very smart...I learned a lot from this video and now I planned to save$600 a month starting today.. thank you
I already saved $2600 the last 4 months after I watched your video.. thank you again

Excellent job!
You can get iron from legumes like lentils. Also blackstrap molasses, raisins, dates, cooking on a cast iron skillet.
I already eat lots of legumes. Genius idea on the cast iron skillet. I never thought of that. Thanks.
she wants an excuse not to be vegitarian anymore.
@@AnnieMargaritaYang I didn't assume or say it had anything to do with weight. I'm confused. at the end of the day I think happiness matters most so do what you want. of all the things to judge in never going to judge someone's diet. it's not that deep sis.
@@AnnieMargaritaYang Daddy said eat everything in moderation. Half a pound of meat and a pot of coffee a day is a serious candidate for constipation. Don't ask!
You can buy LED lightbulbs at the 99¢ store now. Super cheap
Annie you are amazing! You are a financial advisor and planner to the working class as well as a natural communicator! I don’t know if you have done it yet but if you haven’t, consider doing a segment about how to best use/invest the money you saved up! With perhaps, lessons learned or being learned. There is really a lot of wisdom and maturity in your video. I am sure you will prosper! I will also consider the Kindle version of your book. Good Job!

Girl your voice is perfect for this . I actually watched this full video 👏🏾
lmao "i worked shitty low wage jobs" love how upfront you are. So glad I found you. I live in NYC.
My tip is to always save first. Don't wait to see what is left over at the end of the month. It's better to over save and at the end of the month if you're short for an expense, pay that expense out of savings. It's also harder to justify that spurge if you are taking it out of savings.
Wow, this video really grounded me into thinking about the little things that’ll make a difference. All I need is patience
That's easy just DONT BUY ANYTHING outside of food rent and transportation if you ride your bike to work even better 😄 that'll teach them

When I was blessed twice in my life to live on my own I didn’t buy internet or cable. I used the library and I love the radio. I also had a communal bathroom and a small bedroom so I saved a lot.
I applaud you, Bilbo!!! Well done!!
Oh my gosh, me too. My first two years of living by myself in a shoe box apartment... best years of my life... I didn’t have washer/dryer hookups, so I went to the laundromat every Sunday. Life was so simple.
I don't understand this moving out after a certain age, in India we live with our parents for whole life💕
It's definitely an American concept.

I stayed with my mom n dad while I finished nursing school , while just having my twin girls.i saved a lot! So great full for my parents

What a sweetheart. My first two bosses were unbelievably abusive. I worked 80 hours a week to get away from them. It was worth it. She is such an optimist!! This is reality. I didn't think that life was still like this in places like NY or Boston!! When we were raising our kids we often rented a room in our house.. our daughter went to Harvard!! Thank you Harvard!
Great job! You live like me!
Great video! I’ve been lowering my expenses, increasing my investment ROI, and I’m living off my investments while saving 100% of my income! 😁👌

Housing is the biggest expense!! I'm 31 and have no regrets moving back with my parents soon after I left my last relationship. Screw paying 1400 monthly rent, now I pay less than 500 to stay at home.
Now I'm saving about 70-80% of my income and I invest every penny. I'm trying to finish by 35 latest 38.
Imagine if you had this mentality at 18 years old 😂
I live with my parents and I used to only pay them about $500 a month. They both work low wage jobs. I was saving up quite a bit till the rent and cost of food went up. They are asking for around $1500 a month now. I was thinking, if I'm gonna pay that much for rent then I might as well rent my own place. If I move out now, my parents would be short every month and they would ask me for money anyway -_-
I will do the same if i have that choice

Depends, your money situation may not afford to live without sharing. When I was single, I had 5 roommates at the same time. It was wild and fun! Years after, we have annual get togethers. On the other hand, you maybe in a rent control city and may have to go through a lengthy and expensive legal process to get rid of you roomate(s). Or move out and landlord/roomates go after you for breaking the lease or whatever. OK then, live alone.

Thanks. I sure hope I'll always remember where I began from and be grateful.
I didnt know a couple of these tips though, like the phone carrier thing (and here I've been paying $45/month for the past several years. Oh the money wasted!), but as soon as my contract's up I'll definitely look into prepaid! Thank you for all the advise in this video, it was so helpful! :)
Only 21? You have been doing a fantastic job :) Keep it up and don't let lifestyle creep get you.

Life feels a little less daunting
Thanks. I like your philosophy.

@CBD4Anxiety NoBuzz IKR!
