Top things to do at EVO:
1. Take a shower.
2. Play your bracket (optional).
Fun Fact: You can use Axe Body spray for up to a month without taking a shower. The best part is nobody can tell. They just think you smell great, and you know what? You do smell great, like axe body spray.
@@bumblescrump5752this comment is sponsored by Axe Body Spray.
3. Throw rocks (nefarious)
About 2) i would add *Be There Early* to Play your bracket! Ive heard stories where event mgrs were forced to wait 10-15 min to find ppl late arriving at tjeir appointed time. It delays that event's finish time, then delays the event following using their tables. Be considerate!
...oh yeah---and bring body spray.
@@bumblescrump5752 axe smells terrible
Last year I was there with my buddy and I watched him play his sfv bracket matches. His game 1 was against a dude who smelled like whatever the exact opposite of showered is, and I shit you not, was eating a big ass basket of greasy ass fried ass chicken, which he handed to a guy next to him when he sat down to play and wiped his hands off on his shirt, sending greasy crumby chicken flakes onto my buddy's fucking stick. The fumes were noxious, the chicken grease was dispersing, it was a bad time.
Don't be that guy. Somebody will make fun of you in the comments of next year's "sajam tells you bathing is mandatory at evo" video
Well, now you gotta tell us, did your buddy win at least???
But did he win tho?
But bro clutched up right
WE NEED TO KNOW IF HE WON
What a tech
First time going to Evo so excited
Have fun and good luck if you’re competing, gamer.
@@ZamirStills thanks gamer hope you have a good time too, unfortunately not competing but good luck to those competing
Have a nice time. Hopefully I can go next year
Same. Can’t wait. I’ll be tired since I’ll get to the hotel at 11pm/2am after a ten hour shift and a flight from Ohio. But I’m still so hype. It’ll be the first time being around fellow fighting game players.
Good luck 👍. What are you playing?
Get a face mask and some fragrance you wouldn’t mind smelling a lot. Spray the inside and now you hav sanctuary at a moments notice
General Vegas advice but if you insist on walking to the venue (especially if you’re staying at not the Mandalay Bay): everything is further away than you might think, especially if youre coming from an actually walkable town or city. (Edit: Just take the expensive Uber or deal with the expensive nightmare that will be parking at the convention center. If you’re not heat acclimated you WILL take damage.) But if you must, wear sunscreen, keep water on you, and look up advice on how to recognize heat exhaustion. Regardless of if you’ll be outside, buy an entire case of water bottles and stash them in your hotel room in the ice bucket.
Please anyone reading do everything possible to not walk outside
@@Bustah I’m putting that in as an edit. I’m from SoCal and forgot desert outdoors being a damage dealer isn’t common knowledge.
@@Bustah Thanks to climate change, this year more than any other is going to be pretty burning hot. I like walking outside and immediately being fried.
@@SteinerNein I feel that, born and raised in Vegas and this is the first year where I don’t think I can hang any longer lol
What if you're just at the Luxor?
Sajam going through the commentator to senior commentator experience
Welp that’s why they say never make your hobbies your job because eventually it all just becomes work. Just like he said he doesn’t get to experience it like a fan anymore, it’s not the same. Can only hope the $$$ is worth
Not only is this my 1st Evo, but this is my very 1st offline event and I'm really excited. Can't wait to see everyone there!
the mans literally made a whole video because he doesn't want to smell you again.
Wear deoderant. Don't be part of the problem. Don't let the Gamer Mist happen again.
misread as "war deoderant" and, know what, still fair
I'm scared to ask what the Gamer Mist is
As a local that lives in Las Vegas, I'm never gonna be the one to gatekeep food. If y'all want some bomb food I definitely recommend going off-strip. One great example is an area in Chinatown called Shanghai Plaza. Although it can get super busy and parking can be shit, the food is super worth it. Pepper Lunch is a great example, if you've never had it please do yourself a favor and try it. China Mama recently reopened in the plaza and has incredible Chinese food. If you can find the time to eat off the strip, please do! Feel free to reply if you need any recommendations!
My first time and by myself. Im terrified. Lets go
Trooper
Ditto.
You could easily apply basically everything he’s saying to going to Comic-con XD glad i got me some experience for when i plan to go next year
Should be applied to any public event in general. Never made sense to me how people actually want to stink and smell when going out. I'm trying to be fresh as possible at all times. For my sake and others
@@brettlewis2900 was mostly talking about the drinking lots of water, arriving early to anticipate huge crowds, and the drastic temp difference between inside and outside but yeah, wanting to smell nice and be clean should apply to every day and anywhere u go XD
This is my 1st time going to Evo and I'm definitely excited
Saw you give all this advice live yesterday and had to come back and thank you for it. Definitely looking forward to going to EVO for the first time. I decided to enter the Strive tournament, knowing full well I'll get destroyed but I think it'll be fun just to vibe and enjoy the experience. It'll be my first time ever competing in any fighting tournament, so it's all about the experience I feel.
Thanks for the advice! I'm super excited, it'll be my first time at Evo and first time in Vegas!
Thank you for your useful advise!
A thing a lot of people overlook... its not just showering. WEAR FRESH CLOTHES. Each day as you sweat into your clothes, it accumulates stink, that shit stacks. If you wash your ass each day, but then keep putting on the same rank ass clothes, you're effectively doing nothing.
Debuff: Stink III
Effect: -30 charisma, EVERYONE in an area around you lose their ability to focus, depending on proximity.
Super grateful for all the advice people are posting, I just wish y’all were sharing it more than two days before the event lol
Yall have fun at evo! Im gonna be enjoying the action at home, and to my fellow couch-watchers, hope evo is bangin'
First time EVO for me! I always wanted to go to EVO since high school. Very very excited.
Non-Evo attendee here. Still tapping the glass of my TV. (transportation portal will open anytime now)
I live in vegas, the heat is no joke guys definitely be prepared for it whenever you go out.
First time, going with a friend. Very Excited!
First time going for me too! Super excited been watching since like 2007
all i gotta say is i used to work food and i would frequently work 2-3 12+ hour shifts per week, it's pretty common in the service industry.
Also in Healthcare industry
people be like: LEARNING "going outside" COMBO (frame perfect imputs, 100 meter, works on all characters)
Good luck to everyone going to and playing at Evo, I'm going to Gencon and playing in a Digimon TCG regional, so wish me luck in that one lol
Someday I will finally go to EVO, but this year I'll be watching. Have fun those that are going!
Really can’t wait to go to evo! it’s my first event i’ve actually gone out of my way to go to. i know it wont disappoint!
First time going to EVO, hope I can met you there while you’re not busy
As a Vegas resident, I appreciate the first two minutes is just advice about visiting the strip. It's hot, dry and things are too far apart.
This is my 3rd EVO and the first time staying at the Mandalay. I always stayed a the Luxor before, and even though it's connected to the Mandalay Bay, man that walk to and from the room sucks. Staying in the Mandalay may still be a slight trek to the venue, but it's nothing like walking from the Luxor.
First time going to evo thanks for the advice
its a shame i wont be there to see the BBTAG reveal in person, but ill still enjoy it at home. safe travels everyone
I’ll be super tired going to evo. But man it’ll be fun to knock it off the bucket list and being around other fighting game players since there’s not really a local scene near me
god bless moste's thumbnail work
I hope one day il get to go to Evo 😢
Showing is a given. I most certainly need one rn 😢
A tendon pain in my finger that just manifested itself days before and it's making me more nervous than anything else. I wanna be able to game when I get there.
Probably gonna have to let that shit rest in the meantime, then
I don't mind Smash Bros isn't on lineup anymore, but thats makes more sense and extra safer from hygiene radiation too btw
First time in evo! I just wanna met my favorite players a take a lot of photos
Going to wait til Tekken 8 to have my first go, but to get a big headstart, would any of you explain how to go, how much cash is needed, where to apply, when to know to get seated somewhere good, etc?
Vegas being super hot was an issue last weekend too, the Final Fantasy 14 fanfest was there and everybody was complaining about how hot it was, and everything being so hot makes everything so much worse. A long walk's even worse in that heat, the sweat you work up is gonna make you stink even worse, and it's gonna make you dehydrated way faster.
We need to bring back The Stank Police
As a European, the heat at Las Vegas is unbearable. I literally decided to never leave Mandalay bay after 30 seconds waiting for the taxi outside the airport
I'm not at Mandalay Bay but I am staying at Excalibur and planned on walking or taking the tram, should I be looking to leave like even an hour or hour and a half earlier?
The biggest evo crowd ever, during the hottest summer ever. The RANKNESS is real
the things i've heard about comic con and evo, i can't imagine the STENCH bro.
Hoping you guys get some proper air conditioning and time for eating during the event
Really excited to watch the KI stuff
Im broke but gonna try to make it next year! Especially if tekken 8 comes out before evo
First time attending. Will be attending days 2 and 3 as a spectator. Do I need to worry much about early badge pickup on day 2? Can I play casuals even if I am not a tourney participant (I'll bring my own pad)?
I would be prepared to get your badge early just in case and you will be able to play loads of casual matches if you want.
Savage thumbnail
There will be versus city cabs with 3rd strike on them. If you want to see some real sweaty gamer moments go find those.
What time do I need to be in Mandalay Bay?
Sajam, how do I keep track of all my games? This is ny first tournament and I signed up for 3 games 😅
man despite living in vegas i couldn’t really afford an evo ticket, good luck with the heat everyone, its at least nice and warm at night
Welcome to Vegas yall. Stay outta trouble and don't get scammed
fgc loves getting scammed tho
Wish I could go :( Don't live in the US tho
Sajam i don't think you made it clear in the vid, should i shower before going or in the convention center?
Stands in the background and assumes they'll notice me XD
This is my first evo, im neevoisss
Remember: if you're tired, you can always sleep on a bench outside before your matches, helps you with recovery!
Stuff if evi champions
Shower

Thumbnail says it all lmao
Is there another sajam meet and greet?
Also, keep a tight grip on your badge... they can't reprint them on-site and you'll be stuck repaying ga.
Hi, this is my first time going to evo & i purchased the 3 day event pass for $199 & an additional specator badge for 3 days as well for another $199. Now is the additonal spectator badge for a friend? Or does the 3 day event pass not give me access to spectate? I want to take my friend with me to evo & i purchased both 3 day event pass & an additional spectator badge but we’re not competing I just want to spectate with my friend. In the additional spectator badge option it gave me an option to enter my friend’s name & his email address but he hasn’t gotten any notifications. Not sure if he needs to sign up or if we can pick up the badges at the registation desk. I spent $451 & I just wanna make sure if i purchased the right badges for myself & my friend or if I did the procedure right.
The $199 that you brought which is the 3 day event, is to spectate, plus the extra one you brought, is a spectator badge for your friend, which is the same.
I’ve done the same thing, so I’m in the same boat as you, plus I’m from the UK lol, so this is my first Evo. I hope this event becomes as good as the previous year, fingers crossed
@@dudepeep6429 Ohh thank you! I was shitting bricks thinking i did the procedure wrong and spent alot of money like an idiot. I appreciate it! Yeah Evo is gonna be hella lit!
That thumbnail 😂😂😂
So, the real question here: When are you going to be announced as DLC commentator for Street Fighter 6 in EVO.
Damn, he's good (yea i said it)
So Hobo Ken would be denied entry?
I went with my wife (then girlfriend) in 2018. Best choice I made was getting a hotel one town over. It was like a 5 minute drive on the freeway and I knew people who were somewhere on the strip and it took them like 25 minutes to cross the fucking street. Ubers were cheaper too on the night we actually decided to get wasted and gamble.
Not showering is tactical. The body odour distracts your opponent
Wash the water bottle after you get it. I swear the first swigs I could taste the plastic.
I'm from AZ so the heat won't be much of an issue
12-14 hour shift is normal in America
No it isn’t
Just because you know people that work that much, doesn’t change that the American normal is 8 hours
12-14hr gang rise up 😇😇😇
Not only are the distances greater than people might realise, there's a LOT of people running around EVO and the surrounding area AND it's hot as fuck and every footstep will shake your body if you're not hydrating the shit out of your body. SUNSCREEN, WATER, A CUTE PARASOL, sort yourselves out gamer.
First evo; anybody know if I can bring a backpack for Friday or Saturday? I know on Sunday I cannot bring one for the finals, but I'm worried I'm gonna have my controllers in my hand all day. He mentioned bags in the video but idk if there's like a size limit lol
Yes definitely bring a backpack for Friday and Saturday. Those are the days where you'll be walking around and very likely buying stuff too so make sure you bring something thats easy to carry so your hands are not full.
@@DMan_AA hes asking if security will stop him and say his bag is too big. And I don't know if there is a size limit.
If I can bring a normal backpack I should be fine. Thank you both!
Not sure how big your bag will be but I bring a duffle bag for my stick. They do a quick look at every bag at the security check point along with the usual "please empty your pockets into the bin", typically just "please open the bag" and a quick scan. So just don't bring anything you might be embarrassed by in your bag or pockets. I don't even recall them asking for me to open anything aside from the main compartment of my bag.
@@samuraijake8964 I've been to evo for 4 years and I've never seen anyone getting turned down for the type of bag they have. Theres no size limit as far as I know.
Don't open the fridge in your hotel room. Don't touch it. Don't even look at it unless you want to pay for it.
not going to evo and I won’t be showing!
How to win EVO: Wash butthole.
and balls
Smell yo chairs after you get up. If it funky, you didn't do a good job washin 😂
Conventournament
Braving the crowds of stinky's and sweaties is part of the tournament charm
You already know half the people aren’t gonna take a shower take febreeze
Take some pocket hand sanitizer, and maybe a little pack of tissues too. The EVO-itis is real.
But Sajam, I refuse to be the only guy at Evo who showers every day!
TOs should disqualify grimy players
Are they allowing minors in the venue this year? Hopefully not, remember what happened on the last EVOs before the Pandemic
Wow looks at this big streamer telling me 14 hrs work day is long. I'll have you know I work 30 hours in 1 day without a lunch break.
The fact that hygiene isn't common sense and needs to be reminded of is kinda sad.
Pass. I'll be safely enjoying all the perks of evo, and most comfortably by watching from home.
Umvc3 is all im interested in.
remember to drink water more.keep hyderate . its summer now.
it's quite sad how many dudes go to tourneys and locals, and are just rank musty...funky. you know they haven't showered in days...or they put clothes on that were on the floor in the corner for the past week...
please...wash
For the love of all that is holy.. Please shower. With soap! Wear deodorant!
I was gonna go but now i find out i need a clean ass? No thanks
With no Smash this year I wonder what all the talk of showers are for?
No stinky pedos this year.
really funny how you say that about smash when we're talking about evo. ever heard of a mr wizard? lmao
@@zachang8332 unfortunately.
Next year will be my first year
