Tips for your First EVO and Las Vegas Experience

- It’s EVO time this week and if it is your first time at EVO and in Las Vegas, then I have some tips for you to save some cash for money matches.
XSplit will be running the EVO side stage stream, so make sure to tune in for all the community championships and if you are at the event, stop by our panel with Spooky, Gootecks and Maximilian.

Thanks man this is my first EVO and it helped me out a lot.
I would recommend downloading the evo app they release every year. Its basically has all the tournament schedules, floor plans, panel schedules all in one place. Its a nice way to plan out your weekend so you dont miss your favorite games.
when I looked at the anime suite tweet the first thing that came to mind mind was saving private n0pants

Thanks for this. My first EVO. Definitely was checking the maps for cheap eats and whatnot! Also good to know about early arrivals to the hotel since, barring delays, I'm scheduled to get to mine early.

I don't know if I've just been lucky or not, but I've never had any problems with putting a fightstick in checked luggage. I put it inside a padded Qanba Guardian backpack, surround that backpack with folded clothes, and the suitcase itself is a hardshell. Yeah, TSA's gonna open it up and peek around, but they do that regardless of if there's a fightstick in there or not.
Look Bruh, I'm a ramp agent and we usually are slinging bags so we can get the plane out on time. you're taking a gamble quite a bit sometimes. most of the time you're fine. but that one time could be a killer.
So the evo tournament is in the hotel??
Question: this is my first EVO. I don’t plan on making it out of my pool, I’m just going for the experience and to have a blast. When I get knocked out can I still hang out in the tourney area to watch others? Or do I just have to wait till the main event?
yeah, you can hang out and watch pools as long as you like. You can either watch matches on the stream stage or just play at the casual setups around the venue. Most people spend their evening watching quarter and semi finals till top 8.
@@Offcast that’s awesome! I’m super nervous. I’m flying down from Alaska so it’s gonna be really weird. We have no locals here and our internet isn’t the best so it will be a new beast playing others with fast connection! My goal is to win one round (not match) and get one complimented. The. Just have fun for the rest of the time and play some casuals. :)
@@LAZERMAC87 Haha well everything is played on offline setups so it'll be a new experience.
Just aside from the venue there's always people all over the hotel playing casuals, just look for the evo badges and don't be afraid to say hello!
I met some of best friends at Evo, so it's a great experience.
