Ikr, I just remembered that it existed and went "wait where'd the crystal clear quality go?" And the read posted 14 years ago and went "ahhh that's where"
When I was in elementary school, I got a hand-me-down iPod shuffle from my mom’s boss’ son. With all his music. I had no idea what this song was about, but it was my favorite. My absolute favorite. I was head-banging to it on the school bus every morning. Still a banger.
Thanks man. Yes, it took a long time to make ^^ Right know I'm doing another vid about Anakins/Vaders story (well.. actually right now I'm eating a pizza... but you know what I mean)and I think it will come out way better than this one. I only got something between 1 or 2 minutes done out of almost 4, but I everytime I watch what I made so far I get totally goosepimpled ;) So, stay tuned. I hope I can finish it in the next couple of days....
I remember my father showing me this video in 2008. It took me years to find it afterwards because I had no idea what the song was or what it was a parody of. I also remember it saying it was be Weird Al even though Weird Al already parodied this song.
I only used scenes from Episode I, cause this is what the song is about: The "new" Obi in Phantom Menace. The song song came out right back when Episode I was released.
ha ha yeah, you have a point there, especially after, quote from Weird Al, "...And the Jedi i admire most met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast..." that happens
You mean the descriptions? There it says: '"not" by Weird Al Yankovic (as I recently found out)' So maybe that's why you found it by searching for Weird Al.
I can't be an Axis of Awesome song. They only performed between 2006-2018 and I remember downloading this song from Kazaa Lite in the early 2000s (mislabelled as Weird Al Yankovic as all parody songs in those days were). Also Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005. I am pretty sure this song was released either between 1999's Phantom Menance and 2002's Attack of the Clones. Or between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Pretty Fly for a White Guy came out in 1998 so I'm guessing this song came out in early 2002. That sounds about right compared to my memory. Which raises the question. If it wasn't Axis of Awesome then who wrote and performed this song?
Actually I think it came out in 1999 based because it references Phantom Menace story lines and was probably based on the leaked script. If it came out after TPM it would be more jaded. Also Pretty Fly for a White Guy would be a less relevant pop song.
That's true. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong. Infact, you are right. Just that the song was made to be humorous. Plus the fact that Ol' Obi-Wan is still an Apprentice at this point and he IS eager to move on. You can see it on his face :P
Actually, not referring to chronological order, according to the films, he did fight Darth Vader first in Episode 4: A New Hope before fighting Dart Maul in the 1999 movie release. Awesome video, sorry for being a nerd....
@Griffon83 No! No! Qui-Gon Jinn was quite Awesome! great hairstyle, very competent, as said in the movie he would've been shoo win for jedi council if he wasn't so individual, only reason he lost was his ataru style which uses a ton of space was constricted in that tiny space with darth maul who using a 2 bladed lightsaber could maneuver fast in quick in that area. I apologize but he's one of my faves, and I can't let him be burnt.
Oh and Tinklefilms I wasn't talking to you when I said that, just to the people who keep saying that it IS Weird Al. By the way, if people wanna know where to find it, it's really easy to get on limewire..just type "Pretty fly for a jedi" or "weird al" since it's incorrectly listed as being by him.
Well, that's the question, isn't it? I remember reading it was by The Offspring just like the original "Pretty Fly For A White Guy". But I have no idea if this is true. So if you find out who's the real author please tell me ;)
13 years later we still don't know who wrote and performed this song. Any one have any clues? According to Wikipedia, Weird Al Yankovic was going to write a parody named "Pretty Fly For A Jedi" but decided to be more timeless by writing Saga Begins which parodied the classic 1971 American Pie song by Don McLean.
Okay, why do people automatically assume a song (like this one) is by Weird Al Yankovic (which it usually isn't) (PS: note the lack of an h at the end of his last name; look at a CD people) just because it's a parody? There are other parody songwriters out there. Johnny Crass, John Valby (aka Dr. Dirty), and myself, just to name a few...
If Obi wanted to nail the queen.... THAT explains why he so willingly chopped off Ani's legs on Mustafar after finding out that he'd lost out to that little kid from the sand place.
Sorry people, do your homework...this song isn't by Weird Al. There are a LOT of songs that are listed as by Weird Al, and aren't. Look up Al's discography where all of his songs and albums are listed. You won't find this there. It isn't him.
there's no rule saying you HAD to use only ep 1 scenes.. you really should've used a shot of Vader for the "First there was Darth Vader" line. but otherwise, good video :)
UA-cam has put 3 spaces in the link, make sure to delete them all. If that still won't help, try www.alltheweb.com --> Audio --> and search for "pretty fly for a jedi". That's how I found it a couple of days ago. Good luck
I remember this video being way better quality in my childhood. Still, damn good song and vid I still return to from time to time. Great work here.

LMFAO
"He wants to nail Queen Amidala up in outerspace!"
Anakin's face... omg... xD
Because of Obi-wan?
He ain't the only one.
i liked the '' you know its pretty hard waiting for that day in May'' I would have loved to see this in theaters!
May 19th 1999.
The release of Episode I.
It's an old song ;)
Thanks man. Yes, it took a long time to make ^^

Just here getting hyped for Kenobi!
I remember my father showing me this video in 2008. It took me years to find it afterwards because I had no idea what the song was or what it was a parody of. I also remember it saying it was be Weird Al even though Weird Al already parodied this song.
I remember that! In that time, anything that was parodied was always branded as "Weird Al", be it true or not. :P
I only used scenes from Episode I, cause this is what the song is about: The "new" Obi in Phantom Menace. The song song came out right back when Episode I was released.
Thanks for keeping this online

It’s weird these videos used to seem crystal clear. Now they look so low quality. Really puts the passing of time in perspective a bit
that is awesome
n1 whoever made it
star wars rocks and this just put's the icing on the cake
ha ha yeah, you have a point there, especially after, quote from Weird Al, "...And the Jedi i admire most met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast..." that happens

the reason the timelines buggured is because 1-2-3 are prequils of 4-5-6 so yh some problems there but still quite simple to understand
Great.

This isn't Weird Al Yankovic. I think it's by Axis of Awesome

Yes, that's what I found out as well.
Seems like they made a parody of their own song.
Actually, not referring to chronological order, according to the films, he did fight Darth Vader first in Episode 4: A New Hope before fighting Dart Maul in the 1999 movie release. Awesome video, sorry for being a nerd....
INSANEEE!

I remember reading it was by The Offspring just like the original "Pretty Fly For A White Guy". But I have no idea if this is true.

Axis of Awesome, NOT Weird Al
I agree!
The original was by Offspring, I don' think this version was by them, but I'm not certain

It isn't him.
anyone else notice that when you look for lyrics for this song, the lyrics are horribly wrong?
Great video lol ;)
Obi-Wan show needed this whole 2 minutes as the show's intro,
there's no rule saying you HAD to use only ep 1 scenes.. you really should've used a shot of Vader for the "First there was Darth Vader" line. but otherwise, good video :)
