Not played since 2018 got just over 1,300 hours in CSGO and CS2 kinda makes me wanna get back in but man it feels so odd after not playing for the best part of 5 years.
I had about a 7 year break and its only super awkward the first weed then some of that muscle memory that is buried deep down starts coming out and you ramp up fast. It will probably take a month or two to get back to where you were 5 years ago. I say do it. I dont regret coming back for sure.
Been playing since 2015, managed to hit global with your tips and tricks back in the day, and I have so many great memories with csgo, it’s hard saying goodbye to it like this. I wish it was still playable like prior versions. I had 3,400 hours and over 1,500 wins, seeing the game just disappear like that today was sad to be honest.
yea man i just had a nice cup of coffee, today is actually thruday for me and i thought that all those wednesday leaks were fake (i was actually ready for the release on the wednesday for me) i thought it was all fake, and the game isnt even done yet, welp i open steam see 27 gigs of update and... i thougth to myself whenever i downloaded csgo for the first time (after i reset my pc like 3 months ago) it was 15 gigs, so this must be cs2 cause any update would ofc be smaller than 15 gigs and the library page still had the same old csgo poster i thought what is wrong? i went on the store page and saw cs2, i was happy and sad at the SAME time idfk how to express it??

@@MrMarttivainaa I once played in a GN4 match on Cache, it was awful, like hide and seek with guns. The other guys just ran about spamming walls,hardly ever pushed a site. In silver we push sites every round.

That's literally the whole game. And all because Valve didn't want to upgrade their servers to 128 tick, so they came up with this bulls#!t subtick system that mismatches what you see on screen from what the server actually registers as input. No thank you. 1.6 and Source also had 'small differences' and I stuck to 1.6 until CSGO came out, couldn't play Source whatsoever it was horrible. Now that isn't an option, because CSGO is gone. So what am I supposed to do? Go back to 1.6 until they fix CS2, *if* they fix it eventually? They never fixed Source so my hopes are not high. After 20+ years of CS I might just have to stop playing...

Subtick simply means that it can rewind time (for lag compensation) to the precise point at which you shot (presumably by interpolation), not just rounded to the nearest whole tick. What you see on your screen should match what happened on the server much more closely than before, so it's a good thing (as long as it's working correctly). Still downloading the update though so we'll say how it works in practice

Pretty sure taskbar is set to hide. When you get notifications (such as ur steam one,seen as red) the taskbar pops up and stays there until you check the notification. Try it out 😊
audio on linux is generally broken :( mic doesn't work at all, audio output works occasionally but otherwise it's silent, none of the fixes online are working
Played the entire day today, I can't wait for community servers and workshop maps again, already starting to miss surfing and aim training before I play.
Same thing, I had a break for half a year but today after playing an hour I'm as happy as a child on Halloween :D The most I've missed so far is the workshop and I have delays with the sound during jumping
When I got my first pc in 2004, I didn't have internet. I knew about CS and even played it occasionally against bots. But I felt it was not much fun because the bots either too easy, or too difficult. Fast forward to 2011 internet connection became much easier to get and a lot cheaper. I got hooked to CSO (Counter Strike Online), a mod of 1.6 developed by Nexon, because it was online, fun, free, and had a basic mode with reduced recoil and flashbang effect, a perfect game for me as a noob in CS. In 2014 bought CSGO, my very first purchase on Steam. But I didn't play it much because my pc had been broken since 2012 and I was using a laptop, and CSGO didn't run that well. Also CSO was still fun to play. In 2016 CSO started its downfall. Cheaters and unbalanced weapons drove away many of the player base. I stopped playing CSO completely. In 2019 CSO finally shutdown. I started to play CSGO quite regularly in 2016 with a new laptop that can run CSGO smoother that my previous one. But then in 2018 the nvidia chip of the laptop broke and the igpu of the cpu can't run CSGO smoothly. In 2020, just a month before the insane graphic card price increase, I built a new PC. After that, almost everyday I played CSGO. I've collected 1200+ hours in CSGO before it closed down. Earlier this year I've upgraded my PC with new motherboard, CPU, dan graphic card. I'm happy my pc can run CS2 smoothly without any problems

I've played CSGO since Release but played less and less over time until I completely stopped after 2400hrs around 2018/2019. Throughout all this time I felt hitreg in CSGO was off (regardless whether 64 or 128tick) which was the major factor that eventually frustrated me so much I quit. I tried valorant briefly, liked the hit-registration but basically everything else felt off (and I hated the hero-ability-stuff). So I played mostly singleplayer games (factorio and rimworld got the better half of me) and focussed on my actual carreer (I'm in my mid-30s by now). Yesterday I tried CS2, few rounds DM and Casual - and boy does it feel great. I hit where I aim! I feel it's actually worth to aim for the enemies head!!! Been loving cs 2 so far, only critique i have so far is it feels a bit less fair for people on higher pings. Would like to see what other people feel. Made it to supreme on 80 ping in csgo. Hopefully i can go far in this too

As a lefthanded player who STILL plays with the mouse on the right side but the viewmodel on the left side, it's really confusing to not have cl_righthand 0 in the game anymore. Valve pls fix.
I was setting up and some how got rid of my left mouse button and I can only move my cursor but can’t click anything to re set to defaults . Gonna try uninstall and re install

Please just realise the taskbar is on the OTHER COMPUTER so restarting the game on your main PC won't do anything. You need to click the taskbar and then the OBS window ON THE OTHER COMPUTER. Windows sometimes just gives focus to the taskbar for whatever reason.
Word on the street is that he's indefinitely stepping away from CS:GO for his mental health. He was addicted and is not trying to relapse with CS2. He's getting his life back together. He's a grown ass man with a job and a family.
The sound thing was hilarious. The setting was right there in the settings menu and you refuse to use eyeballs and actually read your chat lmao made me think the stream was pre-recorded.

Setting the audio output manually instead of default worked flawlessly for me. Mic worked ootb, as far as I can tell.

AWPing and spraying feels very strange. Tap firing and first bullet feels better than ever. Movement is slightly off.
The first shot feel is so clean still not used to the spraying and some of the dust effects

Word on the street is that he's indefinitely stepping away from CS:GO for his mental health. He was addicted and is not trying to relapse with CS2. He's getting his life back together. He's a grown ass man with a job and a family.

I like the look of CS2 but the player movement just doesn’t have the same feel as CS:GO.

The sound thing was hilarious. The setting was right there in the settings menu and you refuse to use eyeballs and actually read your chat lmao made me think the stream was pre-recorded.
