"Thanks for teaching me the game 8 years ago"
I hope you realize how many people you helped and inspired over the years
You inspired me on the "soloq to X" grind mentality. All of my current ranks across CSGO, PUBG, Valorant, Apex Legends, etc were done soloq.
Congrats on getting the soloq to level 10!

  • @gamingmarcus
    @gamingmarcus 2 роки тому +1

What a great accomplishment after all these years. I don't normally write long comments but here it goes.
I've started playing CSGO just before finishing school. I had put serious hours into several games before that (including CoD) and I always felt that tickle, the desire to compete. I didn't know anything about cs going into this but I knew that the counterstrike franchise had been at the top for literal decades, and I wanted to start it off right. So I learned about the game, watched all your videos and tutorials. And they helped me massively in many aspects of life.
Having a good mindset is not just important for playing good Counterstrike. Embracing challenges even if they seem impossible. Keeping your eyes on the goal, even if the grind gets hard. And even if you fail, focus on what you've learned in the process.
When times got tough in university these virtues helped me keep it together. I even ended up learning Japanese and living there for a year. Just because I wanted to prove myself that I can. And it is exactly as you say. It's not the accomplishment that's fulfilling, it's the pursuit. Having a big goal to push towards can unlock a previously unfathomable potential within you.
And now, going into my PhD the goal is bigger than ever. To expand the boundaries of human knowledge. And every day feels exactly right. It won't be easy but I know I'm ready.
Thank you for all the years of entertainment and life lessons Mr. "Stop, Scope, Flick, Fire" (yeah I saw that comment 😀)
I think it's time to restart my own grind to lvl 10.

"... having fun while playing shows your best performance."
    I totally agree.
I was doing bad at my games, like too much thinking, unfocused gameplay, too many extra's and was losing in a RAPID level. In the last 3 days though, I haven't lost a match yet.And also had the most fun.
It really is when you perform best, the fun you had is the most.

Great job, my highest achievements are DMG in MM and level 4 in face it :D not great, but that's the best I had as a solo q player too. Now I fell to level 3 face it and MG at MM and it seems like I have reached my bests. Still, I am happy that you do it. Keep up the videos

I think you are the only person over the internet who talks about healthy competitive mindset. About using challenges for self-improvement.
I do not play csgo, but i watch every video.

It's 100% true that champions, as one of the skills required to reach that level, can deal with high stakes without letting nerves reach the point of physical anxiety. Like any other skill, it can fade without practice, but it can also be learned. Peak performance is definitely achieved when you're having fun, but it can be reached under many emotions. The real key is being able to crank up the focus on command.

-What do you do for a living?
-Oh i play counter strike for a living actually.
-Can you do it at a decent level?
-Challenge accepted!!!! God i hope so.
I just find it a funnt premise to the video x)

What WarOwl said about just having fun with the game instead of putting pressure on yourself to do well can be applied to other games too. I've been playing a lot of Dirt Rally 2.0 recently and I realised I make mistakes when I'm focused on chasing and beating stage times. I turned off the HUD elements that show your time difference when running a stage and I get much better results when I'm focused purely on the driving and not thinking about beating times.

Those blank canvases on the wall were such a brilliant idea. I still remember seeing that first canvas come down and the new one going up. It was an amazing feeling, realising what was happening. Such drama. Such achievement. Immaculate.
