You’re off to a good start so I’ll be joining your adventures. I expect that in my 70’s I can still enjoy learning. Curly tail on my shopping list tomorrow.
It's hard to beat a good day of creek/little river fishing for whatever bites! Congratulations on the PB smallie and all the different types of species's you caught was pretty cool!
Yessir! I have been smashing fish with 1/8 oz road runner and 2 inch white grub for more than 30 years, same setup. Its my go too if fish wont bite or if i just want to not waste time casting, get straight to catching. Nice job kid.
@Tedubbley Thanks Ted That's interesting, cause everyone on here says they're catching everything on those things same with me.I'll try something that everyone says is good. Then I catch nothing on them lol
I switched to this setup and have been catching fish like crazy!! I’ve been using all types of others lures prior and never had luck for months. Moment I casted out with the curly tail jig I was slaying the pond. Just wanted to come back and say Thankyou!!
Dude I just gotta say, you are an inspiration for me! I’m 18 and up to now my recreation has just been video games in my basement. But a friend recently took me fishing and I’ve loved fishing ever since. I got my own tackle box! Rod, line, baits and lures, and just last weekend I finally caught my first fish ever! And watching your videos, seeing another young person with a fishing hobby just brightens my day ❤
Looks like a lot of fun. I am an old guy, I am starting to get into fishing a bit more seriously. I mean I don't take it serious but basically trying to be better. It is so much fun and relaxing/tense. Cheers to you.
I recently got some little Senko type worms, Bass Pro brand, that would be awesome in that creek. You could put them on a Ned rig head, Texas rig them, wacky rig them or drop shot them. I grew up fishin' on the beach and bays in Florida and bigger curly tail grubs are a classic lure for lots of fish. We use lots of 3 to 4 inch grubs with 1/8 or 1/4 oz heads. And of course there are a bazillion different tails you can put on jig heads. You might enjoy Z Man tails, they're the toughest and they float without weight, so they sink slower. They have creature baits and Ned rigs that would rule that creek. Cool video.
White is a really good color in shallower water but weirdly in deep water it loses it's color especially in stained water so in deeper water darker colors like, black, blue and purple generally work better and pink can be money sometimes as well.
Love using the curly tails and white is bygar the best. Try if you don't already, bouncing it with a jigging motion. You'll be surprised the fish that go bonkers for it.
excellent video as usual! you should try these new Z-Man Micro Finesse lures I got the TRD's and all the videos I've seen on them show they work I think you would tear up this creek with some TRD's or the little ShadZ in the pink coconut color keep up the great work!💪🎣
Very versitile lure. I think I've caught nearly every freshwater species that is common in the north-central atlantic region on curly tail grubs. Everything from tiny breem to good sized bass and walleye to huge channel cats. I've even had some luck using them in salt walter. Plus they are relatively cheap so you don't have to fret over losing them
Haha, I got damn near the same set up, I used a green curly tail grub with a red 1/16ounce jig head, 8lb test on a KastKing ultralight rod and reel combo .
Good fish kid 👍Bass eat ANYTHING moves try catch wild brown trout for we challange on the white grub lol or if after try some differwnt ones that be vid for ya 😎👍
Just got my first ultra light can’t wait to hit a peacock here in Miami they’re not a run for structure fish most of the time more worried about getting good hook sets on ‘em.
I assumed it helped the grub hit the bottom in a more natural way since the current is pulling it. So pulling out a little extra line helps the grub sink without the line going tight first. Either way doesn't matter.
bro in 5 minutes you caught like 4 fishes and i was sitting at a river fishing for 4 fucking hours and caught nothing... how do you do that like just how i tried to catch fish two days in a row fishing for couple hours and caught nothing while it takes you 20 seconds to catch a fish
I am so happy to see younger males doing things that are not destructive... Welcome to the club little angler...
Little Dude so glad to see a young man out enjoying nature rather than sitting on the couch KEEP IT UP you may have a future at this

I agree
Yessir. Wish my nephew would get off his ass and find a hobby worth while
I agree, I wish there was slightly better fishing spots in my area
I know your not talking rob
Congratulations on the sweet Smallie! I really enjoy fishing small bodies of water like that using lite tackle. Good video

Ever since I have started fishing these have worked great for me too! They catch just about anything!
@@CurtisOutdoors I just bought the same but with 3 inch is that fine?
What size hook to use for this thanks
@@kent7525 i use 1/8 ounce white jigheads and 3 inch white curlytails. but ive never caught anything on it so idk

Ayy I love this man! Made my day!!
Agreed! White, christmas color, or pink always produce. The most underated lure but so effective!
Awesome video! Those smallmouth looked like a lot of fun, and congrats on the PB!
Thank you! Smallmouth are definitely my favorite fish to catch, they fight so hard!
Awesome video. Congrats on PB with the smallmouth!

That’s awesome! I’ll have to try those. Thanks for watching!
The pb smally on ultra light gear is great ❤❤❤
Love your videos! Keep more coming.
Thank you! Will do!
So cool! Every catch is like you opening a surprise box! Appreciate that you say what each fish is.
Awesome video man. Makes me wanna use a curly tailed grub more often.

i love the white curly tail grubs. They have caught me the most fish this year. I have caught like 3 LMBs and 2 perch off the of them.
"Honey wake up the fishing boy uploaded"
Haha, I got damn near the same set up, I used a green curly tail grub with a red 1/16ounce jig head, 8lb test on a KastKing ultralight rod and reel combo .
I use the 1/16 oz as well!! Do you have any suggestions on which brand to use? I grabbed a pack of Mister Twister but the tail won't move 😢
congrats on the pb smallie
"finally got another one" after they hit every cast lmao, you're funny
True and I love you're excitement. That was a beauty. I have a ? What kind of camera are you using? I want one but can't afford a go pro. Thanks
If you will turn that grub with the tail up it gets much better action.
Good fish kid 👍Bass eat ANYTHING moves try catch wild brown trout for we challange on the white grub lol or if after try some differwnt ones that be vid for ya 😎👍
that a good lure I want to try
Yo good stuff dude
I find the same lure in green pumpkin with red flake might be the bite-iest lure of all time
Congrats on your PB! Nice video also
Thank you! I appreciate it!
thanks for the help i’m just starting and have a 5’6 rod looking for a good lure for it and this really helped me
Another tip, paddle tailed minnow softbaits are also really good, and makesure to use the right size and weight jigheads.
Thanks for teaching me I've been trying to figure out the grub it's surprisingly intimidating lol I feel so funny saying that
Great smallie bro!
That's a dope little jig you got
Great video 👍🐟
great fish dude 🐟🎣
Yeeew!!! Like 100 Bud!🎣💥
#FoconoUltralight
Dang this videos doing good, nice!
Great video and awesome catches. What size grub were you using and what weight is the jig head?
Thank you! I believe I used a 2 inch grub and a 1/16th ounce jig.
Sick video man ive been an ocean fisher until recently and am just starting to learn freshwater, gonna try these grubs next time i go out!
I might have to get this lure😂
Some one sure is having fun you are very lucky
What size jig head are you using?
Probably 1/32 oz
Just got my first ultra light can’t wait to hit a peacock here in Miami they’re not a run for structure fish most of the time more worried about getting good hook sets on ‘em.
Good luck, ultralight fishing is tons of fun!
Can I use 6 pound test for ultra light?
For sure, I use 4 but 6 works great as well
I’ve just bought my first ugly stick GX2 rod and in all honesty it’s brilliant!! New sub bud 👊🏼
Great video
The camera is so clear. What camera are you using?
good kid. keep at it
Love the sunglasses can you send a link?
Rock Bass + Creek Chub = Catfish bait!
Great video what are the rod and reel you are using
I have gotten better hookup numbers with the curlytail up instead of down.
Great job Homie!!!!
Congrats on the PB! I need to get myself a grub😂. Also what river are you fishing?
Thank you! This is the Clinton river.
Cool vid man
What kind of set up are you using rod and reel
What if it’s hot outside, but trees are so large that there’s a lot of shade over the water in some areas, but the water is darker than your video?
What real add rod combo were you using in the video
tail works better when it curls the same direction as the hook
I used to do it that way and the action is better, but your hookups won’t be as good.
These and the rebel crawfish are top creek bait.
I put one of these on my spinner bait and i haven’t put it down yet😅 it’s in every one of my videos now
@CurtisOutdoors Really nice video.
W video
Why do you pull your line out after every cast? Never seen another fisherman do that.
I Gonna catch some perch with that !
Can they be used on the canal
Where do you buy the Curly tail grub
Some one gave a pack of Yum grubs , i need to test them out.
Great video. I what size head you are using here?
Thank you! I believe I was using 1/16 ounce in this video.
@@CurtisOutdoors perfect, thanks
Do you use a weight with this rig
I’m pretty sure he used a weighted jig head
What river?
Grub baby baby!! wtg......Thanx
Strange habit pulling drag after you cast and flip the bell over...it doesn't do anything!
Maybe it works better for him than others, don’t discourage fishing techniques what if his grandpa taught him that and it’s worked for generations?!
@@NashWalukiewicz-z3h shut up!

@gleamtarrest6310 We are blessed to have you and all your fishing wisdom. Thank you for letting me know.
Would be a very pleasant day for anyone.
i use that same rod and reel lol
bro in 5 minutes you caught like 4 fishes and i was sitting at a river fishing for 4 fucking hours and caught nothing... how do you do that like just how i tried to catch fish two days in a row fishing for couple hours and caught nothing while it takes you 20 seconds to catch a fish
After this video I rigged up some grubs
Ugly stick really makes anything.
A curly tail on a ugly stik rod. You can't get more basic than that.
yooo
so is that how to fish them let it sink and slow roll it
It’s called a mud fish not a river chub

Ok?

Love the vids man but no offense you kinda speak like a npc
Alright guyth
You freaking lied
