The zookeeper lives vicariously through the stud.
lol
😂
When he was describing how to court a partner that's definitely how it felt.
As do we all.
@@cooperhough7583Mate* Bad enough humans want to equate relationships to a business arrangement. Don't put that stuff on nonhumans.
LMAO, the zookeeper's disappointment is absolutely hilarious. Cracked me up.
😂 Like a disapproving father
I know imagine that he makes his wife have children
it was like watching a episode of "the office" xD
"What a useless male"
"He's scared of locusts which I..... that tells you everything."
“He’s sharing his food with her. He knows what he’s doing.”
"Basically, he's terrified that a whole 'nother world has just appeared on the other side." Sounds like me graduating college.
Not really, everyday are same.
Living in modern life does kinda feel like you're in a cage doesn't it. No wonder everyone wants to escape to the internet
Peter has a very dry sense of comedy, and I love it, haha
Nice try peter
Son of the stud…..is a dud.
This was a lovely story, the keeper is unintentionally hilarious and it just brightened my day.
I think his humor is just deadpan
@@cobytaylor2097it could be a That Mitchell & Webb Look skit
He's just British.
@@hithere4719 Yes 👍🏼
@@anomonyous Well aware of that.
Poor guy has to go on a date with his dad's mistress 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He took one look at her, threw sand at her and took off…. That told me a LOT !!!!
Don't forget he is afraid of his major food source--the locust. Natural selection at work.
Came for the stud, stayed for the zookeeper. 😂 Cute creatures both of them!
Stop.
Give me babies daddy!
The noses: ⬆️↗️➡️↘️⬇️↙️⬅️🔄↩️↪️⤴️⤵️
they could make a whole reality tv / drama out of this and i'd be way too invested.
Aww. He’s not “useless”… just a bit shy 😊
Raised in captivity with a human voyeur looming over him, I’d be shy too 😅
...or not interested in girls.
... and scared of his own food. That's fine. The stud's got 15 more opportunities to find a proper heir.
@@akumayoxiruma pretty sure it's gender dysphoria. They should have made a rainbow crosswalk between the two habitats and dyed their hair purple and green. Everything would have been okay
@@akumayoxirumauseless then it is
"digging a hole won't help"
just as true when it comes to human dating.
the zookeeper's energy and devotion to the little shrews is absolutely delightful
Lol, the zookeeper is so invested in this
1:08 instant replay of the stud’s thunderous roar and battle stance. you’re welcome
The way it shows the text "The stud" and it proceeds to show this little fuzzy thing rolling in sand lol
It looks so dramatic for something so not dramatic
Everyone knows it can be impossible to perform under pressure....😊😊😊
The melty man.
not if you're The Stud
@@bimapringgo Not what your mom said!
👌🏻
That's why they say you have to rise to the occasion.
Girls have never liked me.
"Digging a hole isn't going to help" 😂😂
“TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THAT SNOUT”
Evolution clearly has a sense of humor. What a cute little critter. Scared of locusts…too funny. I can see why they have to weigh her…she’s so round.
They weigh her to see if she's pregnant, not because of her shape or possible obesity!!
@@stephenbrand5661I think op meant it would be too difficult to judge by eye that she was pregnant because these animals are so round so they have to weigh her to make sure. Since the keepers are responsible for feeding them they wouldn't have to worry about obesity.
You mean God.
@@Sassysaxxy23 Praise the Sky Man!!!
@@stephenbrand5661 not a man but it’s good to praise God ☺️
"He's scared of locusts" together with his expression in his face made me giggle.
Can we see the babies in the next video please? With parents of maximum cuteness, they can only be amazing.
Ikr 😊❤️⭐️🎉
ngl they might be pink little hairless aliens lol

@@polarlolyeah that seems to be the default for newborns. Let us see some week old babies with fur pls tho!
@@brownmonkey86- Found some videos with that name in the title, but no channel with that name.
What gives?
What a curious and adorable little creature!!!
Yes, Peter is fantastic! :)
"The Stud has stepped in to make up for his Son" absolutely brutal
Move aside boy and watch how it’s done ;)
this zookeeper is absolutely hilarious 🤣 his commentary made this one of my favorite videos on youtube
Zoo keeper, "I don't think I've ever seen a more wimpy sangie".
😂😂😂😂😂
I just discovered this animal today, its going to my favorite animal list. Like a mix between a kanguru, a hamster, and an elephant. So cute
Kangaroo :)
@@chlorophyllheart oh yeah lol, i forgot
@@kaliltama no worries :)
Omg Kanguru 💀
@@hamishfox dude i forgot to change my language okay 😭
kangaroo is kanguru in Indonesian
No wonder we have the old saying Elephants are scared of mice..
It's cause they didn't want to hurt their cousins 😂
This was a delightful story. I wish we could have more videos about the life of these unusual critters.
Bro Peter is killing me he’s so funny
How cute was that! I want to see the babies now o__o
Me too! I need to see the babies! 🥺
@@einienj3281 NO! no babies for u 😠🙅♀️
its fat not babies
@@petanilapar7599 That sounds even cuter 🥺
Just imagine the adult but smaller and even rounder
Also, an important note: he didn't JUST run away from the chick, he actually KICKED SAND at her with his left from paw too, lol.
Came for the shrew, stayed for the zookeeper ❤
This is the definition of a video I didn't ask for, but loved 😂
The son of the stud is such a vibe 😂
Never have I been soo invested in a Shrewsbury life
Just like Elephant Shrews some guys are "STUDS", some guys are "SONS OF STUDS"
weird
Me and my mom, we noticed and liked them since we saw an elephant shrew in an encyclopedia. And just imagine how thrilled we were when they got them in our local zoo! And later we saw a baby, so they bred these guys successfully.
Dad's a real "Mighty Mouse" and Casanova rolled into one. Naturally, he's a gent and offers his dates a meal first. 😂❤ The son is just more shy. That first encounter with Saucy Sally is too much pressure 😢
This video is Hilarious 😂!..when he said he was scared of a locust and I saw him run I was busting gut.
Peter is absolutely hilarious
How they run so fast with those tiny lil legs relative to their body size is beyond me.
'nyooooooom' - elephant shrew
Its a lot floof
The zookeepers made this video 10x more entertaining
That yawn and stretch was so cute!
Poor son of the stud, lots of pressure on the little guy.
Give the boy a chance. He's never seen a female before especially an experienced one. On the other hand, maybe he bats for the other team????
That was just so funny. They are so cute and silly that you can't help but laugh, but equally the zoo keeper commentary is hilarious. We have had several dwarf Russian hamsters and these little souls are like them just faster with longer noses and legs. Super cute.🐹🐹🐾🐾🐭🐭😍😍
Unintentionally hilarious bit. Bless this keeper.
LMAOOO He’s so wimpy and scared of locusts!!!! 3:44 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂priceless ❤❤❤
1:10 They are so strangely adorable and sound just like a baby kitten! ❤
What’s a “baby kitten”?
@@Onslaught17 …. a baby kitten
@@nkm08 Yes, a "kitten" is a baby, so... the actual crap is a "baby kitten"?
I never seen this little animal before. It's amazing how these little animals go unnoticed.
Considering that those are kept to prevent extinction I am not sure about breeding Wimpy. Would you like to release a whole bloodline of Wimpys into the wild one day? Locusts will eat them alive..
Wimpy doesn't inherit the boldness of his father, so who's to say that his offspring will inherit Wimpy's timidity?
@@alezot6141 good point, but the whole problem my solve itself - Wimpy might not get the pu.. mousy? in case he is too wimpy to appraoch a female ;DDD
Omg! So cute and that squeak (or roar 😂 1:09)
Zookeeper: it was an instant connection.
My eyes: drifts towards his nose
(Hey, this guy is awesome. He's just down to earth in an entertaining way)
Now THIS is what the internet is for! Best video I have seen in months! 💚
So cute that their mating ritual is having fun
"the Stud" is my new spirit animal. 😆
Such an inspiration.
Awwww!!! Sooo cute!!! I love them so much!!!! That stretch was the sweetest thing ever!!!
The son is just creative lol
'Ma boy' he says DLDDLD Im dyung with this zookeeper guy 🤣🤣
this hits way too close to home lol
Oh goodness they're so adorable, they deserve all the loves.
Take a closer look at that snout!
There needs to be a whole channel dedicated t these cuties!
Boy you might not like it but this is what peak proformance looks like. 0roof what lady's really want is a soft tiny lil guy that will share his crickets and play tag.
SOS did his best! How can anyone live up to the stud?
Also how did they expect him to be anything but timid after giving him a name loaded with pressure. It's such an infamous story that famous parents tend to have children with a specific subset of issues!
🤣 I love the little noses they’re so adorable🥰😁💕
Omg! Soo cute! Those lil stick legs and the trunk! 😂❤❤
He’s aptly named! ❤
Please do a follow up video ! Love the zoo keepers passion for these tiny creatures
Maybe being called son of the stud is just too much pressure for the little guy. The shoes he had to fill were not that big but still big enough for him to not deliver
I love it he’s playing sims but with shrews hehehehehe
What cute little snoot wigglers! 😍
i didn`t know such a cute looking little animal exists, and is familiar to elephants? ! Thanks a lot for surprising me ! 🤩❤
Cousins twice removed on the mother's side.
When your cousin is also afraid of you
I can smell the judgement of the zookeeper.
I bet he treats people similarly.
This is adorable, and Peter is hilarious. Would the son would have a better chance if he was socialized and got to observe and learn from other shrews? Or are elephant shrews too territorial to hang out together?
Omg these creatures are ADORABLE! NEBER heard of them before …I’m in Love 🥰
So interesting to hear someone explain it in such a human way, really makes you understand the animals and why theyre doing what theyre doing a bit more, its also hilarious 😂😂
Son of the Stud drama is comedy gold.
This was so cute and funny. And i cant believe they are related to elephants. Evolution is so wild
I love these cute little creatures! They have so much personality ❤
A True Super Star, cuteness overload 💯👍
OMG I’m so happy more people are making videos on the elephant shrews! I have a tattoo of them, my favorite animal 🖤 Great video! Thank you for this 😊🙌🏽
I'm quite certain you are the only person in the whole world who decided to put a tatoo of an elephent shrew on their body. Well done!
Wow youre cool. tHE only reason i know about their existence is because once, i was searching up for what other animals have a menstrual cycle like humans, and elephant shrews came up.
@@robbieburns3564 Yay! I hope I one day run into someone else that also has one 😁
@@jujunita12345 Thank you and you are cool too for knowing them!! And yes! Isn’t that beautiful?
The way he smiled.. I just saw them and there was an instant connection..
Looks as of it's running around on tippy toes!!
Very Genuinely Curious: We hear about distant cousins to elephants appearing in the weirdest places, and some of them so small they look like rodents. My question is: Are they actual rodents? As in, do they have incisors that never stop growing throughout their lifetimes? Or do they only _look_ like rodents?
Not a rodent
I think its a case of convergent evolution, kinda like how everything turns into a crab eventually (evolution joke)
It's not really that they look like rodents, it's a common shape for small mammals, but we mostly see rodents that look like it because mice are everywhere and hamsters and gerbils are common pets, so we associate small+round mammals with rodents.
They have teeth more similar to ungulates.
What a silly and cute little animal!
I can’t cope, the feet are so LITTLE OML
Goes to show you how nurturing builds up character.
Dag nabit, you son of the stud! Whhhhhy i outtta!
Those things are so cute ! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen them before ! 💜💜💜
"It's important for these females to keep breeding, so you don't want to leave them for too long with a useless male"
That's just what my ex told me
Peter looks like Ryan Gosling
Narrator: Just look at that snout!
Shrew: AAAAAAAAAAH
When i was in first grade, i did a mini report on these shrews. I remember thinking that they looked so cute, and I've never forgotten.
Omg I’m obsessed with these little guys 🥰🥰🥰
I think maybe he needs to be around more often to get used to her he’s just scared but More his sees her and More gets around her he’ll probably get use to her I think they’re absolutely cute as can be a little noses makes them so adorable 🥰💕
This is what you get when you raise a farm animal in captivity. Their anxiety gets dialed to 11. Same as us lol
They used to call me the Elephant Shrew back in college.
The stud was inspirational.
Approached her, took one look at her and promptly ran away. But not before kicking sand in her face first.😩 Oh son of the stud…
