    A fun and easy way to make pillowcases for everyone on your holiday gift list. This tubing technique will hide all those seams.
    Fabric requirements: 1/4 yd for sleeve, 3/4 yd for body and 1/8 yd for accent piece.
    When the kids were little we gave presents in pillowcases. I figured I spent the same amount of money on gift bags, tissue, and string and it all got thrown away. A pillowcase they kept and used over and over again.

    are you able to make a video showing how to attach a ruffle to a pillow top going around the corners with a serger? I was told recently that I can attach, GATHER and serge all at the same time to making a slip cover pillow. I have been playing around with my serger and I can get around three sides but when it comes to the final fourth side, I run into trouble. Would you be able to do a video showing how you do this? I would really appreciate it!

    @newbeequilter Thanks! I'm the cameraman (Marc) and I'm not a sewer/quilter (even though I'm married to one!). My perspective is from a person that is interested in learning by "looking over the shoulder" of someone that does. My passion is to provide a service to people that is truely helpful. So many howto videos are shot from a detached angle that makes it difficult to learn. Thanks again and I hope you continue to watch!

I'm planning on making as many as I can for the Million Pillowcase Challenge. IF my local Hancock's or Joan's doesn't participate in this challenge, do you now where I can mail them to? GREAT tutorial. BTW, I use the folded method instead of the fan - I find it easier for me to keep things tidy. I didn't even notice you kept saying quilt.

      I don't think she cut it in half. With making the French seams, it takes up more of the fabric than just a regular seam.

    You would need to make the top - pink - piece much longer. The length of the inside fold that is normally found on pillows. An extra 6 - 8". You will then have this pocket on both the top and bottom of the pillow - makes for even wear of the sides in the long run.

  • @Elementfifth
    @Elementfifth 13 років тому

    @overallquilter no if you do it like this the opening si wider as the length of the pillow case - shouldn't be any way to make the opening - so the side where you introduce the pillow into the case smaller ...do I make any sense? so the opening is not open all the way on the pillow case length
